Sassy & Spats

Spats is a tortie with four white paws, so my husband thought they looked like old-fashioned "spats". So that is how she got her name. My daughter was quite taken with the white spot on Sassy's ear. She was calling her "White Spot on Ear". My husband was convinced that she needed an Indian name, so he named her "Sasquatch". I think he was actually thinking of Sacogewea, but Sasquatch it was. (she does have big feet!) Sassy for short! -Deb T.

Good morning everyone! I had a hard time picking which pix to post of Sass and Spats! They are just too cute together!! I love the look of total...oh! what's a good word??!...enjoyment? on Sassy's face! Can't think of a good word. Someone help! Anyway, they are just adorable and beautiful! Deb, do they always sleep together?! All the pix I have, they are together. So cute!

How's everyone doing? Kathleen, we are anxious to hear how the girls are doing! It's still kinda soon for them to be showing any real interest in each other, I guess. I have a surprise for ya tomorrow. I know, I give it all away! :)

Valinda - I too love your name! I worked w/a Valinda close to 15 yrs. ago. Never had heard the name before or since...until now. Anyway, good to see ya at the site again! Can't wait to see, Buddy. Buddy right?

Kim, How ya holdin' up?

Loa - You are too funny! I was reading your comments made this morning on Schmoo's post! LOL!

Btw, Sorry I was late w/the post! Couldn't get my hubby off the computer!

I think maybe a good word would be extacy, pleasure, or just good old love.

These two are absolutely aborable. I love when kitties get along so well.

Kat I was curious about where you were. You took too long.

How is everyone?

Gotta check out my venter site.

Spats and Sassy are so cute. Love the way they just seem to want to be as close as possible to each other. I'm catching up on all the sites, missed you guys while we were in Tennessee but had a wonderful time and enjoyed driving through the Smokey Mountains-just beautiful.

GOOD MORNING LADIES! I think these two sibs are so close! They are so beautiful and oviously happy together! It's wonderful that they weren't seperated! They still look so much like their Momma! It's cute how they sleep together in the kitty bed, they picture on the right tells the truth though, not really room enough for two. Sassy appears to be in control of the bed!

Hi Kat, I'm ok. I can't stop thinking about Sean. It also doesn't help that Duncan keeps telling me that he misses his brother, too. I know Sean is doing well and having a great time. And you know what they say, no news is good news! I just hope that he'll want to come home on Friday! LOL!

ladies, ck out the cute overload site for a pic of two extra fluffy kitties sleeping together. way too cute.

kim, my daughter won't go to camp without me. she's still a mommy's girl. *loving sigh* i know someday she will and i will be just like you.

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

Hi Claire! I was thinking of you yesterday. So glad the trip was a nice one!

LOA, you are so funny! Simon really like "bear in the Big BLue House", that's a children's program on Disney. Anyway, Sean has a few stuffed "Bears". One of them is a big one, about two feet long. Simon likes to drag him all over the house and leave him in places that he thinks we won't look. We've found Sean's little "Bears" in this spot all the time! That's really all he likes to steal.

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

Hi Mom! How old is your daughter? It really is hard to let them go off to camp! I think it's important in their social developement but that doesn't mean that it's easy for us or them to let go. Sean's six, I've probably mentioned that before, and he was so excited to go! He was kind of confused that I wasn't staying too, but got over that pretty quick. :(

Good Morning Fuzz Family !!!!!!

Spats, and Sassy, both of you are very beautiful girls. i wish my guys would snuggle up like the two of you do.

Hope everyone is doing well, have a wonderful day everyone.

kim, my daughter, ashley, is 9 years old. of course she thinks she is about 25. it doesn't help she has two grown sisters (30 and 27) with their own children. she became an aunt at 4. at least she does spend the night w/ friends. not often but she does go and stay the whole night. i think most boys are a little more adventurous.

Valinda- Yes, I did get your email and picture of adorable Buddy the cat! And everyone has to wait to see him...na na nana na! Lol You must have it set up to send you a copy.

GS - Did you get your email from Valinda?

Where is GS!? We didn't hear from you yesterday here at Kat's Cat! We missed you here! Hope all is well.

Morning everyone.

Hello Spats! Hi Sassy!

