Hunter

This is Cashmere Growlypants Hunter, though I call him Hunter for short. He's a great all black male kitty. He's very low-key and has made a great brother for my other kitties, Napoleon and the as of yet unnnamed girl intruder. They all share a blog at My Pet's Pictures & Tails. Hunter is about a year old, and a fine fat boy. He had ringworm as a baby, and had to be handled daily when the stinky medicine was put on him. This weirdly made him very attached to his people. He talks quite a bit and always has something to say to me when I'm gone for too long a time. He's training his little siblings to be just like him, though Napoleon thinks he's training Hunter...lol. -Heather

Vinnie

Vinnie was a very young feral cat who got his hind leg caught between the slats at the top of an eight foot fence. Two strong firefighters and his now Daddy and Mom got him freed. The vet set his badly broken leg, but it became infected and had to be amputated. He gradually healed and then was so scared spent four months under the bedroom furniture, coming out only to eat and use his box when no one was around. One day he just came out and started to become friendly with his dog sister and his Daddy and Mom. His daddy made a window shelf for him so he could look out the window at the birdies and squirrels. He eats on the shelf, too, so the dog doesn't get his food. He is still scared of strangers but a happy cat in his forever home. His three legs take him anywhere he wants to go. -Vinnie's Auntie, Pat

Pandora

Spunky, Pandora (aka Panda) and Ginger are littermates and are approximately four years old. This brother and his two sisters joined my fur family in early June. Their former guardian was moving and could not take her five cats with her. I was going to take just two, but I ended up with all five. Spunky and Ginger are very close and will cuddle together, and Ginger is the peacekeeper between the three of them. None of them are truly lap cats, although they do like to be petted and brushed. -Malinda

Paul (RIP)

Paul is our angel-brofur. He was mommas first kitty and has been her soulmate ever since. Unfortunately he had to go over the rainbow bridge when he was only 1 1/2 years old. He had a heart disease but nobody knew it and then one day it was too late...He is still with us in our hearts and momma tells us stories about him. Altough we did never meet him we think he'd have been a great big rofur. Momma says he was a very special kitty and sure still it in rainbowland watching over us. -Othello & Kashim

Cleo

Cleo is Cheyenne's daughter (Tocchet's sister). Tom's sister Robin adopted Cleo and took her back to Pittsburgh with her. Cleo's purrsonality matches Cheyenne's. She is opinionated and rules the roost. Don't walk too close to Cleo unless you want a swipe with the claw. -Ann @ The Kitties & Mom

Friday Foster: Annie

Annie is a dreamboat cat! She is curious, confident, responsive and affectionate, but also relaxed and laid back. She was being fed as an outdoor stray by a lady who recently passed away. A very nice lady trapped her and brought her to her foster home. Annie is very petite, only 5.5 pounds, and is approximately one year old. She is jet black with turquoise green eyes. She's had at least one litter of kittens, but is now spayed and current on all of her shots. Annie is comfortable around friendly dogs and is learning to warm up to other cats. She loves to be held, to play, and will follow you around the house to be close to you. Her sweet disposition and happy temperament, despite her rough start in life, make her a great fit for many different kinds of loving, forever homes. To learn more about Dreamboat Annie, visit Mosaic Cats and contact Laura at: lauraw AT citcom DOT net.

Sasha

When I decided it was time to bring a furry friend into my life I went to the local animal shelter. When I went into the feline room it was quiet. As I stood at the threshold looking from kitten to kitten I heard a rattling. It sounded as if one the cats were trying to break free of the cage they were in. I looked over and saw all this soft gray fur sticking through the grate door of one of the cages. I thought that it couldn't possibly be a cat. I stepped closer and Sasha turned around in the cage. I took her out and held her in my arms. She just gazed at me with bright green eyes and purred. I knew she was the one. I was told that she was found under a porch. She had been abandoned by her previous owners and the shelter was worried that she would never find a home. I told them her home was with me. She spends a lot of her time now on my balcony gazing at the neighbors with the same bright eyes that captured me. -Tracey S.

