In September of 1997, a little kitten popped out of the underbrush by our mailbox on a cold rainy night. He was dripping wet and shivering from the cold. I asked him if he was out by himself, and he said, "YEEAAHH!!" Then I asked him if he had a home, and he said, "YEEAAHH!!!" and climbed up my pant leg. Our "little" Flumpy has been with us ever since. As you can see, he has grown to be 16 pounds of fluff, with serious Catitude. We are "The Staff," and he is not shy about demanding what he wants. He does, however, love his little Meepsie; he protects her from Shep the Dog and anything else she doesn't like. He will even go snake('nakipoo) hunting in the garage with her. Although you can't see it in these pictures, he has a beautiful fluffy white tummy, which is sometimes available for Fuzz Therapy. He sleeps in the bed with us, usually "flumped" against Paul. Flumpy gives good solid head bumps, sits up to be patted(when he feels like it), and is a champion napper. He is absolutely gorgeous! And he looks huge compared to Miss Meowmepurr!! Then again, she's very petite, right Jan? How much does she weigh? I love his fluffiness and white smudged face! Good Morning all my Fuzz Sisters(and the occasional Brother)- Thank you for all your kind comments about Paul's "Tiny Kitten." Whenever we go away, Paul says, "Can't I just put him in my pocket? No one will notice him." Yeah, right--as if anyone "won't notice" 16 pounds of fluffy Catitude!! His 9th purrthday is next tomorrow, so this is a wonderful present for him. Thank you, Kat!
Yes, that is Little Miss Meowmepurr, herownself next to him. She now weighs 6 pounds and will celebrate her 5th purrthday next month.

ML(ROFL-sorry), Yes, we are owned by 2 cats: Flumpy and Meowmepurr(aka Meepsie), and Shep the Dog.
Flumpy's Story also has a strange twist to it. My Dad died in September of 1996; as you can imagine, that was a very hard time for me. I was not looking forward to the 1st anniversary, and had been trying to figure out what to do that day so I didn't just sit and cry. The night before the anniversary is when Flumpy appeared in our lives. I still think he was Sent, and I think it was Dad who pointed him in the right direction!! Who knows? But it helps...

Been AFK most of the day - huh, it's only 9:45 here -- seems longer. Been trying to straighten out a Medicare problem for Charley (since he is disabled he is under Medicare early). We were just informed this morning that his home health care and in home medical care was canceled. So I've been and will be on the phone all day. Argggghhhhh.
Good luck w/that ML!! Now, it's probably so simple, but I've been racking my little brain, trying to remember what AFK stands for!!! Please, someone put me out of my misery!

Well, it's kinda fixed. Back in February, Charley's employer (was HL&P, 25+ years) said his paid company insurance would no longer cover him, he would have to go to Medicare. No problem. Medicare scheduled to being coverage 7/1. In March, Charley decides Humana would be a better way to go. Signs up for it, joins in late March. In May, two months before anything -- Medicare, Humana -- goes into effect, he decides to drop Humana and go with just Medicare. Have a letter from Humana dated 6/20 stating it has been canceled, but may take a couple of months to actually terminate. Meaning his home health care, nurse, medical, everything is just "up in the air". Arghhhhhhhhhhhh.
He filed a complaint today against Humana. Medicare says it is Charley's fault for not complaining earlier. Since neither had gone into effect, he did not foresee a problem. Oh, fool.
That's about it. Everybody is blaming us and saying just wait and see now that the complaint has been filed.
Oh, did I say it yet: arghhhhhhhhhhhh.

Great! Remember how embarassed I was about the FB's? for everyone else, When Missy was featured on KCOTD, Rosie [who else] made a comment about FBs. I wondered and wondered about it. Finally, thoroughly embarassed to not know but not being able to stand it any longer, I emailed Kat, who quickly explained it to me.

So happy to finally see the famous Flumpy! He's nearly 3 times the size of Meowmepurr. She's smart to have such a large protector. I love the big fluffy ones. So much to cuddle.
And yes, there's something about computers that attract cats. I think that we spend so much time at them, the kitties want to see what's so interesting. I'd be at my computer and suddenly the laser printer will start printing though I didn't send a print job. Turns out that Pumpkin in sitting on the printer and put his paw on the button to print a test page!

Missy loves when the printer prints, she is so intense watching the paper slowly and noisily (sp?) exiting the printer. Then she'll sit and stare for a while just in case it's going to do it again.

Thank you ALL for all your kind words about my "kids." Right now, it's hot enough that the 'nakipoos are sleeping--elsewhere, thank Heaven! And, yes, she brings them in(just little garden snakes), both dead AND alive! Paul is in charge of dead things, but I'm the Live snake wrangler. Usually I just sweep them into my standing dust pan and put them out.
