Cosmo

Here is the first and oldest of my family, Cosmo. One picture shows his lean handsome shape, the other picture is of him trying to get at a squirrel. The bird feeder is on a window in Nicole's favorite room but she likes to share. Cosmo is 12. We adopted Cosmo from VB Animal Control. In the cat room at VBAC, he was all alone on one side of the room where most of the cages were empty. He was jumping up and down for us to notice him (he was about 5 months old) and we instantly fell for him. VBAC wouldn't let us take him home for 4 days. When we returned on the forth day he could barely breath and could barely stand up. He was so very sick. We took him home and nursed him back to health. To this day, Cosmo has frequent loud sneezing fits, sneezing at least 6-7 times. Cosmo is a loud purrer. He purrs when we touch him and he loves to have the top of his head itched. He loves to be chased through the house. Since Cosmo has gotten older, he has a difficult time jumping on the counters. So in our master bath where he likes to drink out of the faucet, we've built him a ramp so he can get on the counter himself. Cosmo never sheds, his fur is fine and soft. Cosmo loves to sleep with us and loves to nap on one of many heated beds throughout the house. Cosmo seems to like Halle the best of our cats. -Darcy

Cosmo is so handsome and i loved reading his story. he is so sleek looking i'd love to pet that silky fur! i love it when my cats climb the window to try to 'catch' something. look how close he is to that squirrel! lol

and very cool that you can accomodate your senior with the kitty ramp. that is so sweet. i have some sink drinkers too.

Good morning all! Hi Cosmo! You are such a handsome boy! I used to have a charcoal grey kitty, actually my first kitty, I guess. He was a stray that wondered up to my parents front porch and I guess I was about 7 or 8 maybe? I made a little bed for him and my parents let me feed him, but wouldn't let him in the house. I named him Crocket. When winter came around, my dad took him to the shipyard and Crocket stayed inside there where it was warm and kept my dad and his coworkers company. Lol, thanks Cosmo for sparking a good memory! Btw, Cosmo's mommie Darcy, is my friend Darcy, Zebby's furrever mom, for anyone who didn't realize. Can't wait to see Halle and more of Nicole too!

I encourage you to have a vet check for allergies or upper respiratory infection. Do you have carpeting in your house? My cat had reactions like that (and worse) for years, til we moved to a house with hardwood floors.

What a great story! And how nice that he has his own ramp. I have a series of 3 plastic storage boxes set up like stairs so that Grr and her large tummy can easily get up to the kitty grass planter. Cosmo is a very handsome house panther!

Cosmo doesn't shed? Now THAT'S unusual! What a great story and it's so nice that Darcy's family is helping him get up on the counter with a ramp. We give Pluto, our older woofie, Synflex which is a liquid glucosamine supplement to help with his arthritis. Blackie is still nimble at 17 though she doesn't jump from the washing machine to the cage anymore like she used to do a few years ago.

Cosmo is a very handsome boy! He and my Asher could be twins! Asher too likes to be chased through the house, sleeps on heated blankets and drinks from faucests. I think they must have been separated at birth!
