Truer words have never been spoken! Sorry guys, it is true though.

I thought this was a cute quote.

Kim, did you see the kitties on Stuff on my Cat? The next to the last kitty looks very similar to Oscar! Check him out, if you haven't already.

Kat, OMG! He looks exactly like Oscar! How funny! I liked the brown t-shirt and ordered one. I'm a shop-a-holic!

oh so true. and to think a man wrote it. robert heinlein must have been a wise man. one w/ much insight to have come to this conclusion. hmmm, i might have to start reading some of his books.

It's a great quote. I think I've read that he was quite a cat person. If that is the case, I really should start reading more of his books, sci-fi I think....

How 'bout this one?
"You can keep a dog; but it is the cat who keeps people, because cats find humans useful domestic animals."
- George Mikes from "How to be decadent"

Wonderful quote, Mahalo Linda!!

Heinlein was quite a cat person, and his books are "peopled" with a wonderful collection of cats. There is Pixel, The Cat Who Walks Through Walls. Someone asks "How does he do that?" Answer--"He doesn't know that he can't, so he does!"

His early books are pot-boilers/space operas; but his later books get deeper and more philosophical(sp?). Anyone who is ultra-sensitive about race, religion, sex, or much of anything else probably won't like his stuff, but I love them and have read them all.

i like that second quote also. i know my father liked to read heinlein's sci-fi books. he still has a collection. didn't he write the book "i, robot" that recently was made into a film?

"To Sail Beyond the Sunset" was another of Heinlein's books that Pixel was in. The mystery of how Pixel walked through walls was partially solved later in that book. That's also the book where the theory that Redheads are descendants of cats, not apes, is proposed. :)

The Door Into Summer was another "cat-centric" book of his. The man definitely was a cat-a-holic. :)

Love the quote Kat.

MOMSBUSY--I, Robot was Isaac Azimov, not Heinlein, but he was an intelligent Sci-Fi writer as well.

NEEN--I was a redhead before it started to turn grey:( Thank you for reminding me about Pixel's continuing adventures. Our Flumpy(the only one who still goes out) complains bitterly about the door into summer being closed. Meepsie just complains that she can't go out with Flumpy.

Hi Kat, I just found your site this evening while seeing if The Daily Kitten was up yet - thank you for making this site featuring adult cats, which are my favourites - so much more kitty to love in an adult cat! :)

I have two longhaired grey cats - Jonathan, male, grey oriental/tabby, and Daisy, female grey and white chinchilla/tabby. Both I got from a no-kill shelter a couple of years ago, they are both about 6 1/2 years old now. Daisy is on my lap right now as I'm typing. Previously to them, my beautiful grey/white/black longhaired tabby/persian girl, Smokey, was with me for 22 1/2 years... I miss her so much.

I look forward to visiting your site everyday to see the new cats :).

Cheers and friendly meows to you and yours. :)
