Kat's Korner >^..^<

There are people who reshape the world by force or argument, but the cat just lies there, dozing; and the world quietly reshapes itself to suit his comfort and convenience.--Allen and Ivy Dodd

**There will be no cat of the day on weekends now. I've decided to just start posting during the week, Mon.-Fri., since there are not many visitors on the weekend. I will however keep Kat's Korner up, so I and those who want to chat on Saturday & Sunday can!!**

**Please make sure you visit Bari's foster family at www.cathappy.com. They are in the Texas area and need forever homes!**

**Also, don't forget to visit Emma at her new blog: A Blog for Emma **

Good morning! I just love this picture! Too funny! I am having trouble w/some of the words in the post disappearing, but we can use our handy highlighting knowledge and click Control A to highlight it!! Just make sure your cursor is in the body of the paragraph.

So how is everyone this Sunday, day before a brand new week! Just ruined your happy thoughts, huh? Lol! Sorry!

Kim - so glad your home safe and sound! How is Sean? Hope he heals quickly!

My throat is killing me this morning! Yes!, I've been taking my meds! But other than that I felt much better yesterday and I'm feeling pretty good this morning. Hopefully the sore throat will go away soon! Don't think I'm going to church today. Btw, as far as not posting cats on Sat. and Sun., don't you think it best?? We'll still have Kat's Korner to chat thru.

Emma's Kat said...

Ok, now! I can't get Control A to highlight! MmmmmmmLlllllllll! Lol! I know, I know, you can also click and drag to highlight, but I thought Control A would do the trick too!

Hi all. I agree with the "no postings" on weekends, if for no other reason than Kat needs a day or two off from this. We can still chat away, but there are usually a lot fewer of us here. Good idea.

Be sure to click the cursor somewhere in the body if Ctrl+A isn't working.

Also, you can click on the REFRESH button. The refresh icon is the little box with two green arrows (looks like a recycle symbol to me). You can also use F5 (keys at the top of keyboard), or from the top menu, View, Refresh. REFRESH reloads the page from the website, like a clean copy, rather than using the one stored in the cache on your computer.

I've checked into disappearing/non-appearing text, apparently blogger support thinks it is a hardware problem (eg, your monitor, video RAM, etc). I've tested it on about five computers, they all do it. Thought at first it was too much on one page, set mine to one display per page, same thing. I'm monitoring to see when/if someone solves the problem, like I said before, might even be me!!!

You need to get some rest today, Kat, lots of fluids and rest. Dr. Deb can fill you in with any other things. Hope Sean is resting comfortably now, and Kim and the rest of the family can have a quiet, peaceful Sunday.

Emma's Kat said...

Thanks Deb! Again, isn't our fuzz family the best! Anything you need to know about, someone in the pack knows! Advil didn't seems to help yesterday. But, I will go and take some, maybe it'll help today. I have some numbing throat lozenges (Ceprocal?) and I'm gonna try and drink something. Kinda hard when you dread swallowing. Anyway, enough whining from me! How's the ole noodle/head, Deb?

ML - Air conditioner still working well? I'm so happy for you and MBE! Btw, I hope you figure out the disappearing text mystery! Yeh, how could it be a hardware problem if everyone is having the same problem?!

Good Morning Ladies! Posting the kitties during the week is a good idea if for no other reason, those who can't post on the weekends won't feel left out. And to echo everyone else, we can chat through Kat's Cat on the weekends. It will be nice to have an open forum for discussions.

Kat, I'm not calling you today and don't you call me! Rest your throatand your body. We can chat later tonight when the kids are in bed IF YOU'RE UP TO IT! Also, I'm REALLY feeling like a heel about the candy, now! I swear, I'm going to mail it tomorrow! You could have had it for just this reason if I had sent it a month ago! I am so lazy/busy sometimes!

Sean is feeling much better! We have to remove the top dressing on his head today. There is another dressing underneath. I tried to remove it this morning and he really got upset. The tape is pulling what is left of his hair. I'm going to have to clip his hair as I remove the bandage, hopefully this will help with the pulling. Then the rest of his head will get a nice close shave! I will have to take pictures and show everyone. He has such a cute round head!

