Derby

Derby is an energetic three and a half year old man cat. He was adopted two years ago today. It was the first Saturday in May, the day they run the Kentucky Derby, so Derby he became. I was looking to adopt a cat and had been check on the local shelters, mostly on line. So once the timing worked out with work and vacation, I dropped in to check out the kitties in person. There were two that caught my eye and I asked to see them in the play room so I could interact with them outside their cages. Well the first guy didn’t impress me, but Derby came in, and I was sold at the first Meow. He loves to play, chasing toys, his laser dot and me. He spends his waking hours keeping track of the many birds outside at the feeders. Occasionally he even manages to find a mouse in the house.
