Salem

Salem: will be 9 years old in September. He's a tuxedo cat adopted from a no-kill shelter (Helen Krause http://www.helenkrause.org/). He's not very bright, poor thing. But he has lots of bounce (unfortunately, too often on my back!) and is very quick. When one of Cat Couch's Girl Scouts gave her a live-sized green resin cat as a gift, Salem was so afraid of it that he didn't come into the tv room for days! ~Chatham

Good morning! And good morning to handsome Salem as well! Salem is Chathams brother from Chat Cat Chats. You can find them under my links. Love the picture of Salem in the bag! Those white whiskers!

Btw, Kim's home!!! Yea! ;)

How's everyone doing? I had a real scare last night! I went to TDK and they had some nutcase commenting there! Worse than evil James in fact! So he actually had a link to a .com site. So what does Kat do? I click on it. Well all of a sudden all these grotesque images pop up and this voice saying "I watch gay porn" over and over and over! And more and more windows/boxes kept popping up. I went offline and the voice was still there so I shut the computer down! Came back on and it was still popping up boxes and the voice was still there. So I logged off my signon and went to my husbands and his was fine...normal. Cause I'm thinkin' by this point my computer's crashing! But his was fine and I even went online there and nothing was wrong. So, I went back to mine and it was also back to normal. I emailed ML and she let me know what to do cause I was still scared something was wrong. All is fine this morning too. I just realized that I forgot to take my link off when I commented at TDK. So I hope this creep is gone and doesn't follow here! I'm sure his sick mind had a good laugh knowing someone probably visited that link! Oh well! I'm just glad my computer seems okay!

Awww, he is adorable. I like the picture of him in the sack. We had a cat once that wasn't too bright either, however my mom said it wasn't that she was dumb, but that she was a genius, and we just weren't smart enough to understand her. So maybe it is the same with Salem...he is really a genius!

Kat that sounds freaky. I hope it is all over.

Yeah for Kim!!!!!!!!!

What a handsome boy!! Never had a "Tux" kittie, but my next door neighbor had two (a boy and a girl). The girl, Bear passed away from cancer. Beau is still alive and well. Their human brother is my vet.

Hi efurryone!

Hi Salem.
I have such a fondness for tuxedoes and you are no exception. YOU are absolutely adorable and fank you to your bean for adoptin you!

Hi Salem, I am very partial to the tux kitties. You are very handsome. Love the photo of you in the bag. Too cute. Maybe Kat will do a collection of "Cats in Bags", too. Also love your name, Salem.

Fuzz Pack, you probably already know this, but again, PLEASE, do not click on links from trolls. Don't even give them the satisfaction of responding to their hate-filled posts.

They say controversial things, argumentive things, anything to make you mad and "hook you".

Some of them count on you wanting to visit their website or link to "tell them off". The website is almost certainly rigged. Then, when your computer crashes or the HD is wiped out or you get a virus (or all three), they figure you had it coming.

I've had to deal with a couple of these types, most of them had bigger problems of which this was just a small symptom.

Kat was very smart and did exactly the right things and did not sustain any real damage other than the shock.

The best thing to do -- and it is hard to do -- is to just ignore their posts. Remember they will post ANYTHING to inflame you enough to get you to respond. A lot of them just want the attention of your posting back and getting mad. But some of them are hoping you'll go to their website or link and unleash some real damage to your computer.

Great advice, ML. It is hard but just consider the source when these idiots post something stupid or evil. Glad Kat shared this experience so we will all be careful. Makes you wonder what rock these people crawl out from under, doesn't it?

OH - THAT FACE IN THE BAG! THAT'S ADORABLE!! I'm going to have to save that picture. What a gorgeous kitty!

Another thing I told my kids about the internet was NEVER to click on anything that offered you anything at all. No one offers you anything good without a catch, so just avoid all of it. I thought this was obvious information, but I was surprised that some adults at my work feel compelled to click on those ads that say "Do you want a free Ipod?" or "You're a winner!", etc. Then they end up with computers bogged down with spyware. It's especially sad that people would deliberately go to a site such as TDK and leave links like the one Kat came across. It's sad that there are people like that out there.

That picture of Salem is just gorgeous. That would make a beautiful art print or t-shirt, wouldn't it. Love the contrast of the white whiskers and his eyes. Great photo. And, of course, a beautiful cat.

I think it would make a really great mousepad picture too!

Hi Salem, you are a handsome cat. It doesn't take many brights to be a loving companion. Hey just tell them there is nothing natural about a green cat that just sits there. Love your face in the bag, so cute.

I saw that comment on TDK too. I wrote to kittenmaster on one comment quite awhile back and he e-mailed me and said, "I have to sleep sometime." It's hard to remember they are on a different time than we are. He removed it when he came back on line. So glad Kat that your computer went back to normal. I was always afraid I would click on something by accident and things like that would come on. As far as those other "free" ads, like Karen said, it's one of those to good to be true sort of things.

Hi everyone! *waves to Fuzz Pack*

Sorry I haven't been around. Really busy & sick. Just wanted to assure you all that I AM alive, although you mostly knew that, since I answer your emails, LOL(although that could be anyone, really...hehe) I'm here on break, since I have a block (I'm on chapter 13! So unlucky! So it's no wonder I have writers' block.

Salem is so cute! My Bagheera prefers boxes and plastic bags, and Toby doesn't go in anything. Except the dogs' comfy bed. Yay for the amazing Salem!

Our furrend Jade still needs a forever home. Norma is still fostering her and Jade is gaining weight and is very loving, but Norma's other cat (Cashmere) is not amused by the situation and is terrorizing her. Her ideal home would be with a lady with no pets or children. Does anyone know anyone? Anywhere?

sorry, Karen... I don't know anyone, either in CA or here.

Kat, I can't get Neko to work on my page, even following the directions. How did you do it???