Dr. Deb, it's so awesome that you're a part of the family. We have so many specialists in our group!

Monica, I feel for you two!

Not meaning to leave anyone out, ever. I sometimes forget to mention everyone but I'm still thinking about you and hoping for the best.

Emma's Kat said...

Kim - I've been watching the mail everyday!! JUST JOKING!! Don't you worry about the candy!! You have your hands full!! Seriously, don't you worry about sending the candy tomorrow! You take care of yoself(lol!) and Sean! I will be sending him a lil goodie bag as soon as I can get myself bettah. I'm so over being sick! It sucks! Going to lay my butt on the couch w/my fuzz babies. Lloyd took the boys and went on to church, so at least there is peace and quiet. Think I'll go watch Jurassic Park. I love that movie! Check back in later! Love you gals!

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

Deb, thanks for the tip. The hospital gave me some of that adhesive remover that smells like oranges. Sean HATES that stuff and gets really upset when I use it. The baby oil sounds like a better alrenative because there isn't that orange smell. I think Sean assocites that smell with the hospital.

Your tips are very helpful! I don't mind them.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Deb, I enjoy your tips also. And I also love all three JP movies. I have also memorized the first one.

Hey, GS, how are you doing?

The blogger problem is something in their video programming, maybe the amount of memory they are reserving? It looks like they are running short of screen memory and will only display certain parts. Of course they are going to say it's hardware, that's what software people always say. Why I liked working BOTH, had to find an answer. I keep asking about it, someday someone there will go back through the source code and find their problem.

I've changed all sorts of settings here and it never made a bit of difference. Charley has a huge amount of RAM on his video card (and a dual-processor setup as well) and it still looks like it does on mine!

I've got PDJ backed up on CD and a printout, but you should be able to log in and access it from any computer. You only accessed the site from an office computer, the site itself is public. But, just in case, we've got you covered.

Emma's Kat said...

Hey GS! Yes, I too have the 3-disc special set! I watched the 3rd one. The 1st and 3rd are my faves, but of course, the 1st one is the best! I loves the humor and the jokes in the 1st! I too have watched it a bazillion times. Btw, how are you and how is Bry's hand doing?

Deb - I definately don't mind the medical tips! I definately appreciate them!

Anonymous said...

Count me in on the med tips too. I am going to try and answer the questions from yesterday's comments, won't be able to remember who said them as if I try to check them I will loose what I am writing. I think. Anyhow you are right husbands just won't listen and are bad patients. Also Frank does not follow the diet recommended and the meds are what keeps his cholestrol down. The doctor down in Sacramento changed his drugs, which right now he is upset about. I know one drug that was changed and he took him off Dilacor and put him on Lopressor. Also took him off propapnol(sp). To Frank there is no pain with his angina just pressure on the chest and his jaw goes numb.

My sweet baby bow is sitting next to me while I'm typing, he's so soft and warm.

Now on today's postings. Whatever Kat decides with her site is A O.K. with me. I just got that picture she has on today in an e-mail yesterday. It is cute. Kat sure hope you will be getting a lot better real soon and it sounds like Debs tips sound pretty good for the throat.

Kim, sure glad Sean is feeling better today and hope you are also.

GS, so glad to hear from you again. Missed you.

Pretty neat, we have someone with medical knowledge and someone with computer knowledge. Got a whole lot of knowledge in our fuzz pack. I also hope I haven't forgotten anyone.

I think everyone will understand your decision not to post on the weekends. After all, your a homo sapien, and strangely enough, you have a life as well! Enjoy your weekends by seeing a movie, going to restaurant, or dare I say, even playing with your feline...which you should be doing every single day!

Terrific quote by the way as well. I will make sure my human pet reads it so she can understand that the world revolves around me. I think she forgets this at times...silly woman...

