Bagheera of the Jungle

This is Bagheera. She's a Havana Brown that we got 3 years ago (exactly 3yrs on April 1!) from our local Humane society. She was a stray, and only 9 months old, and pregnant. Now she is the Queen of the house. We believe she will be 4 years old in July. -Rita a.k.a. GS

Hello Beautiful Bagheera! You're Mommy has done a wonderful job taking care of you!!! You do like like the queen of your domain! Havana Brown's are so pretty, especially in the sunlight.

OK GS, I've always wanted to ask this, and in a wait it seems obvious, but is Bagheera named from the Jungle Book?

Good Morning All!!! Danielle, how was Jakes first night back home?

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

OOps, "in a WAY it sounds obvious"

Good morning! It's Gheeri a.k.a. Bagheera a.k.a. Bagheera of the Jungle!! She's so pretty GS. I love the green eyes, which btw you can see better by clicking on the pic to make it bigger.

She is beautiful and I'm sure, runs the house.

Hey Jan! Question:
I was reading your comment on Pablo. Do you call your sister Kitty? And is one of her fuzzballs named Maci? Probably not, but I just wanted to know if there was a connection, because I rec'd an email yesterday...and well I'll give details after you read this.

Bagherra, you are a very beautiful girl. Your mommy says your the Queen of the house and you look like the Queen.
GS, you have a very, beautiful baby girl. I'm glad that someone like you adopted her from your humane society.
Very lucky girl to have you as a kitty mommy.

Wow. Bagheera is stunning. If you click on the picture on the right, you get a great view of those huge luminous, slanted eyes. And the outdoor photo, you can almost see her inner "big cat", she appears poised to go into a stalking or hunting mode. Beautiful girl.

I knew Bagheera was cute, but these pictures show how beautiful she really is.

Unfortunately I was on the way to get Jake and the vet called and she said he had to stay for at least one more day. I am so wanting him home now.

I want to know what happened to her babies. Please inform us.

Emma's Kat said...

Poor Jake...he still not going potty like he should? How's Spot taking him being gone??

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Didn't know where her name originated. A panther! That explains it. That is exactly what she reminds me of, a jungle cat. How the name suits her.
Oh, poor Jake. Know he is ready to come home. But they won't let him go until he's all set, so it is for the best. Easy to say, hard to do (and costly!!!). Hopefully he'll be home today. ML

What a beauty!! Absolutely adorable.

Beautiful Gheeri! I love the piercing green eyes, and the name fits her, even if she has gotten slightly rounder. My sister has a Corgi; Yoda is a Big Dog(just ask him!), he's just short, so I know what you mean about Gheeri being a Big Cat.

DANNI-Purrs, snuzzes and hugs to all of you, especially poor Jakey. Bummer!!

KAT-yes, my sister is Kathryn, called Kitty, but her cat gang are Goldie, Marbles and Patche$; the dogs are Yoda and Keiko. I'm really looking forward to my trip to Tucson.

BTW, I really like the name Fuzz Pack for us--it fits, and is a whole lot easier than "my internet cat buddies."

Kat...I should have some more pictures of my babies for you soon...I was trying to take some pictures of Charlotte, but the the little bugger wouldn't sit still...LOL..they were all blury. HA!

Jake is where he needs to be for the time being. I am just anxiously awaiting his return. I can't stand the wait. I feel REAL guilty I was unable to visit him last night. I'm a bad pet.

Spot is trying his hardest to fill Jake's paws. He demands food as soon as I wake up and as soon as I walk in the door after work. He has also tried taking Jake's place sleeping. Jake sleeps on me and Spot can only get half way on me and half on the bed. I don't think he can figure that one out. I think he is lonley without Jake there. Soon (hopefully today) he will be home.

Thank you everyone. :)

Hi Baheera!

She and our Maddie look so much alike. I was looking at Maddie laying in a sunspot in our house and I realized that her coat did almost look more dark brown than black. Maybe, like Gheeri, she has some Havanna Brown in her too.

Something else in common between Gheeri and Maddie: Both found as strays, both about the same age, and both discovered pregnant when they went in to be spayed, and both had to have the pregnancy aborted. Oh, and both "rounder and stockier" now.

What a bummer that Jake had to stay one more night. Arrrgggghhhh.

Cheers all!

I understand how Bagheera got her name... she looks exactly like the black panther from The Jungle Book, except scaled down.

/Well Bagheera I can understand why your Momma calls herself a servant to you. Queen of the jungle and of the house. What could be better than that. You are a very pretty girl.

Sorry to hear that Jake didn't make it home, but it is a lot better to be safe than sorry. I think it would be a lot harder to get him home then have to take him back to the vet. Kitty prayers still going up.

Emma's Kat said...

Question, GS. If you have time to answer. I'm full of questions today! What is that on Gheeri's collar?

::sigh:: Another Diva FuZZ

momsbusy said...

danielle - sorry to hear jake didn't make it home yet. as casper's mom said "better safe than sorry". we will keep all in our prayers.

out of curiosity, does anyone else buy gifts for their fur babies when they are apart? i know i get little serci's for mine if i go out of town or they have to spend the night at the vets.