They really are so adorable together. I've never owned two kitties who would snuggle together. Maddie allowed it for a few short weeks when Kona was still a kitten, but after he got older, she no longer wanted to cuddle with him. Oh well. Now, if Kona and Wiley are with 12" of each other on our bed, we make a big deal about it! :-)

Katnippia said...

Oh, Kat1, I've been meaing to ask did you get that email awhile ago with Snowy's pic. If not let me know ok.

Spats and Sassy are so adorable, especially the way they snuggle together. They really fill up that pet bed. And what pretty markings. Too sweet. Now these are Summer's girls, right? What an enchanting family of cats Deb has.

Good Morning! How exciting to open the page & see my twins! Sassy & Spats are two years old as of today! They each weigh around 8lbs. They always snuggle, play & bath each other. Sassy is the more adventurous one & Spats is more a lap kitty, mainly my lap where she is sitting right now! I think how Sassy got her name is LOL as well. True story! Most of the time, Sassy is lying on Spats, cleaning her ears. They are adorable! I heard from Grace's mommy and Grace & the twins are doing great!

Hi My Fuzz Family!

I hae a squirming Marigold in my lap. She WAS snoozing but I had to go move a centimeter and Bingo!
I have to go have a quick look for Brutus, brb...ok, he was sleeping on top of my TV Throne. The two of them sleep there, mostly. They know where my bed is, but they just come up to play. In order for me to go to bed, I have to wake them up by removing their sleeping little selves from my body. Emily's attitude towards them improves by the hour, and she SO wants to join in the chases, but she's being "cool" I guess...won't last!
Loa, I ADORE Schmoo and his lil ol' klepto heart! Nah, as it has been said, you would never send him packing! Careful, there are plenty of takers here if we, for a millisecond thought you were serious!

Spats and Sassy looks like they couldn't care less the bed's a size smaller than would accomodate the two of them! Kat, you're right about Sassy's look of sheer pleasure at her sister's attention to her facials! They're so, umm, what do I want to say? Umm- BLOOMING with Good Health and Lovin'! All of Deb's Feline FuZZ look so HEALTHY, don't they? And HAPPY, HAPPY!!

I was on TDK yesterday, ganging up on some dude that INSISTS cats MUST be declawed...Dude should have a reptile...he has NO BUSINESS having warm blooded critters with FuZZ of any kind!
He went back to defend himself as a "very intelligent and successful man"...yeah, that changes everything. Get out of our road, dude! Intellegent...what part of "AMPUTATION' did he NOT understand?! Ptoooey!!!

Kim, this must feel like the Longest Week on record for you! Friday will be here soon! When I worked for my father in the summer months, he got really busy, since his customers sent their kids away, like, for 6-8 weeks, and had us come in to repaint their rooms while they were gone. I guess the kids were used to it, but gosh, I remember just lovin' to habg out at home, writing tp penpals and making up stories to write...I got to go to Riding day camp for 2 weeks, but I decided I didn't learn much, and the other girls really did "outclass" me.

Last night, I was e-mailing and just surfing, and without realizing, both Marigold and Brutus were in my lap, wrestling, then they'd get on top of the table and walk across the keyboard, tip-toed over the mouse a few times, right-clicking more than I dare to, they probably did an upgrade for me! Honestly, not because of their keyboard adventures, but I find myself calling Marigold "Mary Lynn"!

Gosh, Brutus hasn't had Iced Tea since Saturday when he snuck a few slurps, but he is one wired FuZZ!!
Everytime I pick them up, I'll kiss their bellies three times, once for Momma Deb, once for Tatum and once for Sloane, then I kiss them from me. This morning, Brutus turned his head in such a way I ended kissing him on his underdeveloped LipTits! He had his mouth open and everything...Hey Rosie, you ever come across a nice black leather collar with studs, LMK, OK?! Actually, when I first met Theo, David's cat, I was a little apalled that he had a Harley Davidson collar on him! I was like "Tsk, just like a man!" But that collar suited that little Bengal, who I distinctly remember as having liptits...just didn't know the proper word for them at that time! There's a Harley dealership just up the road from me, actiually. I took Emily's collar off her over a year ago, and never bothered to replace it. I need to, I guess, since she's become a "door darter". I see Spats and Sassy have pretty matching collars on...anyone know of an on-line site that offers good stuff at even better prices??
Thanx in advance!

