Bear Cat

Here are some pictures of my Bear Cat. He will be 2 years old this August. He is 6 months older than my daughter. The picture of the two of them is so cute, he has been her little guard cat since I brought her home. He would always sleep at her feet or even under her bouncie seat. Heck he was the first person in her walker! He had to check it out for her. Bear's birth family is a group of ferrel cats that live in the country, he had 2 littermates that were killed by the older cats about a week after I brought him into my home. He is very gentle with my daughter, heck she's even pulled a whisker out of him and he will still lay beside her and play. They love to play in the cat door that goes to the basement. It's great to watch them chase the other down the hall! He is such a sweetheart.....when he wants to be!! I hope you enjoy the pictures!! -Bridgritte

Good morning! This is Bear Cat, Max's brother. Remember in Max's post we could only see a bit of Bear Cat? Click on May archives and scroll down to find Max. Anyway, it's amazing how dark Bear was when he was a kitten. Now he looks smokey. I love his mane! What a handsome boy and such a good guard kitty, taking care of his human.

Good Morning All!!!

Bear Cat, you are so fluffy and pretty! I love the picture of Bear and the baby, I think it's so sweet that he's her protector! Them growing up together will create a special bond between them and they'll always be close. Bridgritte, thanks for sharing your beautiful babies!

Bear Cat is a wonderful guardian for your little girl. He does look like a sweetheart. Glad you were able to save him.

Morning everyone!

Hi Bear Cat!

My first reaction was similar to Kat's--how dark he was as a kitten and how much lighter he looks older. Unless that's just due to the different lighting in each picture?

He is a beautiful boy. And he appointed himself your daughter's guardian kitty-angel. So sweet.

Bridgitte, any background on how he came to get his name?

What a handsome fella. He kind of looks like my moms kittie, George.

Beautiful Baby--Beautiful Bear!! How wonderful that Bear is the Guard Cat and your baby's Companion Cat as well.

On another subject, I'm glad I no longer have to send in a picture of Flumpy--Badger is his twin, right down to the ginormous footypaws and the lovely plumey tail!

Bearcat and the baby are both lovely. It's sweet that they're such friends. I think it's great for kids to learn early about how wonderful animals are.

Imagine poor Flumpy's reaction: "Where is MY picture? Am I not an individual?" But, of course, everyone wants to see ALL of the kitties!

I just checked out the past couple days and boy did I miss some cuties. Bear cat is a good looking guard kitty. The baby is so cute!!!! Some cats are better guards than dogs. They always seem to know when they are needed.

Goodness, two cute babies. Looks like Bear is saying "touch this sweetie and I'll come after you." Yes Bridgritte, I enjoyed the pictures of your sweethearts.

.HYAK!...........Bear Cat has 'invisible FB's'...............
ahem.........was doing volunteer work as I do every Sunday at Cats Protection..I noticed that at least 3 of the cats had Green butts...do you reckon that this is something to do with the kitty litter, or have the aliens landed in North London?...................

DISCUSS.

Hmmmm Rosie. That sounds strange. So their poo is green?! Could they have been sitting on newspaper w/green pictures or something on it? What do you mean by green butts?

Hi Fuzz Family!

I adore how good a babysitter Bear is! Like he sees his baby girl as a younger sibling, and is doing his brotherly thing, protecting her and trying her new toys out first, etc. That is precious!

*HYAK* Hello Rosie!! ''tis a puzzlement, Green butted kitties...I was thinking along the lines that Kat was, the newspaper, perhaps? Or do you think the vet dewormed them with a med that would have...ahem...that side effect?? Otherwise, they're happy and purrin' and doing all other cat requirements?? I'd noticed once on "Nature" I think, that a Babboon's bum can be greenish - maybe they need diapers??

Green Butts?! GS's comment is a good one, so is Kat's. I have nothing, but I too, would like to know. Did anyone seem concerned? Was there a Vet there that volunteers? Very peculiar indeed!
LOL!!! OK, can I laugh now?!

Bear Cat is so cute as is your baby. That is so great she has a little guardian looking out for her. He really looks like a different cat all grown up. He turned into a big ball of fluff!

ptooey....excuse me, I was eating........
anyway, their fuzzy butts were green, not their poo....the cat litter isn't the 'white sand' type but(t!) these brown-ish pellets....
I love the duzzas there because I cab't have my own; green butt or otherwise................

You don't think it could be the newspaper? Had to be something they sat on...I guess.

Lol...Green-Butt Fuzz

HEART THROB ALERT!!! Missy Blue Eyes needs to go to PDJ soonest! There is a wonderful picture of Casper--as a young lad. She'll probably have a serious case of the vapors!

GREEN BUTTS? Rosie, my dear, what have you(and those kitties) been smoking?

Anonymous said...

.......ahem.....Kat1........there was no newspaper in their pens.....
maybe they sat on a leperchaun?....
......

Lol...Rosie, I hadn't thought of that! Hmmm, could be!

Love these pictures. Bridgritte, your daughter is gorgeous. What a little beauty. And Bear Cat, wow. Love the picture of him guarding her, too sweet. He is guarding her intensely.

Remember seein the bottom half of Bear Cat in Max's picture, right? Would love to see a new picture of Nicholle with both cats.

Karen C., your Grr, Cocoa and Midnight are beautiful. I remember the picture of them as babies...er, kittens.

And yes, Missy saw Casper on PDJ. I have been sick all day, just logged on, checked out Bear Cat, then went to PDJ. When I saw Baby Casper, I said the name out loud...Missy bounded up on the desk from the back bedroom. She knew who it was!

I'll try to get a photo of her looking at Casper on screen, it is just too cute. She's sitting here beside the monitor, her paw stretched out toward the picture and her head sort of resting on her arm.

ML, That is too cute! Would love to see a pic of her looking at Casper! Let us know when u post it on your "what is becoming" your site! lol! I sure hope you're feeling better tomorrow! Cold? Virus? I've been pretty lucky in the last couple years, actually. ::knocking on wood...really hard!:: Nobody in our house has been really sick. Anyway, good night all! ML, feel better!

I think Missy and Casper is unreal!! I too, would really like to see a picture of that. It gives me butterflies. Guess I'll have to tell Casper he's being stalked. LOL Again ML get well. Good Night All.

Rosie - When i worked at the shelter. I brought a blue feather boa in for the kittens to play with. Well it turned our snow white baby boy blue. Maybe someone gave them a toy that turned their lil tushies green.

bridgritte - love the pics of bear and, of course, the baby. so sweet when kitties bond w/ little ones. one of the best relationships anyone could ever have. not to mention it makes for future animal lovers. wish you could get a pic of bears little white patch on his tummy. i bet it's really cute. kimiko likes to watch my cursor occasionally. sometimes she chases it with her paw too. it is so hilarious. gotta love playful kitties.