Simba

Well, the pond in our back garden was too small for Simba to swim in; but that didn't stop him. He got one paw in and started to paddle away! Maine Coons are well known for their love of water and the webbed feet help them to get a good stroke. Maine Coons get their names from the fact that they originated from the State of Maine, and they have large furry tails that resemble the tail of a racoon. Thus their name "Maine Coon". To give you an idea of Simba's size, this picture was taken of him as he reclined on our queen sized bed! Persia and Simba each weight in at over 17 pounds. These gentle giants were both born here in Australia and are our pride and joy! -Cal

Butterscotch (RIP)

This is Butterscotch. He was a rescue kitty from the MSPCA . I got him in 1996, He was a moody boy but he was mine. He would follow me around and come when I called him. He ate anything and everything he could get his hands ons. He loved doughnuts. Alas he went to the
bridge last October, he had kidney issues. He was a misunderstood cat, but very loved. -Karen M.

Friday Foster: Inky

Hi my name is Inky! I'm not sure why my foster beans call me that, but it is ok. The lil boy bean who claimed me called me Smokey. I came here because the co-worker bean did not know how to take care of me, and did not want me or my kittens. I had four but one was taken from me before I was ready to let him go. Those are the reasons I came to live here. I still need to find my fur-ever home. I am a very sweet girl and a very skilled huntress. i was a indoor/outdoor girl. Yet, i think i might love being a indoor only kitty. My foster meowmize says that I am a talker to a degree. I like to sit looking out the window and make lil funny chatting type noises. I have a dark to medium colored amber/ golden colored eyes, with a medium long grey tuxie coat. As you can see I have grey markings on my nose area. I don't mind woofies as long as they are not to hyper around me, and don't mind other kitties. I love laying in the sun and chilling in a window sill. So if you finks I am the kitty for you please visit my foster familys bloggie, Katnippia, and let us know.....Inky

Speedy

When people say "where you born in a barn?" I say "yes, as a matter of fact I was". My name is Speedy. I was named by my original owner's son who got me from the lady who's barn I was born in. I was with them for 8 months and had never seen a vet, they couldn't afford it. They were also having trouble paying rent and buying food so they were going to move in with the man's sister and her husband, kids and dog...see where this is going. No room at the inn for a mancat. Dad said right away that I could come and live with him and mom and that the boy could then visit me. The first week I was with my forever mom and dad I went to the vet and got shot and had my hoohah ectomy. Then I set about making friends with the two lady cats who already lived there. Sadie was easy, Zippy didn't like her very much and she needed a friend to play with. Zippy was a little tougher, I had to pretend I was afraid of her! I'm the mancat of the family and keep the peace between my sisters. I am also a Manny (male nanny) for every litter of baby kittens that mom fosters. I don't know if it's my charm or my non-threatening manner, but every one of those litters (and their moms) loved me. I'm happy in my new home and never want to leave, which is good, 'cuz mom doesn't want me to leave either. -Donna, the kattonic mom

Dobby

Dobby is just the world's sweetest boy! He came to us from Cecilia and the 2 Bs, after Cecilia rescued him. He loves to play with Merlin, and keep him clean, and chew his whiskers. ;) He is quite a cuddle bug, too, he always wants to be right next to me, and lick my nose. Or my fingers. Or my face. Or my coke can. Or my wine glass. Or the bathtub. We call him "the bathroom cat" because if anyone is in the bathroom, he MUST be in there too. He likes to tump over to get his belly rubbed, and then reach up and hold on to your arm and lick it while you pet him. I often wake up with him sleeping on top of me, and I never want to move because he looks so sweet when he sleeps. And a cat needs his beauty sleep, you know. :) -Sadie

Colagorda

This is my Bengal kitty named Colagorda, or Cola for short. Her name means “fat tail” in Spanish. I named her this because she has a super thick, fat tail. Cola is going on a year old now. She purrs and drools all over me when she is happy. Don’t let the cuteness fool you, though. Her nickname is Brat! She loves to terrorize her kitty “sister” Nika and her kitty “brother” Scooby. She tears up and down the hallway in the morning because it’s playtime after Daddy leaves for work! She is my baby, and I’m so glad to have this little love bug. Purrs, Gina B.

