Charlotte

This is Charlotte, she will be 5 this October. My husband found her when she was just a baby living in a crate behind the warehouse of his office building, she was being fed spaghetti by the warehouse workers. He told me about her, and of couse I had to come see her, she was no bigger than the palm of my hand, and she had a huge spider web hanging off one of her ears, the tip of the other one had been ripped off. I told my husband if we could catch her, I was going to name her Charlotte after "Charlottes Web". After about 4 hours, we finally got caught her, and she has been our snuggle bunny ever since! The pic of her sleeping next to me, was not staged, that is where she sleeps every night! -Riquel

Charlotte is a beauty, love the pose on the left with her nose in the air. And the origin of her name, too cute. Guess your four hours of chasing really paid off. Look at that Snuggle Bunny.

Oh my goodness!!!!!!!!!!! Charolette is just so cute. I love the expressions. One of them is "what do you want" the other is "I know, I know, I am the greatest!" She is too cute. Riquel good job catching her and giving her a wonderful life. Looks like it is enjoyed by both.

P.S. How much does she weigh? She looks big. Love the big ones.

Good morning Fuzz Pack!!!!!!!!!!!!!

riquel - charlottes web is one of my favorite stories and a great idea for her name. love it! she is beautiful. love the richness of her colors. wonderful pic of her looking up. so cute. does she sleep under your covers all year round? my kimiko does most of the year except between spring/summer and again between fall/winter since we don't have to run the air/heat at those times. guess it gets too hot under the covers. i love kitties that love to snuggle. gives you the warm fuzzies inside. :) thanks for sharing your baby w/ us.

What a surprise it was to see Charlotte here this morning! She doesn't always sleep under the covers, but she is always next to me at night when we are asleep. I have to be careful that I don't knock her off the bed. You know, I don't know if she still likes spagetti or not, ha ha. Because Indigo, my other baby is a little agressive towards her, Charlotte spends most of her time upstairs, and doesn't venture into the kitchen much. But we have had popcorn and icecream in bed, and she likes both of those..ha ha. Thanks for making her the Cat of the Day, oh, at her last weigh in I think she was around 11lbs.

Loa - lol...I actually have Steppa on the list to be posted before Bossi. Steppa will be posted in a couple of days. That's so cute how you call her your little spider baby.

BTW, In case anyone was having trouble getting to Man Oh Manny from my links section...it is fixed and working now! Sorry, for any inconviences!

momsbusy said...

thanks kat1, i've been missing my manny fix.

riquel - that's so funny that she likes popcorn. my babies love ice cream (who doesn't!?) but they can't seem to get the popcorn chewed up. it just gets spit out. yucky, soggy popcorn!

LOL....My Munchkin like Cheetoes. It is funny to watch her eat them, cause you can tell when they are getting stuck in her teeth, like what happens to us. She also loves McDonald's french fries, she doesn't beg for food, but she begs for them. Only McDonald's though, we have offered her ones from Burger King, and she just turns up her nose and walks away.

No, I think Anon. is LOA, her MUS is on KP.

Riquel, you and Charlotte are just adorable; I love both pictures. Charlotte was one of my favorites growing up.

I wish I could help with Grace and her babies...at this distance, purrs and good wishes are about it. I don't even have any relatives in the HOU area...or I'd be calling them.

Your right meowmepurr, it is Loa, she is old and forgetfull...LOL I only say that cause she is my mom! Thanks everyone for your sweet comments about Charlotte. If I knew my husband wouldn't kill me or divorce me I'd say box Grace and her babies up and FEDX them to me!

OMG when I first saw Charlotte's picture, she reminded me so much of my Ella! Her neck and paws are white too, Ella just has little a different coloring. Ella even sits the same way! I sometimes tease her that she looks like a big butterball cause she will sit like that and you can't see her legs. I love the pic on the right too its so cute how your kitty will sleep with you. I wish Ella would sleep with me sometimes, but she's not the snuggle type. Great story about how you rescued her. She defintely seems like one content kitty now.
The pictures of Grace and her babies are just adorable, I really wish I lived closer where I could help. I hope they find a good home.

Charlotte is just beautiful. I love her markings and her expression and her snuggly habits. Riquel, bless you for rescuing her.

One of my kitties liked Cheetos, too, but he wouldn't actually eat them. I had to pick out a nice big one and hold it - turning it as necessary - until he'd licked off all of the cheese.

Love Charlotte's picture as she is saying I'm am the cutest thing around............and she is!! Love that face. She looks so cute all snuggled up under the covers.......please do not disturb me.

