Tobias Thomas O'Malley a.k.a. Toby :)

We got Tobias Thomas O'Malley from a breeder who had rescued him and many others from a woman who was attempting to breed, but kept too many of her kittens. Over 40 cats were taken, and Toby (his name was Steele at the time) was one that went to Talshipp Maine Coons. I had contacted Vicki looking for a retired showcat, and she told me about Steels's situation. We exchanged emails for a few months, and a few months ago, we picked him up in Augusta, Ga. He had been placed in a home already, but beaten up by their other cat, so he was returned. He was very shy, skittish, and scared, all things we are still working on, but he is flourishing under our care. He's about 4 years old, and is a retired Maine Coon show and stud cat. We were told he won one show. We can see why, he's our handsome boy! When we got Tobias, Bagheera hated him instantly. But with lots of patience, time, and love, she came around, and now she only moderatly tolerates him! LOL, no, she likes him, he just gets a little too needy sometimes with the cuddling-and when your best friend is nearly twice your size, you don't want to snuggle all the time! Now Toby and Gheeri are friends. -Rita a.k.a. GS/Gheeri's Servant

Good morning ladies and gents(if any)(gents...if any gents!)! The moment you've all been waiting for! Set your eyes upon this handsome young kitty......Tobias Thomas O'Malley!! Those who know him call him Toby! And the ladies cats go wild over his good looks and charm! Not to mention the humans!

ANYWAY!! Hope everyone is having a good start to their day!

Kathleen - Karen & I left comments for you on yesterday's post, but I just wanted to say again, that we hope all is well and would like to know how you and RtheR are. Lotta "R"s in there!

Ins't that from Disney's Aristacats? Does he hold his tail in just the right way?

He is gorgeous and will come around in time. What a difficult path he has had to find a loving home. I know he appreciates your love, Rita.

Ella's Mom-as to your comment from yesterday I'm glad you appreciate your kitty. They can be exasperating but really just want us to love (and adore) them. Emma is coming along and really loves to snuggle now but it took lots of love and some treats too. Our Alex we call the love sponge-he is always ready for a tummy rub and snuggle, but being a male, I guess that comes with the territory.

Good morning everyone!

And Hello Toby! I'm so far behind in everything that this is my first chance to come here. And I sure picked a good day--it's Toby!

I'll be catching up on all the wonderful kitties I've missed and skimming the comments, but for now I'll just say Hi!

Our trip was fantastic, the marathon went better than I expected and Iceland is awesome.

Our kitties actually seemed happy to see us when we got home and none of them gave us the "cold shoulder" punishment. Probably having my sister around to keep them company and give them lovin' helped.

Gotta go, I still have so much to catch up on and today will be my first day back at work. Uggghhh.

Cheers!

Welcom back Donna. Glad you had a good time. We want details and pictures.

Jake only ate about 1.5 jars of food yesterday. Today I left about half to two thirds out for him. Don't want to waste too much. I will force the rest tonight if I have to. I noticed yesterday I think one of his teeth is missing and he has a cut on the roof of his mouth. HUM???? Oh this is gross but he pooped. He hasn't done that in soooooooooo long.

Has anyone seen the Daily Kitten? I know a few of you have. Isn't it coxiddia (I know that's not how it's spelled, but!) that can make a kittens eyes bug out like the one on TDK. Her eyes are not right! I had two very sick fosters brought to me from another foster from another rescue group, and their eyes were bugged out. They had coccydia(?). I'll have to look it up.

Oooo, we finally get to meet Toby! Such a handsome cat! I thought that was a shadow behind Toby on the left picture until I enlarged it. THEN I saw Gheeri coyly peeking out from behind him. LOL! Kat, I can't enlarge the right picture. I get an Error 404 Not Found message.

I'm currently at work visiting Kat's Cat because our server crashed and I can't access my programs and files until they get it up and running again. At least Outlook and Internet Explorer still works! Guess I'll do a little surfing ....

Yippee! The blog is working! I've been lonely :)! Toby is a very handsome kitty! Such beautiful markings.Yesterday, I was a little worried about Marigold. SHE IS FINE! But, she had some bloody diarrhea, so I took both she and Brutus to the vet.

Marigold has:
Clostridiosis
Spore-forming bacteria called Clostridium perfringens cause these infections. These bacteria can be part of the normal gut bacteria, but certain animals may be predisposed to disease-causing infection. Clostridium produce toxins in the digestive system that can cause sudden watery diarrhea that may contain blood or mucus, or alternatively, the bacteria might cause a chronic, intermittent diarrhea.
Treatment consists of antibiotics.

Big sigh of relief. The vet assures me that it is not serious, no threat to her health. I was quite worried. She started this on Sunday morning. Brutus has some diarrhea, but not bloody. They are both on antibiotics. The only downside to this is that we may have to wait another week before they can safely fly. But, I can tell you that Brutus is now 1lb. 12 oz. and Marigold is 1lb. 2oz. Yippee, they are putting on weight, even little Miss Marigold.

Kat, I think the picture on the right needs to be renamed to include an extension (of jpg).

What two beautiful cats. Wondered what those beautiful, softly glowing lights beside Toby. Read a bit and realized it is Bagheera. What a cute pair of cats.
