Love her coloring! Check out Bear Cat's comments one last time, as him momma left a comment last night/early morning.

Elise,

Isabella is a very pretty girl. She does seem relaxed in front of the camera. Love the coy pose. She must have tons of personality.

OK, someone was asking me if I knew the address for the Daily Puppy. Can anyone tell me what it is? Donna, wasn't it you who said it was a great site? If anyone can think of any other great dog/puppy sites, let me know so that I can pass on the info. Thanks fuzz family.

Kim, I don't know if this is the same daily puppy everyone was talking about as, honestly, I haven't visited it. Well, maybe a while ago. Anyways, I just entered www.dailypuppy.com and got The Daily Puppy. Cute little pups!

Dang, Moms! J/K! I have a couple of pix of mini-Bagheera and Catalina. Maybe I'll email them to the Fuzz Pack. Gonna do another foster Flickr box when, and if (j/j), I ever get my film developed! I need to check out these eagles! I tried to when Dee 1st posted the site on TDK, but couldn't get it to work. So, I'll try again. Probably operator error!

Morning all!

Well, hello Isabella! What a pretty baby-girl she is.

Yes, dailypuppy.com is the right site. Another set of sites is dogoftheday.com, catoftheday.com, and petoftheday.com and they're all linked together.

I read Bear's momma's comments from last night. It is very cute how he got his name! Thanks for telling us.

Kat your e-mail this morning had me cracking up...especially the one with the cat in the window LOL

Good Morning all and good morning to you too Isabella. I bet you are Queen of the house too! Really like your markings, unusual but very pretty. Love your white tipped paw.

I first visit TDK, Katscat, PDJ, then I head over to TDP (Daily puppy) and on to the Pets of the day that contain Dog, Cat and pet. Then my morning is gone.

Thanks Elise F, for sharing Queen Isabella with us.

Isabella is beautiful, and her expression says she is indeed a sweetheart. I love her little white paws too!

Kathleen - I would start putting shredded newspaper on top of the clay litter and see if that does the trick. She might just be confused.

Karen & all - Boca is going home tonight or tomorrow!!!! Yeah!! It sounds like he's gonna have a great new home! I went to visit him today at PetsMart and he was strangely quiet, but rubbing my hand like crazy! I think that's one of the hardest parts of fostering for me...leaving them all by themselves in a strange place w/strange noises and smells and in that metal non-cozy cage. Luckily, they not there too long and it is necessary in order for them to get adopted.
BTW, little mini-B finally ate on her own! I was having to give her water thru a dropper and food off my finger. I was really starting to get worried because she's just so small. I didn't want her to get dehydrated! But, finally, she ate (and ate good!)! She hates her meds though. She foams at the mouth. If only they knew it was getting them better!

Hi again, pretty Isabella!

So what kind of litter do you all use?

We have two litter boxes for our 3 cats and we use the clump-able, flush-able S'Wheat. It's supposed to be natural wheat stuff.

As for maintenance, Bil scoops in the morning and I scoop in the evening, every day.

This brand can be a bit dusty but otherwise seems to work very well. Although Kona tends to bury his paws while he's covering up his business and my little black kitty-boy comes out with gray paws. I tease him and tell him I know where he's been :-)

Side note: to, errrr, poop, Kona balances on the edge of the box with all 4 paws on the edge. When done, he steps out of the box then back in to cover (when he then covers his feet up to his "knees").

Do any of your kitties have similar "quirks"?

Anonymous said...

My Indigo, will sit there and watch while my husband changes our 2 cat boxes, when he finally gets done she jumps in, doesn't do anything just gets in and arranges the sand to her liking, and then she gets in the other one, and does the same thing....strange.

Emma's Kat said...

Once I'm done scooping, either Benj or Emma, sometimes both, will come and although they have been watching me prepare to scoop and then scoop everything...they will (only once I'm done and have tied the bag) come and go potty in the freshly scooped box!! Stinkers!

Anonymous said...

Oh, Kat1, ours are also notorious for wanting to be first...to use the "minty fresh" box. Wiley is the worst offender. She, too, will watch and wait for us to be done. So funny.

Maddie's nickname is "Ms. Flicklitter" because she would flick litter around rather vigorously while covering. As in all over the floor just outside the box, mounds of it!

Interestingly, after we switched her diet to this Innova EVO, she hardly flicks at all. Just the normal covering. She's had urinary problems in the past and my theory is that this food "cured" whatever had been her problem. When she was "sick" she tried so hard to cover it so her "enemies" would not be able to tell she's "ill". Now that she's fine, her business must smell normal...or something like that.