Moms, how are you feeling? Still a little tickle in the throat? BE GOOD!!

I'll cut this short ("HUH?!")

Chat later!

OK LADIES, this breaks my heart to have to do, but I have a kitty that needs a home. Since bringing Simon into our home, Alan's Asthma has gotten way out of control. This happened with our last Siamese too. Simon is a different breed of Siamese so we thought it wouldn't be a problem. The Doctor told him yesterday that is was Simon for sure. He also said that Oscar might be an issue too, but I find that hard to believe as we've had him for 8 years and my husband's Asthma has been a slight problem for about 5 years. However, since Simon's arrival into our house, Alan can't breath and constantly uses his inhalers. It's getting really bad and I've been afraid this was coming. My husband though, he has not asked me to find Simon a new home. But I see him wheeze and have to go outside so much. He's had to have everything in the guestroom cleaned, he has the Ionic Breeze, and the door is closed, all so he can sleep. But that is barely working. He's also having allergy testing done to make double sure that Simon is really the problem. So anyway, because I love both my husband and Simon, I really need to find him a home. If y'all can ask around I would greatly appreciate it. Below are what you should know.

He's between 9 months to a year. He's a Flame Point Siamese. He's very playful as he's still kind of a kitten. He's loveable and loves to be carried. He's VERY patient with young children! He loves stuffed animals. He weighs 9 lbs. He gets along with other cats, don't forget, we have Oscar. He is so beautiful and such a love kitty! I don't want to give him away but I have to. I'm so torn by this decision! OK, I'll end here and go cry in private now.

Emma's Kat said...

Wow...I think that was a world record!! I love your comments! Cut this short...hah! :) And you know, I was wondering if that wasn't the Imposter impersonating Thomas. Hmmmm...I thought I remembered a Thomas posting before and him being a good guy. But, maybe not! Who knows!

Val- Yes I did get the pic of Snowy girl! She will be posted in a few days!

The Royals and Gentleman Beau said...

Oh Kim, I'm so sorry about your husband's allergies...do you think you can train Simon to be agreeable to a bath once a week? I knew this College student who used to be in shows where I stage managed, and he was very allergic to cats but wanted one in the worst way. He went to adopt a little tuxedo kitty, and bathed him I think it was once a week, and they co-existed comfortably...
If all else fails, each state has a breed specific rescue group, but I am praying that won't become necessary. Your husband sounds like a very sweet man. :)

Kat, there IS another Thomas who is Very sweet, and he will always "sign" his post with a "T". He posted late on the site asking everyone to "please" not mistake him for the "other" Thomas.
The Kind Thomas said he has PTSD and sounds like he is in real pain...I'm gonna e-mail him later...

Oh Kim, I'm so sorry about Simon and Oscar. I have asthma myself and although the cats have been somewhat of an issue when I was last tested for allergies my doctor said that I'm now not as allergic to cats (very little at this point), as I am dogs and horses because we have had cats in the house for about 24 years and I've built up an immunity. I wish that were so for your husband because I know how frightening an attack can be. They are both such beautiful cats but it must be so hard to face losing them. I hope for the best for all of you. I've forgotten where you live? Please let me know.

Spats and Sassy are adorable. I like the pic of the ear washing. I bet that feels good! LOL.
They are just too cute.

The Royals and Gentleman Beau said...

Momsbusy, PTSD is a REAL psych diagnosis, it's Post Tramatic Stress Disorder. Many vets returning from war have it, along with crime victims, victims of abuse, etc. It became kind of "famous" for a while after 9/11.

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

Claire, I live in Northern Arkansas. I figured I'd post here because I trust everyone on this site.

Loa, Yep, actually thought of giving my husband away instead! LOL! He's a super great guy, but alas, he doesn't like to dance AT ALL! Bummer!!!!

Rose, I will try that. Bathing the cat every so often may work. Oscar would be easier as he's big and fat. Simon will be harder though, he's small and fast!

Anonymous said...

Spats and Sassy are just adorable! beautiful colors and eyes! i love how they are so cuddly and hanging out. she looks so happy with the kitty kisses! their little 'necklaces' are cute too. lol...

Anonymous said...

I think it's sweet to see Sassy in both places. Like I commented on PDJ, it's proof that these two are occasionally apart. They're just sisters, not conjoined twins. :-)

Anonymous said...

