Goober

Goober is almost all grown up and still as soft and cuddly as a kitten. Here he is as a kitten and at about 1 year showing off his beautiful tail. -Margaret

*Remember Goober from TDK?! You can search his name at TDK and find him there.*

Good Morning Fuzz Pack!!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

How's Rex?

Yeah, just read about the wonderful win for Kat's. I think we had several wonderful sites from the fuzz group who were up for consideration. Not being very computer savvy myself, I'm amazed and proud to be part of our fuzz family with so many talented site creators that contribute. I've gone to almost everyone's sites and been so impressed with the talent. Very special congrats to Kat's Cat of the Day!!!

Thanks Claire! I was lucky because there are so many great sites out there!

I too am wondering, How's Rex?

I thought I recognized this guy! He has gone from a cute kitten to handsome cat. It is nice to see some of the babies from TDK again, and see what they look like all grown up.

Morning everyone!!

Kathleen - Don't know if you've been to Riquel's new site, All My Cats. There was an adorable picture of Simba posted yesterday. We think you should get a good picture of RtR and send it to Simba's momma so she can post a comparison of the two! Btw, how's the heat in your neck of the woods!? Better I hope!

Loa, you make me smile, and that ain't easy in the morning!
Hi Fuzz Family!
Oh, such an amazing tail! I think Goober would be subject to the Royals constantly chasing after his tail whenever he moved! I don't know who winds them up in the morning, but Marigold is in overdrive!! Well, after every nap, really! Brutus is due for his life-"altering" procedure in 2 weeks! I'm having them ^cough^ "done" seperately, because I thought I'd let 1 recouperate at a time...I'm also lulled into a false sense of security because Marigold is still so small...well, compared to my "other two"! She must have beeen a dominatrix in a past life(huh?!) What I mean is, when it's "cuddle" time, she will cry until I briskly rub her body in all the right places!! Not just for a minute or two, but 10, 15 minutes!! LOA!! Got one for you in about 8 more months! But I want her body back, so I can Gorilla Glue her head back on!!
::heh-heh-heh:::
I NEED COFFEE!!!
Check in later...
p.s. Google "Myres Castle"...choose images for more pix...that's where the Royal Family are spending a week's holiday at...really, there IS a Myres Castle...in Scotland! Near Sandringham, of course... ;}}

Hey Deb,
Brutus'...ahem...procedure is scheduled (pronounced sheduled) for Aug. 14th. I'm bringing them in for their 2nd shots on Wednesday. I have to wait for the Friends of Animals voucher to get here (technically) before making the appt, but I went and booked it, 'cause I don't want to wait any longer with him. The voucher is supposed to take 2-3 weeks to get here, and it SHOULD be here by then, so it's a GO as far as we are concerned. The vouchers are great for me, because a neuter without one would cost $150.00, and it's only $45.00 with the voucher. More moola for the "kitty" and the way Brutus wants to climb the door frames, I'd love to go on e-Bay shopping for a used cat condo! Marigold? She'll probably climb the condo after Brutus (she LOVES to kick butt!) but she's taken to climbing ME if I take too long to pick her up (i.e. 2 "meows"). I clipped their nails yesterday, and so I have to help her up. I hope she gets in the habit of hopping up into my arms. The most "Human" cat I ever owned, Frisco, even my terrorist brother had to like, because he knew when everyone got up in the morning, and, in turn, would wait by the door, follow them into the kitchen, wait for them to pour coffee, then very deftly lept into your arms for a snuggle! Brutus has come to wait until I brush my teeth for our 'kisses'...(think he likes the toothpaste!)

I think Blogger needs to recruit ML for their Tech Support! Oh, but then she wouldn't have time for us...hmmm, it's only Monday and I'm being selfish ALREADY!
WE LOVE YOU, ML!!
Hey, Karen, would anyone at the shelter be interested in the "after" shots of K.C. only a WEEK later?! She looks awesome!

Need more coffee...I can't believe it's almost 1:00p EST already...

check in later!

Good morning, everyone! At least for me it's still morning. Just got up and I need to get ready for work.

Oh my, Goober DOES have a fluffy tail like my Pumpkin. I love the before and after pics so we can see how much he's grown. He looks longer and lankier than Pumpkin though because Pumpkin's is only 9 1/2 months old yet. Maybe it's because of the fluff but it looks like he doesn't have a neck and his legs look short. He has a lot more filling out to do. Though he looks as long as the older cats, he only weighs 8 pounds. LOL, Goober looks surprised at getting his picture taken!