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

Hello again. Not to keep talking about Sean. I just remembered that yesterday, someone asked if Sean's shunt was in his heart too? No, Sean's is in his brain.

Where's Rose and Rosie today? I need my daily dose of Yin and Yang!

MEN! Go figure! LOL! But we love 'em still!

Emma's Kat said...

Karen C.- I saw you commenting today on yesterday's posting! Hope all is well w/you and the kittehs and family too!

Emma's Kat said...

Okay Rose...oh!, it's you Deb! Sorry, with all the multiple posts, I just assumed...hehehe...

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

Deb, I would rather email my address. I certainly don't mind the FF having my address, just don't want to post it out in the open.

Sean's had his shunt since he was a week old and will have it for the rest of his life. He has Hydrocephalus, or water on the brain.

The Royals and Gentleman Beau said...

Okay, Okay, Okay...I SAW THAT, Kat!!
It is I, Queen of MPD!!
But, Deb, you're doing a great job, too! ;-}

Wow, I need to get my hands on some clove oil...there's a little old-fashioned drug store that still compounds meds in town, have to call them tomorrow. Karen mentioned she found it in Whole Foods, I think...There's one in Princeton. I LOVE Princeton, but I'm not sure about the bus connections. I want to go to Disney, too!!

Kim, I'm glad Sean is recovering well. Gee, so many procedures for a little man... Your offspring are etherial! I can't get over the length of Sean's eyelashes! Ladykiller Eyes!!

I'm waiting for Derek Jeter's interview on "60 Minutes", so this is probably going to be a record short post...^pant^pant^pant^...

The little Royals are changing everyday. Deb, where's the "pause button"? Marigold fell in the toilet last night...I was expecting that to happen to Brutus, since he's a leaping fool, but Marigold's catching up to him! She can jump in the tub (w/o water, 'course) They like to run around inside the tub like they were playing Indy 500 or something. Well, I "saved" Brutus twice from slipping in when I couldn't put the seat down fast enough, but I didn't realize Marigold had reached that level yet. Before I knew it, I heard a little "splash" and the poor little thing was just pulling herself out by the time I looked down. The water was clean, but I wanted to wash her a little bit, anyway, since I clean the toilet with a Clorox product and I didn't want her to injest any. She was SO good about the little bath we had! Didn't complain once!
Marigold is also very assertive about tidbits I let them have. I had a piece of salmon Friday, and they both want on the table when I'm eating. I broke 2 pieces off for them, let them cool and gave 1 each to them. Marigold wolfed hers down, went to Brutus' piece, growled and took his away!
I'm blessed with being engulfed with all this fuzzy-love! Occasionally, they'll sleep apart, but most of the time, they're in my lap or playing! They were so well socialized by our Deb and her girls, they never, from day 1, saw me as a stranger. They're so relaxed with people, and I love that they follow me around, along with Emily. ::heh:: A lady in my apartment building goes around and tells the neighbors I'm a "recluse". So, I am the Crazy Cat Lady with the 3 cats following her around. Wouldn't have it abny other way!
Okay guys, you know I loves ya's all, but Jeter's up after this commercial, so I'm OUTTAHERE!!!
chat later!

The Royals and Gentleman Beau said...

Hi Karen,
Thank You! But please don't go to that kind of expense! I'm pretty sure it's somewhere here in town. If not, I'll play tourist in my own state (which I wouldn't visit if given the choice anymore!), and make my way to Princeton...there's only one change to a different bus co., but it should be fun!

ML...it's not a Hardware Problem, the lying Blogger Buggers!! I can't see any print on today's posting until I "highlighted" it, either. I don't think it's like we all have the exact same type of computer...it's not nice to lie, it buys you more time in Purgatory!

Anonymous said...

Rose loved the story of Marigold and Brutus. LOL. I like all the different posts. Sounds like we're all talking together instead of posting even though it takes all day.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Rose, try putting a little plastic jingle ball in the tub. Roll it around, watch the fun. I do it with one cat, imagine the tiny Royals scooting around that tub chasing a ball. Warning: It is very noisy!