GS - your beautiful queen has a faithful and loving servant in you. i can tell by your comments you are a very kind and caring soul. Bagherra is gorgeous. her eyes are so bright. i am so glad i have finally gotten to see your girl.

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

Danielle, I am so sorry! Is it just a precaution? YOU ARE NOT A BAD PET!!!! You have been a very dedicated human and Jakie knows this as do we all!!! You missed one day. Trust me, no one at that vet is going to ignore Jake. I'm sure he's getting plenty of attention. Don't be so hard on yourself! We all know that you're a good pet parent. How could you be anything but? You're a member of the Fuzz Pack!
CHIN UP! :)

Any kitty that beautiful deserves to be Queen! Love those eyes!!

Come home soon Jake!

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

OK GS, start emailing me some pictures! I want to see the new baby!

At last, I can see Bagheera! She really is gorgeous. She looks so silky, and I love for a kitty to have really GREEN eyes.

Danielle, my best thoughts to Jake, and to you. I hope he's home very soon.

Kitty Bling - I love it!

By the way, does anyone ever check out www.catoftheday.com ? There's a very striking beauty named Amber on there today. Just another place to get my feline fix!

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

Hi Beautiful Queen of the Urban Jungle!

Sorry Kat, hope you don't mind this, BUT, you really do have to check out catoftheday.com! The cat, Amber, is extremely beautiful!!! I love her breed. Gheeri, you are still tops!

Anonymous said...

Of course Gheeri is tops! I always come to this site, Pet Du Jour (and TDK, when functioning) first - not only for the pictures, but especially for the people. Then I cruise around to all the other pet sites. The more kitties I can see in one day, the happier my day is!

Anonymous said...

momsbusy--this may be a stupid question but what are "serci's"? You said "i know i get little serci's for mine...".

Yes, GS, I am now thoroughly convinced that Maddie and Ba-Gheeri are twin sisters born and raised a continent apart :-)

As for catoftheday.com -- yup, it's on my daily list. Some people need coffee, I need cats and kittens.

Emma's Kat said...

Kim, you know better! You know I don't mind. She, Amber? was it, is a beauty!! So sweet and innocent looking. But I'm sure she can be a wild girl!

GS, I love her bling! Emma has a pink rhinestone collar. Where'd you get her #1 Cat charm??

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

Karen, I've seen your name on the Kitten Picture Blog. Have you seen today's picture? It's another pair of kittens that are hugging each other. SO CUTE!!!

I'm lucky, since I don't work, well sorta, I'm a full time Mom. Anywho, since I'm home all the time, I have COFFEE and KITTIES! I get to have my cake and eat it too!
OH, and the occassional IM from a certain friend, which is nice!

momsbusy said...

donna - serci's are little gifts, tokens of appreciation (or in this case - apurrrciation).i may have misspelled serci.

danielle said...

I go to catoftheday.com after I come here. I would go to Gheeri's site since she doesn't post til lunch.

Unfortunately Jake has to stay the weekend at the vets. He had to have the catheter put back in. sob sob. That is what it will take to make him better so he will stay until he is 100% I will go visit tonight. All these problems I want to start crying. I hate to see him going through this. I know it will be ok though. Well real busy at work got to go.

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

I'm sorry Danielle. You're right though, it is for the best. The Vet wouldn't want to send him home if he weren't really better. We're thinking about you. Oscar says to give Jake a nuzzle when you see him. Keep us posted! I wish I could give you a hug through the screen.

The Kitty with the cat named Maci is definitely not Meowmepurr's Mumma's sister. Sorry if I caused any confusion. :-D Hope it was OK that I submitted the pics -- I'm mostly a lurker here and in the Daily Kitten but I've enjoyed you all very much.

Anonymous said...

I did see the hugging kitties - so very cute! Midnight and Grr will do that, and Midnight and Cocoa will also - but NOT Cocoa and Grr!

Poor Jake! It's sad that he has to be away from home for so long, but the most important thing is that he gets better. **purrrr**

Emma's Kat said...

No confusion kitty. Didn't think it was Meowmepurr's sister, but just making sure. Definately ok to submit pix. That's what we want. More kitties to see! Glad you're visiting and hope you continue! >^..^<

Emma's Kat said...

She's gonna get me, but I'm gonna pull a Rosie. Here goes:

ROSIE, where the hell are you!?

Katnippia said...

Bagheera is such a beautiful girl.
bagheera's mommy you were lucky to get her. Most pure breed or those that look like they are. They get adopted really fast.

Momsbusy, I get my kitty babies gift when i have to take them to the vet. Although I'm going to be getting them something really speacil when I load them up to move back to Florida next weekend.

Danielle - I hope you will be able to bring Jake home after this weekend.

momsbusy said...

danielle - sorry to hear jake will be staying at the vets a little longer. prayers for all.