Sure am glad you caught her. It sure isn't easy trying to catch a cat that is afraid. I think if they could only know what their life would be like after they are caught the wouldn't be so hard to catch. At least most of the time.

Thanks for sharing Charlotte with us Riquel.

Miss Liptits?!!! Girl, you some seious therapy!!! J/J!!! You know we love ya! And what's this about the left FB?!

We need to have a Kat's Cat convention! LOL! That would be fun! And Rosie, you would have to cross the pond!

Good Evening Everyone!

Riquel, you have a very beautiful baby girl. I just love her name, and how you came to naming her that.

RIQUEL--My g-nephew was being rude to his mother, so I said, "Egan, don't be a poop to your Mom!" He looked me straight in the eye and said, "Auntie, don't you mean 'Don't be a Sh-- to your Mom?'" He's almost 6, and has learned the adult version of one of our family sayings! SO, Riquel, don't be a s--t to your Mom!

ML--Thank you so much for the wonderful pictures and text about Grace and her babies. I have passed it on to my sister, who is passing it on to her nation-wide quilters list!! I'm with Riquel, could Deb just Fedex the whole family to me? I'm especially taken with Brutus, even if he is a bully. He is very much the same color as our dear Thomas was, and it sounds like a personality match too!

Dear Paul sez the only thing that worries him about me hanging with the Fuzz Pack is that you are a bunch of "Kitten enablers!" I smarted him right back by telling him I would just wait until I was a widow to be "That Crazy Cat Lady!!" End of discussion~!

Mumma,
LOL!! You go girl! You tell that "evil" man person! J/J, I don't really mean that! That he's evil that it!

I have to tell you all a story that is a typical "Man" story. I shared it with Kat today and think you might shake your head too.
Well, you all know that we have a new cat, Simon. Alan told me when he decided that we could keep him that I shouldn't expect him to get to close to the cat. Last night as he and I were sitting on the couch, Simon jumped up on Alan's lap. Alan pushed him off and said "down you damn cat". I told him to be nice, then I got up to go to the kitchen for a drink. When I came back, Simon was on Alan's lap being pet and purring up quite a storm. When I was noticed, he pushed the cat back on the floor and told him to go away. MEN!!! He's a one cat man, he says that Oscar probably thinks he's being replaced. The truth is, Alan loves animals as much as I do and is as big a sucker as me, too!

Meowmepurr's Mumma - Have you read the book "Cats Who Quilt" by Judy Heim? She used to have a technical column in PC World back in the 90's. The book is great. Here's a link to it http://www.catswhoquilt.com/index.html. You can read a great portion of the book online.
I love how you call Charlotte spider baby, too, so cute, especially when you know the story.

Great News -- One of my neighbors is a manager for PetSmart. She is working around the clock to open a new store here in Houston. Finally got in touch with her, she will be off Saturday and come over with a list of resources and rescue agencies in the area that she trusts. She said it shouldn't take long to find them homes, as they are so cute and healthy. And it is a holiday weekend.

momsbusy said...

great job ml!!!!! i am sure grace and her babies will be purring when they hear the news.

Emma's Kat said...

That's great ML. That would be awesome to have a PetsMart there in Houston too. Good luck Grace & babies. Sounds like they're on their way to forever homes!

I'm going to get Lisa the websites for you and PDJ and see if she can access them on her store computer!!! Then all the pet lovers could not see the most gorgeous cats in the world, but the best sites as well. There are other PetSmart stores here, but I was waiting for Lisa, since she is a manager that I happen to be friends with and her mother lives next to me!!!

I know you're all in bed and I'm heading that way over here on the west coast but let me just say that that is wonderful news about PetSmart and the "Grace family".

Charlotte is a beautiful kitty and, like everyone else, love the story of how she got her name. Thank you everyone (especially ML) for all the comments and prayers sent for Grace & Company! They are the cutest kittens! Grace is a wonderful cuddle cat! The Fuzz Pack is amazing!

Okay, Fuzz Pack, just sent an email and photos to STAAR Pals (http://www.staarnet.org/pages/contact.htm).
CAPS (Citizens for Animal Protection -- http://www.cap4pets.org/) has reps inside of Petsmart and Saturday viewings, will wait until I hear from Lisa to see when we can set that up.
Still waiting, the nurse doesn't want a kitten, but her sister might. Waiting to hear...!
If anyone has any suggestions, ideas, please please please let Deb or I know.
