Kat's Korner >^..^<

In Honor of Detective Fred

I'm Still Here

I stood by your bedside
I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying
and found it hard to sleep.
I purred to you so softly,
as you brushed away a tear.
"It's me, I haven't left you,
I'm fine, I'm well, I'm still here."

I was close to you at breakfast...
I watched you make your tea.
You were thinking of the many times
your hand reached down to touch me.
I gently put my paw on you,
smiled and said..."It's me"
I'm never far away...
I'm still here."
You sat there very quietly,
then you smiled, you knew.

The day is over, I smile...
you yawn, and say,
"Goodnight...God Bless,
see you in the morning."
When the time is right for you
to cross the brief divide
I'll rush to greet you...
we'll stand side by side.
I have so many things to show you...
There is so much for you to see...
be patient...live your journey out...
and then, come home to me...
The Pud...

Sorry this is such a sad post. But it was a sad day when Detective Fred Cat went to wait at the Rainbow Bridge! The In Honor of Detective Fred, is a link, if you didn't already figure that out. And I want to again THANK YOU, KC for letting me post your beautiful poem for Fred! I will be praying and thinking about Fred's momma and all the many lives he's touched.

On a lighter note...How is everyone this Saturday morning/afternoon(for some)?

Shirley - I'm worried about you and I'm gonna send you a message. Haven't heard from you in a few days! :|

Kat, how kind to pay tribute to this sweet tabby! He has such an intelligent look about him, in his eyes, and he was "recruited for duty" from the SPCA! The poem is heart warming in a melancholy way...I believe Fred had a slew of fallen NYPD Officers waiting for him at Rainbow Bridge!

What a purr-fect tribute to a fallen officer.

CNN is carrying the story of Detective Fred also.

And the poem is excellent, is there a link to the author? Maybe that is what was in my email...ah, yes, KC better known as Gentle Annie... http://www.gentleannie2.com/.

Thanks, Kat, well done.

BTW, remember the adorable little kitten, Chase? He has his own blog and Amanda has posted a couple of cute photos....
http://www.chaseypoo.blogspot.com/
It's no surprise Chase's photos have been winning awards. The one of him yawning in that basket is adorable.

Don't think anyone knows about it cause there aren't many posts...go check out the adorable Chase, who has grown a lot, and leave a welcome message!

There are still some photos on the original blog: http://itsrainingcatsndogs.blogspot.com/ that show Chase as a baby kitten and his family...hopefully, Amanda will update the site (hint, hint, hint).

Go say hi to Chase & Amanda when you get a chance.

Yes, ML...Gentle Annie. Her site is under my links. I forgot all about little Chase's new blog. I usually bookmark new sites and I have been there, but obviously forgot to bookmark it!! Doing so now and adding him to my 2nd list of links to add!

I am so sorry to learn about Fred. That face is amazing. What a sweetheart. KC's poem is so wonderful (is as my friend, KC, I might add - glad to see you posting here!), and I know that Fred leaves behind so many memories. They really do take a part of our soul when God takes them home.