Ok, Kim, I had forgotten where everyone is located and hoped that you were closer so I could tell friends about adorable Simon-he is a very handsome boy!!! I'm in Michigan. A Siamese rescue group might be the best choice or we have adopted 3 cats through PetSmart, so I'm big on their adoption program. I do wish you the best in finding the right place for him.

momsbusy said...

rose, i thought that was what it might stand for. wasn't sure. figured it was better to ask and be sure. yes i know it is real. so sad there are those that don't think some veterans really have this disorder while they (the complainers) are enjoying their freedom to speak out. sorry. i am pro-military. i know what it is like to not have my dad around when i was growing up and how close he came to not coming home. as they say "freedom isn't free" i amight need to go to danni's site.

Anonymous said...

Karen, that's what I've heard too. More people are allergic to cat's saliva than their dander; but it's the dog dander that dog-allergic people suffer from.

They have wipes for bathing animals? Maddie tends to have dandruff and seems to shed more than our other two. I wonder if something like that would hurt or help her...

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

Karen, I will try that! I have to go to Little Rock to pick Sean up on Friday. I know that there is a Petsmart, so that's where I'll start. The closest pet store is in Sringfield, MO. My town is so small that there really aren't that many services here. I think Alan will like this idea, he really doesn't like the idea of finding a home for the cat. He knows that everyone would be crushed.

Emma's Kat said...

GS - No worries!! I think it's cool! Figured I'd address that here too. We get to see them apart and a great pic, I must say, of Sassy girl!

Rose: Don't worry, Auntie Deb will send all three kitties safety-collars. They are break-away collars made especially for cats. Does Emily have a color preference? I figure blue is an obvious choice for Brutus, Yellow for Marigold.

Thanks for the compliments -- Sassy & Spats

Anonymous said...

For our kitties' harnesses, the colors went like this:

Maddie - purple, the color of royalty 'cause she thinks she's the queen of all she surveys.

Kona - yellow/gold, our Rasta kitty, and because it goes with his eyes and looks so good against his black fur.

Wiley - blue, just because it looked so good on her. I would have preferred green but they didn't have a green I liked. But with Wiley's colorings, just about any color would have worked.

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

Karen, I will eventually shop online. My kids LOVE Petsmart and Petco! Especially Petsmart because of all the animals. I get to shop while Alan takes the kids around to see animals. It's always a good time for us. But I'm a huge online shopper so that will be how it goes most of the time.

Anonymous said...

Kim-I've also read that it is the saliva that people are allergic to. Bathing him sure is worth a shot. My daughter was recently tested for allergies and is now on twice weekly injections. Her doctor didn't tell us we has to give our pets away, but he did say to make sure they are not allowed where she sleeps. He gave me a catalog of products for people with allergies. I haven't ordered it yet, but I am supposed to encase her mattress and pillows with special coverings to keep the dust mites away. You might need to steam clean any upholstered furniture (that Simon lays on) to get it under control, and then hopefully, regular baths, or rubdowns with wipes will keep it under control.

Spats and Sassy are so cute! They have interesting names too! I like it when kitties cuddle up together. Its a double sized pile of fluff!

Valinda--Don't worry, I can't always keep everyone straight either. I work 50 hours a week and I have to play catch up at least once a week. The fuzz family keeps growing and I've been thinking I need to keep a list of everyone matching them with their furry children--sort of a Fuzz Family Tree! Its also hard for me to keep up with all the web sites. But I keep trying. So many kitties, so little time (heavy sigh!)

Katnippia said...

Kim, i am so sorry that you might have to give Simon away. You might want to try a siamese rescue group to help you.

Karen S. - We are currently compiling a fuzz list of everyone's names, email addresses and kitties. You are on the list and ML has been working on it. Speaking of ML...ML where are you?! Busy day?

Hi Fuzz Pack,
Miss you...just one day away...
Just got up to feed & walk the poor "neglected" poodle. Love the idea of the "Fuzz Family Tree".
I have one in the beginning stages, have some additions from Kat to add. Anyone who wants on this list, send your info thru Kat -- I guess???
Sorry I've been AFK, but that bronchitis hit again. Running a high fever, headache, sore throat, cough. The works.
Feel a bit better today, haven't woke up enough to really tell. Well, poodle is at the door...later,
ML
