Oscar

Oscar is 8 years old, and while he weighs 14.5lbs, he thinks he's a tiny kitten. His first few months of life he was raised by a Great Dane, so he never really learned how to purr. He licks when he's happy to see you and he comes in from the back yard with a simple, "Here Boy!" He has Asthma but lives a very normal life. He's very affectionate and is just one of our kids! Although this picture makes you want to rub his tummy, he's not a tum tum kind of cat. He won't bite or scratch but he will roll over and present his backside! -Kim

Good Morning All! This is my baby boy! Horray for Oscar. He is one big love machine! This is how he likes to relax!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Is anyone having problems with TDK? I get a message that says it's been removed!

I love this picture. He looks so happy and relaxed! He does look like he'd like to have his tummy rubbed, but looks are deceiving (sp?) ! Anyways, I can't get into TDK either, but I got this message:

The Daily Kitten is currently experiencing some technical difficulties.

We hope to be back with you before too long.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

I just went there from your link and got that message too. My Yahoo makes it sound like they won't be back. I hope TDK will be up today, I need my fix! Hello, my name is Kimberly, and I'm a Kitten-aholic! Yes, I know, that's sound familiar.

Exhibitionist FUZZ.

( I e-mailed the kittenmaster myself and he e-mailed back that they are trying to mend it and that the server they share was very busy)

Hi, my name is Jan, and I'm a Kitten-aholic too. I want my TDK!

With no "at least" about it, we have Oscar, and what a cute tummy it is. I told Paul he came to "Here Boy," and he said that wasn't very digified! I told him Oscar had been raised by A Dog, and Paul said that explained it.

I do love it when the large ones try to pass themselves off as tiny kittens. My mom has a 22 pounder who tries to "hide" from her dog under the covers.

I guess we will all be checking back all day for our TDK fix--what better for a rainy Saturday!!

Morning everyone. Oscar looks like a delight! No fair presenting your tummy like that and then not allowing a tummy rub :-)

Hi Oscar!

TDK still down. Must have been an overload of cuteness. Ya know, for no logical reason I always thought the Kittenmaster was a she (don't know why) and now I learn that it's a "he".

Kim--Are those running shoes in the background behind Oscar? Does someone in your family run? I'm off to a local 5-mile race ("fun run") this morning. I'll have to check on TDK later this afternoon.

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

Unfortunately no. The only running I do is taking my kids here and there! I'm never in one place at one time. I usually get home, take off my shoes at the computer, and get online while starting meals. I use to speed walk. Hubby is a runner though. Man I can be long winded!

what a tummy! we used to have a cat that would greet us at the door like a dog. he expected praise for a job well done when he showed us our house was still secure. he even growled when someone knocked at our door. LOL sadly our Mako is no longer with us. we hope to see his pics posted here soon. thanks for sharing that tummy with us.

Aww - what a big fuzzy boy! I'd be trying over and over to get a pet of that tummy. He looks like such a playful cutie!

I'm getting the same message on TDK - it's making me stressed. In fact, I tried TDK last night, before going to bed, and it wasn't working. I knew there wouldn't be a new picture up yet, but I just thought I'd look at old ones. Hi, my name is Karen and I'm a kitten-aholic.

i assumed the kittenmaster was a she also. but it does say "master" not "mistress". hope he gets the site back up soon. my daughter and I really look forward to seeing the kittens.we're not kitten-aholics. we don't have a problem. (denial stage)

What a beautiful big boy. Look at those hypnotizing green eyes. Love the pink paw pads and matching ears (and nose). Just too sweet.
Looks like he's saying, "You can look, but you'd better not touch!" That's the way Missy Blue Eyes is, she rolls over and presents this soft, furry tummy, and then just waits for you to give in and rub so she can HISS at you.

He's a beautiful big boy, that looks like he's full of lovens.

My Snowy is 12.2 pounds and lays on her back with her tummy showing, but when you go to pet it she rolls over. She's such a tease when it comes to her belly.

