Holly

Let me tell you a bit about Holly. She is 1 year 8 months old. She is half Maine Coons and Half I don't know (what ever jumped the fence)!!!!! She has a lot of unusual traits (as a lot of Maine Coons have). She eats chicken nuggets but will hold onto them with both paws!! (just like a raccoon). She loves the children and will play with them outside. That means if Mary is rollerskating round and round the house the cat will run with her. She loves to sit on the back of her bike!!!! She is not a lap cat but loves to with you all the time and will follow you into ever room while you are working. Vacuum cleaners, children's noises etc do not bother her. She is very affectionate and will rub her face up to you and she loves to nuzzle in. She will give you little bites on your face and neck. When you hold her she will hug your face wrapping each front legs around your face. She is also a very floppy cat. She loves playing with the children on the floor and will sit right on what they are doing. She is a very good hunter and brings home pheasants, mice, rats, frogs, birds and rabbits. One day she had a rabbit bailed up behind the washing machine when we got it out it hopped outside to freedom minus its ears!! She has a huge tail and walks with it hung down, (her tail is very much like raccoons.) She has long fur which she loves having brushed. Her fur doesn't matt so she doesn't get knots like the Persians. She won a 1st prize at the children's pet day last year. She loves water and will sit on the bath watching, one day she jumped in!!! She loves the plugs from the bath and basin and will carry them around in her teeth. We are always looking for them!!! -Marietta

Just tomlet everyone know I was MIA due to working to much. But I did check everyones blogs, but didn't comment due to being tired.

Katnippia - Don't work too hard! It's been kinda nice here at my house. No kids until noon, when I pick up my youngest from pre-k. I actually got some housework done and was able to watch TLC w/no interuptions! I sure wish this pretty kitty's human would see her and tell us more! I could kick myself for not having the email! The only thing I can think, is that I must have deleted it by mistake. Don't know how, but...And I have a list of email addresses and what cat belongs to who, so if I did something like this I'd have a backup email address! Sorry sweet Holly! The first cat of the day with no known story...as of yet!

Zebby update: Zebby it looks like, will be staying with us until he's adopted. He will go to PetsMart on the groups (ART) weekend special adoption showings, for cats like Zebby and ones who their isn't enough room for at PetsMart. So it's good, but can also make it take longer for Zebby to get adopted. But it's what is best for him really. He doesn't like it up there and gets really quiet and doesn't really respond to people looking at him.

Kim - I left you a message at Animal Magic. I keep forgetting you have two ratties! I would love to surprise Jared for Christmas w/two ratties. I just dread the thought of cleaning their cage every week!! I guess the new cages they have might have slide out trays. That's what it looks like Stan and Noggin have. Do you have your's in a tank or cage?

Okay, if you want to see one of the cleverest antimated cursors I have ever seen, go to Cat Happy. Wow, and wow again.

Cat Happy...
I left out the "http:\\" part which made Blogger think it was a local address. Sigh.

O M G!!! I AM SO STUPID!!! I know who this cat belongs to!!!! She is from New Zealand!!! She belongs to my friend Marietta!!! I completely forgot that I sent you her picture and that I was suppose to get her profile!!! I'll email Marietta right away but just know that she is 14 hours ahead of us and probably won't be able to comment until tomorrow. BTW, she is a Maine Coone.

Hey Kat! Sally and Molly live in a cage. The whole top comes off and I just dump the bottom into a trash bag. Alan actually wants to build them a big cage with all kinds of fun stuff to do. We love having them and they have been great around the kids. I'll go check out the messages right now.

How was Jude's first day of school? Did he have fun, did he like it?

Emma's Kat said...

Kim - As soon as you said "I know who this cat belongs to" it clicked with me! Oh well, at least we now know and will find out more about her! I will still post her info under today's post and everyone can go back and read it.

I keep thinking about rats as pets. I've always said, if I ever had a rodent pet, I would have a rat. I know they are very smart and great pets. And have learned so much from the lady at Animal Magic. I was thinking what a great surprise a couple of pet rats would be for Jared for Christmas! He is very good with our cats and I know he would be great w/any pet he had.

Jude's first day went great! He said he wasn't scared at all about going and he's ready to go back tomorrow! He told me all the things he did and that he met new friends too. Jared you have to drag out of him what he did in school! Lol!

ML - I have seen a similar animated cursor like that. It is wild how they can get it to work like it does! Like you said...Wow!

Hi all, what a gorgeous kitty! I love her coloring. Can't wait to hear more about her.

I'm still having problems with Ella and Fitz. They seem to be fighting more often now. Today I took Fitz out on a leash to get some air cause I felt sorta bad that Ella got to go outside and he didn't plus he seemed kinda lonesome for outside. Well when I brought him back in the house, Ella just kinda walked up and gave him a sniff, and the next second Fitz goes after Ella pinning her down. I had to separate them again and put him back in my room. I just dunno what to do. We have to watch them all the time now to keep them from going after each other. Maybe I'll need to get some feliway and see if that helps.

Emma's Kat said...

Maybe this is a stupid question, but here goes anyway...Are you sure they are fighting? They are not just playing rough? Is there hair flying or any wounds? How old is Fitz?

Katnippia said...

Ella's Mom, i have found that the feliway does work. i have 5 fuzz childrens and they get into there tussels. yet, when i have sprayed the house with it they are relaxed

Lynn said...

I'm not sure. I think most of the time it is playing though I don't think Ella sees it that way. Fitz goes after Ella mostly when he's in one of his playing moods and tearing through the house. Today though he just jumped on her for no reason. I checked Ella after and I didn't see any wounds or scratches and I've never seen any hair flying or anyone get hurt from any of their "fights". Maybe it looks worse than it really is its just when they get close to each other it always seems to end with them growling and rolling around going at each other.

Holly is a gorgeous girl! love that big fluffy belly and tail, and that look she is giving is so cute! like she's daring us to rub her belly! LOL!

Such exquisite fluff!! Holly is a gorgeous girl! Can't wait to read her story.

My cat Oreo plays with Sammy,(the dog) the same way that Cocoa plays with his sisters. Sometimes they get very rough. When he was a kitten, I was worried he'd get hurt because he only weighed a couple of pounds vs the Sam's hefty 50lbs. But, he kept coming back and seemed to be having fun.

Kim--how can you keep the rats with cats around? My daughter wants a hamster. I didn't think it would be a good idea to have one fuzzy family member that was prey for another fuzzy family member. I was afraid the hamster would escape his cage and the cat would hunt it down, or at least the hamster would have a heart attack from fear of the cat prowling around.

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

Karen C., you know, I was kind of worried about how it would out in the beginning. Funny thing is, that they seem to like each other. Whenever one of the cats jumps up to the cage, the rats, usually Molly as she is the more social of the two, will run over to the cat and the two will just sniff noses. They love that. Then the cat will go away and Molly will go back to what she was doing. Now one of the rats got loose while I was on vacation and my husband said that Simon went after it. But he didn't tear into her, he just trapped her in his paws and checked her out. The cats don't even chase the ball around the house when the rats are out and about for their excercise. Shoot, it was a least three days before Oscar even realized they were here and even then it took a week for him to investigate.

Holly looks like a femme fatale lounging on her red lounge. Kind of regal like. Pretty picture.

OOPS, Sorry Karen C! You're right, I meant Karen S! Victoria? Nice, but everyone would wonder who Victoria was and still call you Karen C! LOL

What a beautiful kitty ! I have to confess we Maine Coons are VERY attractive...
The habits you mention, holding food, liking water and very gregarious are all 'coony' traits.
