Rafe

We adopted our Siamese mix, Rafe (short for Raphael) from our local animal shelter when he was about a year old. Shortly after Rafe came here to his forever home, he became very ill. Our beautiful new kitty was very lethargic and strange sores appeared on his face, ears, and paws. After much testing and treatments that did not help, it was discovered that our baby has an auto-immune disorder called pemphigus foliaceus. Now Rafe takes medication and has been in remission for over 3 years. Rafe is an easy going cat. He loves kittens and readily accepted the responsibilities of raising up his two younger brothers, Rhett and Rico. Rafe's nickname is "KissyFace" because he is such a big love bug. Anyone who looks into Rafe's big blue eyes falls in love with him too. -PJ, No Deep Thoughts & The Misadventures of Rico Loco

Wow Rafe, you are a very handsome boy. Glad to hear you are feeling better. I've never heard of that illness before. Good boy for helping to raise your younger brothers so well.

Good morning! Rafe, You are such a handsome boy! I wish I had more room to post a couple more pics of you! It was hard deciding which one to post! I wanted everyone to be able to see you as a kitten but also to see your beautiful blue eyes! I love the little exposed tooth in your kitten pic!! Too cute!

How's everyone doing this morning? You must check out the videos and Rafe's older brother at PJ's site No Deep Thoughts! And Rafe's little brother Rico has his own site, which I'm sure some of you have visited!

Rafe is gorgeous! His pose on the left is one of self assurance! His eyes are so pretty and he seems so regal. Cute baby picture! Like everyone else, love the fang! Glad to hear that you were able to find out what was wrong with him and were able to treat him. He's so beautiful!

Good Morning Fuzz Family! I'm still in New Orleans. I've decided to stay until Tuesday. I hope to be back in the loop on Wednesday! Take Care! Any word from Shirley on Rex? Kat, I'll probably call tomorrow while I'm driving. Love to all! OH, Rose, love the video of Marigold!

Rafe is a real cutie. Another kitty who looks very different than he did as a kitten. Glad to hear he made it through his illness and it doing so great now. I have an idea that might be kinda fun, how about getting some pictures of our cats then and now, and mixing them up to see if we can match the kitten pic with the grown up pic? If I had some pics, I'd do it on Ella's blog. I have no kitten pics of mine though, wish I did. It was just a thought.

Rosie you crack me up, I just got what you were talking about. You are so bad!!

Ella's mom, cute idea although, like you, I don't have any kitten pictures of Emma, Alex and Charlotte and Dickens is still a kitten but, like of like trivia, it would be fun with other's cats.

Hello efurryone!

Rafe is such a fantastic boy, isn't he? So adorable. He has two much loved brofurs to play and romp around with.

It's so heartwarming to know he is happy and safe and healthy.

I just real about Fred and the poem you left Kat, it made me cry.

Hello, Rafe! You're such a handsome boy and I'm so glad that the vet found medicine that can help you.

Good morning everyone (at least it's still morning here.) Waiting for the brother-in-law to arrive with his pickup truck so that we can haul Quincy's cage to Aunty Pat's house. The cats will go next and the dogs last. For those who don't know, we're fumigating the house for termites today and the family and critters are having a sleepover at my Aunty's house. Spent the weekend double-bagging food items, even the stuff in the freezer and refrigerator. And yesterday we moved the 2 30-gallon fish tanks out of the patio and garage so they don't get tented too. The boys are investigating the goings on but Blackie is currently napping in the sun.

Wow, Alohahelper, Sorry to hear that you have to go through all of that. We are thinking of retiring to Tennessee and they have their share of termites there too so we've considered building a house on concrete slab with the walls being cinderblock covered in stucco and interior framing of steel beams with a medal roof just for that reason. Good luck with all the moving back and forth.

Love to see my beautiful grandson featured on your blog. Thanks so much. He is really a sweet boy.

Of course, you may use any of KC's photos, she would be quite honored to have her young tummy featured.

Right now she and Bear and cuddled up together, just so cute. Think they think they are related. Bear will start playing and run toward KC, and KC will do that little kitten kind of leap straight up, on her back paws. Just too cute. If only I could get that on film.

Emma's Kat said...

Yes, ML! You must get pictures of them snuggling and playing together!! Sammie would love to play with her kitties, but she so big she often scares them.

ML...anyone still awake - What do you think of "fuzz words"? I just think "fuzzments", sounds like a candy of some sort. Fuzz ment(mint)...

That's so cute. I was just checking back to see what you were doing...and you did!

I spent a good part of the day going over the entire blogger template format. Sheeeesh. But I am starting to understand it, and that scares me!

They've got a class next month in HTML and interfacing to an API, think I'll take it for fun. It's free if I write an "official" review.

Emma's Kat said...

The "comment" that had to be changed in the template ended up being a few lines higher than what I'd emailed you! But I found it...obviously. ;)

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Oh, I'll have to take a look and see where it belonged.

I've noticed some blogs have all the "standard" words replaced with their own.
