Kaze

Latte was getting quite active for Chase and we decided (OK, I decided) to get him a little playmate. I wanted a Bengal but spoke to a breeder friend on one of my forums and found she had this lovely seal lynx point Oriental Shorthair available and she was 6 months old. We drove down to D.C. to get her and she yelled at us the whole way back! It took her about a week to warm up to me, until then she was quite displeased if you tried to touch her. Her first issue was giardia, which I have to say is the most foul thing as she would leave little marks on the rug where she sat down and it would leak out of her while she was sleeping. After that was cleared up she integrated easily with Latte and they were fast friends. Soon after I became her property and I am certainly her "Lap Lady" and she gets jealous of others, including my DH. She is the snuggliest, purriest, most playful cat I've ever known. She is devious and smart, sensitive and funny; she is really a wonderful light in our home. She plays just as hard as the boys but she sleeps under the covers with me every night. She adores snuggling with Latte and she play attacks Chase from behind whenever she can. Kaze has feline herpes which is managed by l-lysine and zithromax (an antibiotic) during flare-ups. She is very senstive so any time I go on vacation she tends to relapse and coughs and sneezes a lot. As she gets older it should get easier but she certainly doesn't mind the l-lysine mixed in with her stinky goodness. Kaze is QUITE the charachter and I can't imagine ever not having an Oriental Shorthair. -Lauren P.

Good Morning Fuzz Family!
Hope everyone is doing well.
Kaze I'm happy to see that you are Kat's cat of the day. As always you are very cute. Plus you have the cutest froot bat ears.

Oh, it's pretty Kaze the Frootbat! I love reading about what you and Latte have been into lately. Lauren, you have a wonderful way of telling their stories.

KAT, here I am, soggy but unbowed! Sorry I didn't answer you yesterday, but I was being a Grumpybutt, and didn't want to spread it here. We had half an hour of sunshine, between the storms, so I'm feeling better. Shep has the YIP!'s, when he's out he wants in; when he's in he wants out, and then complains that it's still raining. Flumpy has to check EVERY door EVERY hour, trying to find one that doesn't have rain outside it. Meepsie bites anything that moves, and Paul and I both have colds. On the bright side, next Wednesday I'm off to Tucson for the annual Quilt Show and a visit with Mom and The Best Sister Ever!

I had the cold a couple weeks ago too, and so did Kim! It's that time of year! Glad everyone's doing well in your neck of the woods. Sucks to have all that rain. We're supposed to be getting some, off and on, the next few days too. Cool, a quilt show and a visit with mom and sis! Can't beat that! I'd love to go to a quilt show. I love quilts and blankets! I'll meet ya out there, k?! Lol, just kiddin', but it would be fun.

Giardia is the PITS! :( Mine may have had that, but treatments didn't get rid of the yuck. After many trials and trauma, we figured out the T. Feotus (which can look like Giardia under the microscope) was to blame, via specific test sent to A&M University. Special antibiotics later, my cats make the litterbox not so much of a foul mess. They get probiotics daily, a little acidophilus mix in their wet food, which helps tons, too.

OH KAZE, I just love your site and now you're here on Kat's as the Cat of the Day! What a great day for me, a double does of Kaze!

Mumma, I'd been thinking about you, too! I had intended to email you but I kept getting distracted! The kids are finally back in school though so it's possible that my sanity may return!

Hello my fuzz family! OH, just had a thought! Why don't we get the word out to ALL our new cat bloggin friends about the Fuzz Family Get Together of 2008?! I'm assuming that we're still planning that.