Of course it's not a hardware problem. Trust me, it's the first thing they teach you in school, right along with writing the obligatory "Hello World" program. And of course, in hardware school, guess what they teach? Think you can figure that one out.

Yeah, we've got a great group here. Alot of talent. That was what made me think of that saying: WE MAY NOT HAVE IT ALL TOGETHER, BUT TOGETHER, WE HAVE IT ALL.

Got a gorgeous full moon out tonight, if you haven't looked. Since I have Bear, the poodle with the pea-sized bladder, I am outside all the time. Day and night. Check that moon out if you can.

Sorry, GS, you lost all the submissions. I didn't get that at first. Wish there was a way I could get those back for you.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Count me in on this, too, Deb. Right up my alley.

When you leave a job, they should offer you a chance to get anything personal off the computers. I was sys admin at several companies, always did that. You lock their account ASAP (although not all of them actually do that...!!!), but the employees have a right to their personal stuff. It's like cleaning out your desk!

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

[aha, is this the beginnings of MPD???? Must be highly contaigous]

BTW, we should still demand to see the entire JR Man. I for one want proof it is not just a cat's head.

caspersmom said...

I just started a blog site, I think, so I am posting to see if the name comes up in blue. Testing!!!!

caspersmom said...

Yea, it worked. Now to figure out how to use it with pictures and stuff.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Oh, great, Casper has a blog. Yeah.

One of the things I used to do was low-level recovery, it is fascinating and fun.

But I think this is an altogether different type of recovery! I'm in.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Ohhh, think Casper's Mom might be coming down with MPD.

...darn, I did it again, too.

caspersmom said...

I don't know Mary Lynn, I'm really computer illiterate. Don't know How I'm going to do with the blogger. Tried to get a picture of Casper on but only got how and no action.

Emma's Kat said...

..........ahem......Now, don't you all get mad, but...I really really think you should see a doctor. Your MPD is I do believe turning into OCCD!! Rose! DISCUSS!!

Emma's Kat said...

Oh, and Monica, it just occured to me. We have never seen your other two kitties!! Have we now?!

caspersmom said...

The only one you haven't see is Patches. Gizmo was on PDJ when we were gone down to Sacramento.

Emma's Kat said...

That's right! I remember Gizmo now! Gotta go look at Gizmo again! So, cough up some pix of Patches! Lol! Rules are rules! You say the name you play the game. Sorry! I was trying to rhyme! We, as I'm sure everyone would agree, want to see Patches! We want Patches! We want Patches! Yes, I need to go to bed! :)

caspersmom said...

Good night Kat. I will send a picture of Patches soon. Hope you are feeling a lot better on the morrow.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Okay, Casper's Mom, have you chosen a template for the blog?

caspersmom said...

Yes.

caspersmom said...

I thought I did. Doesn't seem to be coming up.

caspersmom said...

When I hit the blog name on the bottom it says not found.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Why don't you create a new blog and call it Casper, something like that (just a random name...no real reason I picked it...).

Then go pick your template. You can email me on the side and not get out of your blog window, okay. If you have to use the internet, hit Ctrl + N to open a New Window, so you don't lose the "create a blog" window.

caspersmom said...

I got on the template and posted text. But when I click image nothing happens.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Okay, you selected the little image icon. Then you get a screen that allows you to specify the photo location?

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

One important thing: if you have any popup blockers, turn them off. It will -- and did with me -- interfere with loading the photos.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

MPD, naw, OCCD here I come! (forgot what OCCD stands for...?)

Anyway, yesterday I contact tech support for the blog and sent a detailed report. We should be getting an answer in a few days. Also gave them our blogs so they could check for themselves.

We'll see.......!

The Royals and Gentleman Beau said...

If I remember corretly, OCCD was Obsessive Compulsive Comment Disorder... It would be applicable if you posted mulitple times on 2 or more sites within a 24 hour period. Posting multiple times on the same site in same time period (in excess of 3 postings) suggests MPD Level II.
::heh-heh::