Hi Rose! WOW, $150.00 without the voucher!!! What are they doing, using solid gold instruments?! I wanted to tell you, they have these things out there for indoor cats as a safe alternative to declawing. They're called Cat Claw Caps or something like that. I know both Petsmart and Petco have them, I've seen them. They're little caps that fit right over the nail. I don't know if they stay on or how long they last or anything but you might want to check them out online.

caspersmom said...

I can't get over this cat's tail. It looks almost bigger than he is.

I'm with Kim, gosh that is an awful lot for a nueter job. When I had Cleo done it was only $55 and I paid only $5 of that as I had a voucher also. Got to get off Frank waiting for a call. Casper's site finally got posted

Emma's Kat said...

C.'s mom - What kind of treat did Casper and the gang get?? How'd the hubbies blood test go? And I agree about Goober's tail! It does look almost as big as his body! Lol!

Emma's Kat said...

OMGosh!! KC look-alike alert!! Go to TDK and look at the sweet little Gizmo, who looks very similar to KC!

if you like cute kitties wif paws up, go see our furrends at www.justopenthecan.blogspot.com

momsbusy said...

the nail caps are glued on after you trim the nail. they will fall off after the nail is shed. i think that is usually 4-6 weeks. they have different sizes and colors. they are available online as well as at some pet stores. i think they are called soft paws. they will definetly save your furniture and legs and arms and anything else that gets little claws sunk into. i used them on cheebie and mako since they could really tear up stuff w/ their claws. i need to get some more for kimiko and yuki. right now i am concentrating on rex though. will post later on scenic route about him.

momsbusy said...

if we adopt at our local spca we pay the adoption fee and they include the first round of shots and spaying. well worth it. the vets donate their services i think. besides you get to meet the vet and they may gain a client. i guess it works out for everyone involved.

gotta get back to work.

Well, my vet is not only one of the least expensive as well as being local, he at least allows it to be an outpatient procedure-i.e. goes in the AM, home in the PM...the vet practice I USED to use for my fuzzes and woofie are Very Good vets, they even have their own on-call vet, rather than this central pet ER the other vets use (GOD! I don't have a car, how would I ever get them help on a holiday? NOT gonna go there...)but I wonder how I ever afforded them! Oh, I remember, we were still living with Dad...I called them, since they're just a few miles up the highway, and get this the NEUTER was close to $200.00, and the spay came out closer to $275.00, because they keep them overnight! That is SO old-fashioned! But here in the NYC area, things are rediculously (sp?!) expensive anymore...I mean, most people apparently can afford it; around my town, people drive high-end cars and all...Emily's spay was free, because I got her from a local resident. When I called the agency for the Royals, she asked where I was getting them from and I told the truth...so, No Free spay/shots for the Royals! (I was eligible with Emily because I'm on Medicaid and I guess because Emily is Jersey-Bred?!)
To "have them both done" (how crass) will cost $95.00 plus their shots, which have been nearly taken care of. So we're in good shape. Yeah, I remember calling my Horse's vet for his shots, and that was near $100.00...BACK in the '70s! I want to move...
Country, lots of land, etc...

Hi all, I've been working on an article for the magazine. I've got a couple of cute photos of Bear and KC together to post, and one of Missy (remember her?). Missy has been spending a lot of time with me. She comes in and kneads beside me. She actually lets me touch her! Whoa.

And I checked on that little Gizmo on TDK. The first picture really looks like KC. The other one what she'll look like in a few weeks. KC is climbing more now, tried to go up the curtains!!!

I'm also trying to get in touch with "Samantha" who posted #13 about the momma and kitten that are starving near her.

In Hawaii there's a Neuter Now Program to encourage owners to have their pets spayed and neutered. It costs $40 for a male cat, $50 for a female cat or male dog, and $75 for a female dog. You prepay this at the Hawaii Humane Society or at a Satellite City Hall and go to a participating vet to have the surgery. If the vet keeps the animal overnight, there might be additional charges for boarding. I dropped Pumpkin off in the morning and picked him up after work. Poor thing was still pretty woozy from the sedative. I took him out of the carrier when we got home and he just stood there swaying like he was drunk. Poor baby! He staggered off somewhere to sleep it off and was back to normal in the morning.

Been waiting for that phone call all afternoon from the doctor and never did get it. Frank had questions about his medications. We won't know the results of his blood test until he sees the doctor.

The treats that I get for the gang are called Temptations put out by Whiskas.

Remember on Casper's site we had a discussion on left or right pawed kitties. When I was defragmenting my computer I laid down and when I started to doze off, Casper came up behind me and laid down and put all four paws on my back. All of a sudden I realized I was laying on my left side. So that means Casper was laying on his left side also.

Hey Mary Lynn, Catoftheday has a cat on it that looks like Casper and Missy. His name is Jasper. That's kind of a cute name.
