Wow, what a Cool Cat that is...such a funny picture.

Ooooppppsss, something "saved" the comment for me. As I was going to say, I thought for a second that was Emily on the guitar and it looked like it said FUZZ PACK in the background.

We are getting one fierce little storm here -- it's showing up on the radar as bright red -- back later.

Good morning! I love this picture and quote as well!

How is KC's ear, ML? She acting like it's better?

How is everyone?

Kat, My Apologies for using your blog, one filled with love and compassion for comments made to
someone.
This site is about saving, caring for and not giving up on problem cats, or even problems we face personally.
One can not influence or "save" anyone who has not yet "caught on" to this philosophy.

That aside, Hello My True FuZZ Family.

The Royals and Gentleman Beau said...

ML You really thought that was Emily playing guitar?!
How cool is that?!
Actually, Emily is a pianist...

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Rose, if you have the original of that picture of Emily by the flowers, I want a copy. When I save it from the Blogger, it's not high resolution. I want to send it in and have a print made, that is a stunning picture. Also the one of Emily's profile. You could have a whole wall of art of your photos.

And of course, HRM Emily is a pianist, classically trained, I'm sure. Figured if that was Emily, it was in her younger, possible rowdy years. Perhaps one of the photos of "that" period in her life suddenly surfaced, years later, on the internet. Hmmmm.

The Royals and Gentleman Beau said...

Oh, you're SO true! Emily Did have a stage when she frequented punk rock concert, went heavy on the black eye makeup, lipstick and nail polish and Never made curfew!

Now, I've inherited that wild side...there's too much black in my closet...

You must never let Brutus and Marigold know of this! Couldn't you see Brutus with a mohawk and Marigold with a spiked hair-do?

I have a list of contacts in Kathleen's area and am searching to find someone who could take Cairo on a temporary basis, until we can make arrangements. It's difficult on a weekend, but I'm looking.

If you know somebody in Kathleen's area, who could just take Cairo for a day or two, please contact me.

***** I need some advice about KC *****

She has some sort of chronic sniffles and congestion. Dr. Smith said sometimes very young strays develop this and never lose it. We purchased some $$$$ antibiotic in hopes it will get rid of it forever.

In the meantime, her widdle nosie is so stuffy she gasps for air. Most of the time she can breath thru her nose, it just rattles from being stuffed up.

I try to keep her head up while she sleeps. Is there anything I can do for her to help her sleep? Would a vaporizer be good? Any tricks or anything would be so appreciated.

Emma's Kat said...

ML - It sounds like she has an upper respiratory infection/cold. Hmmmm...Did she say what she had was called? I don't see how a vaporizor would hurt, but I'll ask my good frind who volunteers and fosters about anything that might help her. She's coming by shortly to bring a new foster named Pablo. Pablo is 4 months old and lonely after two of his foster buddies were adopted yesterday. So he will come and stay w/us for awhile.

Kathleen - Maybe try Googling/searching on disabled/handicapped cat rescue groups. When Kim had to find a new home for her Siamese mix, Simon due to her husbands severe allergies to him, she searched on Siamese rescue groups and will be flying Simon out very soon now. It's worth a try and just keep Cairo separated from RtR till then.

Karen C directed me to the Crew and Misty, waiting to see how they handled this, apparently everyone caught it. Sounds fun and $$$$$.

For Kathleen, I found this: http://www.fffcatfriends.org/
It is friends of the friendless, and provides emergency fostering for cats that are caught up in a domestic violence situation and/or at risk of violence from their environment. That last part is what I thought would apply to Rosie's case, she is in danger from Cairo. I'm not certain however, which is why I emailed Kathleen and am asking here.

My other thought was, if Cairo absolutely had to be out, take her to a vet and board her while we figure out what to do. We would be glad to pay for the boarding, although Kathleen might have to drive Cairo.

Anyway, I'm not really very good at finding these types of things, but in the absence of our "big brains" am willing to give it a shot.

Hello Fuzz Family! I'm slowoly getting back into my routine although I still so much to get caught up on. My travels back from New Orleans didn't stop there. Turns out that I had to be somewhere different everyday this week! Sean had surgery on Thursday and that was three hours away. Anyway, I could complain all day so I'll move on. Just know that it will take some time to get through all my email and all the posts that I've missed, including catching up on my own site!

Rose, Kathleen. I love you both and I know that what you two are really mad at is the SITUATION. Don't let your feelings destroy the friendship you've developed on this site. Also, without meaning to, you're putting us all in the middle. We LOVE you two and we want to help. We want to see what we can do for Cairo. But lets not forget about Rosie! She is suffering and we've known about this for some time. Rose, Kathleen has asked for help in many of her posts. Please don't blame her or say that she doesn't care, that's just not true. Rose, I know how much you love cats and that it hurts to know that there is one out there that is in need of a home. Lets work together to find that home. Lets get past this and remember that we are all here for the same reason. We all became friends because we all share the same spirit. Ladies, again, we love you both. The rest of us are not choosing sides and nor do we feel that we need to. We'll make this work! Until a solution is found, talk to each other. You're both our fuzz sisters!!!!

Emma's Kat said...

Good morning! Good morning Loa! Well, I got the new little foster yesterday, Pablo. He is a doll! He fit right in and had no problems, except he was a little worried about Sammie the woofie. But he was exploring and playing w/Emma, Benji and Zebby like he'd known them before! I'll get pictures today and post a few maybe on Emma's site or email them.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Good morning.
I can't wait to see Pablo's pictures. He sounds so cute.

KC seems to be doing a bit better this a.m. after three doses of the high-powered antibiotic. She is just a little snugglebug.

Kim, how is Sean doing? And Casey and, of course, Lightning?

Emma's Kat said...

ML - Glad KC is doing better! My friend said a vaporizer would definately help her and that the cold virus just had to run it's course. Just to make sure she's eating good.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

No problems with her appetite. Or energy level.

She has had the third dose of Zithromax 300 mg (she takes 0.3ml 1 daily) and Enisyl-F, L-Lysine (1 ml 2x daily).

She is sneezing a bit, more like it is clearing her nasal passages. Not as congested this a.m. Doesn't seem to be as much infection. She just wants to play, then cuddle, then eat.

She is still shaking her head and scratching her ear. Found a little black bug she flicked out of her ear. Think it might be an ear mite???? So I'll call Dr. Smith in the a.m. She had noticed KC shaking her head, and cleaned her ears, but didn't find anything like infection.

Emma's Kat said...

Sounds like an ear mite! Ear mites can look like dirty/waxy ears. They can be hard to get rid of too. Keep an eye on Missy and Bear's ears too. Dr. Smith may want you to treat them as a precaution. But, so glad KC's better!

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Thanks Loa, that is a great idea.
Anything I can do to save on vet bills is always appreciated. And peroxide is a very good cleanser.

With two cats and a woofie, I'll have six ears to clean! That is a savings at the vet!

Kat, KC just had her ears cleaned and checked at the vet on Friday. That's why I was so astounded when KC "flicked" the bug out of her ear yesterday.

But I knew she didn't have an ear infection, but she keeps shaking her head. Of course, now Missy is doing the same thing. Thanks again, Loa.

Whoever asked the other day about the Squillions, Green Wall Shelter Kitties, etc. here is an excellent link with the history and current status. There are active links to view each GWSK's arrival, when available.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

And you can find the Squillions commemorative tee shirts et al at
House of the (Mostly) Black Cats Items for Sale.

And you can read about how Mom Robyn carefully cared for and shipped out the remaining Squillions. A couple of posts before that shows the Squillions settling in.