Karen, now old is Midnight? Kona used to want to play in the box when he was a kitten but not after he got older. I've never tried the crystal-type before.

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

I scoop everyday. Even though we have two cats, we only have one box. Oscar likes to go potty outside. He's so big that he doesn't feel confident in the box, even though it's a large box. Simon is a little peepot! He can fill a box! What is it and cats wanting to "go" as soon as we're done scooping?! Simon will wait at the side of the box, very excited and raring to go. As soon as I tie the bad, in he goes!

....ahem..........sorry I'm late...
been up to fuzzy hijinx...kinda like Isabella has...the only difference is-I look more innocent.

My crew will wait for me to be done scooping as well then will get in. Although Pounce and Snowy try covering their business with the side of the bathroom cabinet. I use the scoopable stuff from Wal-Mart. it works just as good as the othe stuff.

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

katnippia, me too. It's also not as dusty as some of the name brand litters out there. It has a fresh scent and really seems to control the odor.

Emma's Kat said...

Donna, hooded boxes are a must in my home. Marley (pre-hood) would scoot to the edge of the box and pee down the side (in & out) of the box! And Emma loves to kick litter out of the box! So hooded's the way to go in my house!

Karen - Could be just that she grooms herself more that the other two. Does she groom regularly? My Marley doesn't lick/groom himself hardly ever and he sheds like crazy!

Emma's Kat said...

Yes, Katnippia, you did it....and now you must send pictures!!!! Muahhahaha! (Sorry GS, had to do it) lol

Our boxes actually have hoods/lids but they all prefer them without. Especially Kona...it was tricky for him to balance in the doorway for his #2 ;-)

Wiley wizzes down the side but on the inside only, thank goodness. Maddie copied Wiley for awhile with that then stopped and just went in the middle again.

It is so funny the similar behaviors amongst all of our fur-babies.

Karen, our Maddie is the one most likely to yark up a furball. She doesn't have long hair, but she seems to shed more than the other two and she tends to have dandruff. Wiley, who has the longest hair of our three, and the softest and silkiest, hardly ever coughs one up. Go figure. I think Maddie simply has a touchier GI system as well.

We have 2 litter boxes for 4 cats and we buy the clumping cat litter from Costco. I scoop in the morning, when I get home from work, and before going to bed. Pumpkin comes running when I'm scooping and wants to grab the scooper. When he was smaller, I would cradle him in one arm while scooping, but now that he's bigger, I just block him with one hand while scooping with the other. Then he jumps in and either uses it or plays in the box! He's the worst offender of throwing sand out of the box. Bebe will do his business, then scratch OUTSIDE the box to cover up! The other night, I saw Pumpkin jump in after Bebe left the wet spot uncovered and cover it for him. SO CUTE!

Both Tiger and Blackie will stand on the edge with just one foot in the box when doing business #2 but not when peeing. And they're very good about covering up.

By the way, Isabella is a very pretty cat. Does the white paw disqualify her from being described as a tortoiseshell kitty? My Pageaday cat calendar said the following: "The color patterns of tortoiseshell and calico cats are easily recognizable. The tortie is black with red or orange markings, while the calico is white with patches of red, orange and black."

Emma's Kat said...

Karen - Where have you been girl?! Just kiddin'! Tiger and Bebe have been posted! Pumpkin is in the works.
Linda W. - Blackie pix??!!

Anonymous said...

LOL! Okay, okay I'll work on getting you Blackie pics. Trouble is, with an all black cat, I end up with a black blob with two glowy eyes. I'll try on the weekend when it's sunny outside.

Isabella, you're such a pretty girl. I just had to say it again!

karen c - i agree we need a list of usernames, real names and kitties names for each of us to keep everything straight. wouldn't hurt if we knew what state/country and who is related to whom also. i get confused sometimes with all of the running commentaries.

litter box funny story. disclaimer - no animals real or stuffed were harmed during the course of this story. except the two legged one who laughed her hiney off.

i just purchased one of those self scooping litter boxes. well, i filled it up and plugged it in but didn't turn it on. yuki watched me fill it up and then went to check it out. seemed innocent enough. "ooooo clean litter." crouch really low and gotta get closer... closer... sniff sniff. "looks a bit strange but it's a box." then i couldn't resist. i turned it on and it automatically scoops to smooth out the litter. yuki almost jumped out of her skin backwards to get away. since she takes GREAT offense in being laughed at i was not laughing out loud. but was about to burst from the inside out. she didn't find it amusing at all. at this point i fIgured she would never use the box and i would have wasted my money. but she uses it and then waits (at a distance) for it to scoop itself. she keeps an eye on it when she is in the room. just in case.

LOL! That is too funny!