Seabiscuit (RIP)

Seabiscuit was a wonderful cat who crossed the Rainbow Bridge at the age of 10 on July 19, 2007. "Biscuit" was an incredible girl, full of life and love until complications from intestinal cancer got the best of her. Biscuit was actually my ex-boyfriends cat (he had her for a few months before we met.) Eventually she moved in with me and my 3 male cats and Biscuit quickly became the boss of the house! Over the years we added 2 more cats to our family for a total of 6 and Biscuit continued to keep her status as head of the household! She had a very distinct disco-like wa-wa meow which she used quite often! Over the years Biscuit moved from Sacramento to Los Angeles to finally settle in San Diego solo with her dad. She was much happier as an only cat and enjoyed her senior years relaxing in the sun on the balcony. Her dad and I remained good friends so I was able to be a part of Biscuits life until her final days. She appeared to be in good health up until about a week before her passing, so it was hard to accept that it was her time to go. Seabiscuit will never be forgotten, she will live on in our hearts forever! -Becky (Jess' sis)

Shadow

Shadow is my name. I'm the little sister, low kitty on the totem pole at our house, but that is OK because I'm Mom's favorite kitten. I live with my Mom, sister and brother. I love to go outside, but I hate the harness that I have to wear to get there. I always put up a fuss when they put it on me, but once I'm outside I forget that I even have it on and I hate it when I have to go back in. One of my favorite outside past times is eating all that yummy grass, the other is bird watching. Someday I will stop watching those birds so much and get one ( question is what do I do with it when I get it). I really don't like to be picked up, unless you are taking me outside, so I will run to stand or sit somewhere that I am up high enough for my pet parents to pet me. I love to play with milk jug rings, strings, and toys on a stick. I am pretty good at catching bubbles too.

Spunky & Ginger

Spunky (left) is like the "dumb jock" of the family. He's all about his own needs, loves to run and play and eat! He adores being brushed. Physically, he is the biggest and strongest of his siblings but emotionally he is the biggest chicken. He craves attention and yet, is very cautious and shy; and he always has a "worried look" because of his facial markings. He likes people, but tends to disappear when strangers show up. He seeks affection but does not like to be held. He has no interest in people food. Ginger (right) is mostly blind in her left eye due to conjunctivitis as a newborn, but it doesn't seem to bother her. She's a happy, gentle and affectionate cat, but does not like to be held or picked up. Ginger is kind of prissy and will meow to let you know whenever she disapproves of something. She is the nurturer, peace-maker of the group and will lick and groom the others to reassure them and then cuddle up to them. She is curious and playful and likes to keep tabs on everything that's going on. Ginger loves bags and has to investigate them all. She also loves balls and is a gifted soccer player. Their former guardian was moving and not taking her cats along. I took in Spunky, Ginger, and Pandora (siblings) and Puff and Batman. Along with my own eight cats we now have one big furry family. -Malinda (Visit their blog: Clarissa's House of Cats)

Kashim

Hi there I am Othellos bofur and have to look after him all the time. Sometimes he is a real pain in the neck but I love him though. We've gone through quite hard times together...I was born 18.12.1999 and am going to be eight this year. I am the mancat in the house. I love snuggling times with momma, but hate to be held or lifted up. I love to give bunny kicks and sandpaper kisses and do biscuits on momma. Tuna is my favourite treat for tuna I'll even let momma brush my fur. But don't ever touch my tummy or I'll go mad. -Kashim

Jasmine

Meet Jasmine. We adopted her for my daughter Cassie's 17th birthday. She was the softest cat we ever touched until Lemieux came along. She picked and chose who she wanted to be friends with and who she ignored. She often chose people that were allergic to her. She lived with us until Cassie took her to Gainesville where she attends college. Luckily for me, she did not like Ariel when Cassie adopted her. Sadly, when someone broke in to Cassie's apartment, Jasmine got out and we have never found her. We can only hope that she found a new home and did not suffer a sad fate. -Ann
