Yuki

This is my girl Yuki. Yuki means "snow" and she is all white like fresh snow. She has one blue eye and one green eye but hasn't shown any signs of deafness. She loves to get into any comforter she can find and take a nap. Yuki's fave place to sleep is on my chest/back/side with her front legs stretched out touching my face. -Shirley

Hello. Yuki is a beautiful girl. You took some really nice pictures. The one with her peeking out from the blanket is precious! You also named her well. Thank you Shirley, for sharing your lovely kitty with us.

Good morning everyone! Yuki is such a pretty kitty! Love the eyes and her name! I had a solid white kitty named Chaucer. He's another story, and one day I'll post him and tell it. But, he had those crystal blue eyes and unlike Yuki, was deaf as a doornail (as my granny says:) )! He loves to be vacuumed and didn't mind the blowdryer after baths. We adopted him when he was, give or take a few yrs., 15. Though his time w/us was short, he was a great cat!

*lovED (sorry Chaucer)

BTW, Linda! We want to see this Miss Kiara kitty!....ahem.....

The first one is funny, but the one with the Money is a RIOT! That poor kitty probably didn't know what in the h*ll to think! LOL! The Monkey was thinking, "Hey, this kitty likes me, think I'll take him home to meet the folks!"

When I was very young, my mother had a pure white cat (whose name I forgot ::sniff::) I was convinced it would blend into the snow, so I went and threw him into a snowdrift. A Total House Cat, thrust into a snowdrift...I was disappointed when I saw kitty seemed yellowish, but not as disappointed and SORRY when my mother found what I'd done!! Bless that cat for not making a run for it!!
Kat1, Do you know, the only way I can access TDK is through your link? (I mean the current day's kitty)..Something's screwy with Yahoo or my 3 month old computer...Oh, David said as soon as I have my film developed, he'll scan a few pics of Emily in and send them to you "for your consideration"...
Sorry for hogging akk this space!!
Things are quiet without Gheeri's servant and Rosie's verbiage exchanges!

Good Morning to all. Yuki is a sweetie. I had a white cat with one blue eye and one green eye so many years ago. She wasn't deaf either. We called her momma kitty. Poor thing had quite a few litters. That was before I became saavy about spaying. About a year after I got her spayed, she disappeared. We lived in the city then.

One little known fact about white cats and the two different eye colors is, in orfer for them to be deaf, not only are they all white, have one blue/one green eye, but they will also have a single black hair. The hair is usually on the forehead or chest. While not uncommon for there not to be a stary hair, it's not the norm either.

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

"In Orfer?" Oh my goodness! The should read "in order!"

MAN!!! I need to proof read before I hit send! That should read stray hair, not stary hair!

I give up! Even my correction needs a correction! OK, I'm done taking so much space. Space; noun; what's between my ears! LOL!

Kim! Take a deep breath....now exhale, one more...in...out. Feel better? lol My Chaucer was totally white, no srtay...J/J, stray black hair on him. He was deaf as could be. Poor thing. He didn't seem to care though.

Rose, that's weird about TDK. I'm still having problems w/Yahoo, but AOL is the online service we have. I just use Yahoo for mail. But Blogger has been slow today and Yahoo too. Dunnow what's going on. Can't wait to get pix!

How sweet she is! My Cocoa likes to put his paws on my face too. Sometimes he sleeps with his fuzzy little cheek against mine.

Yuki looks like a real sweetie pie! Thank you for sharing her with us, Shirley. I wish I could have all these cats. I have my two and there are some neighborhood cats I also spoil.
Kim, that's pretty interesting about the stray black hair, etc. I had never heard that.

"Yuki the cutie" HEHE
She just looks like a sweetheart I love the pic on the left. She looks like she has wrapped herself in her blanket for the night and is saying "do you mind, I'm in bed"?

I wish I had a cat like that Ella just refuses to be a lap cat. I thought we were making some progress cause she came in my room last night and I actually got her to sit on my bed for a few minutes, but the minute I started to move she got up and left and went back to her favorite chair to sleep. Oh well, as my mom says, that's just Ella.

......."YUKI" is Japanese for 'kitty with marbles stuffed under her whisker pouches'......fuzzduzza....

I wanted to tell everyone "thank you" for all of the wonderful comments about Yuki.

That sweet face is hiding a VERY independent cat. She will only let you pet her when she wants you to pet her. Otherwise you DO NOT touch her. If she wants you she will cry for you and expects an answer so she will know where you are in the house. EVERYTHING is on her terms. She crowned herself Queen a long time ago. Pretty good for a fuzzball born in a wood pile.

BTW she is 12 years old now and those pics are fairly current. I wish I knew her beauty secrets. I could make a fortune. LOL

Shirley

Shirley is having computer malfunctions, so I pasted her email to everyone. Kat

Yuki is a very beautiful girl. She looks like my Snow Angel ( aka Snowy) but Snowy has 2 golden colored eyes. She doesn't like to be helsh , but will sleep on the bed with us. Oh, she even pinches your fingers if you stop petting her when she wants some lovens.

We used to have an all white cat with sky blue eyes. His name was George and he could hear just fine. One night our other cat Fred came home with a friend who decided to stay. He had to be bathed pretty frequently because there was alway an oil spot on his shoulders because he didn't duck down far enough when he went under the car. He's been gone many years but we remember him fondly.

cats definitely do seem to love blankets. i went into my roommate's room the other day to find my older girl under the covers with her little head poking out, looking at me. it was quite possibly the cutest thing i've ever seen her do.
yuki is GORgeous, by the way. =)

Yuki is beautiful.
Is there really some connection between white cats with blue eyes, and deafness? I had never heard that before, but my mom has a white cat with blue eyes, and he is deaf, his sister is white with one blue one green (like Yuki) and she appears to be fine? Just wondering cause as i said never heard that before

There is a connection. Even in the Australian Shepherd breed of dog, the more white the dog had the more of a risk that it could be deaf. That was just in that breed. My parents used to raise Aussies.