OSCAR UPDATE: JUST GOT BACK FROM THE VET. OSCAR NOW WEIGHS 15.5 LBS THE VET SAID HE'S NOT OVERWEIGHT, HE'S JUST A BIG CAT. OSCAR DOESN'T HISS, HE PRESENTS HIS BACK TO BE SCRATCHED!

MY BABY WENT TO THE VET TODAY BECAUSE HE WAS ATTACKED IN OUR OWN YARD. OSCAR IS BADLY HURT AND I'M JUST SO UPSET. HE NEVER LEAVES OUR FENCED IN YARD. HE LOVES TO BE OUT WITH THE KIDS. THIS CAT JUMPED THE FENCE AND ATTACKED OSCAR AS HE WAS WAITING FOR ME TO OPEN THE DOOR TO LET HIM IN. THE CAT PINNED HIM DOWN AND INFLICKED A LOT OF DAMAGE. SORRY TO RAMBLE, I JUST FEEL SO AWFUL. I KNOW YOU ALL CAN RELATE BECAUSE WE'RE ALL CAT PARENTS.

Anonymous said...

Oh, how horrible! I have tears in my eyes - the poor baby! Was the vet able to get him all fixed up? Is he going to be okay?

Anonymous said...

Kim, what a shock you must be suffering to have witnessed that brutal feral attack on Oscar who looks to be every ounce a lover.
Do you know the other cat? I'd trace his owners down to pay for vet bills and also insist on having their cat vetted out...what nerve of that cat! I get angry when cats behave like some poor excuse for a person...I know cats act on instinct, but that puss overstepped it's bounds...
Anyway, prayers to you and Oscar!

BTW I just got the same message about TDK and it's after 6:00PM
EST. I need my TDK "fix"..."My name is Rose and I am a kitten-holic..."

Kim I am so sorry to hear what happened to Oscar and he is such a pretty (ooops, handsome) cat. I sure hope he will be better soon. Will keep him in my prayers. When Casper lays like that I say he's playing cutesy as he does that to win back my favor when he does something wrong. Casper also does not like his belly scratched.

Oh Kim,

I'm so sorry to hear about Oscar :-( Please keep us updated!

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Please give us an Oscar update and let us know what happened and how he is doing. I just can't stop thinking about it...!

I'm sorry to freak out everyone. I'm just so shaken up. The older they get the more emotional I get. They don't heal as fast. Plus, Oscar is such a sweet cat and gets along with all animals.

He's doing ok. He has about ten absesses (SP?)know I spelled that wrong. Two of them were lanced. He's taking antibiotics. All the wounds were infected and he had a fever. He has taken up residence in my husbands closet. We all go back to sit with him and he licks our hands like crazy. If he's still not doing any better in three days then he'll have to go back and the Vet will put him under so they can go into each sore and really clean them out.

Thanks for you concern everyone. You really are my online family. I look forward to seeing you all on this site everyday. Mary Lynn, I hope I didn't sound snotty when I said Oscar didn't hiss, I was a mess and should never have said anything.

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

Thank You Karen. I wasn't sure if I replied to the right address so just in case, thank you. That was so sweet!

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Hi again, Kim,
Poor big beautiful baby Oscar. We know he is in good hands with you all there to care for him. Just cannot believe that happened! You give him a kiss for me and Missy Blue Eyes. And keep us online posted on how he is doing.
ML
PS: No, that did not sound "snotty" at all, just matter of fact. And it is a fact, Missy hisses. She would never bite or anything else, but she has a HUGE hiss on her.

I did get Oscar's reply :-) Please keep us updated on how he's doing!

Kim, I don't think you freaked anyone out. You have every right to be shook about Oscar. It does sound like he is in bad shape. What every one one this and other web site are doing is taking care of God's creatures. Including you. I still haven't come to the conclusion who needs who the most, we need the animals or they need us. The first jobs on this earth were a zoo keeper of all animals and a gardener. Goodnight and God Bless.

I am so sorry to hear about Oscar, I hope he is doing better real soon. He is a real handsome fellow and looks like a joy to be around. Don't feel bad about telling us what is going on with him, or worry about making us feel bad, we know how you feel, I would die if anything happened to my babies, they are my children!
