Maddie (RIP)

This is Maddie. She was my first rescue. When I found her at the age of 4 yrs., she had been dumped off, the owner just got tired of her. I had her for 12 more wonderful years. She became diabetic the last 5 years of her life, but was a trooper. She was one of my dearest friends. She taught me how to love unconditionally. We now have 4 more rescues. Two cats, one deaf and one that had been terribly abused, a doggie that was abandoned, and a three legged hampster! I love my little family. -Lexi C.

Good morning all! Maddie, what a lucky girl you were! Lexi, it's great that you rescued her and gave her harsh start to life, hope, love and a furrever home! Sounds like she was a great companion and I'm so sorry for your loss! Btw, there is a rule around these parts (ie.Kat's Cat)! Mention kitties, by name or otherwise, and you are required to send in photos to be posted for everyone's viewing pleasure! Lol! You mentioned you had two more rescue kitties, right? Cough up the pictures! :)

Maddie was so beautiful. Look at all the wonderful years you had together. And she started you (at a very young age) on a life of rescue. And don't they give back far more than they cost!!!

Thanks for sharing Maddie's story and yours. Really inspirational.

Maddie you were such a pretty cat. Love your coloring.

I think when you rescue an animal you bond together more. At least in my opinion. My last three dogs, two were pound puppies and the third was a stray. All the cats more or less came to me in one way or another. Thank you Lexi for being so kind and loving all the babies that didn't have it so good.

Lexi C. - Maddie was a very beautiful kitty baby. I'm sorry for your loss.
Like Deb said I am sure she is waiting for you at the rainbow bridge.

Good Morning Fuzz Family !!!!!
I hope everyone is doing fine.

Check out Cat of the day. Looks a lot like Missy and Casper without the blue eyes. The blue eyes is what makes Missy and Casper special. And they belong to the fuzz pack.

Hi everyone, Maddie looks like she was a real sweetie. I can't believe someone would just drop her off, but thankfully they did it at the right place. My two kitties can drive me crazy and keep me up at night, but I can never see giving them up cause I'm tired of them. I couldn't live with myself. I really appreciate all of you rescuers who do so much for helpless animals. You're the kind of people I want to be like :-)

BTW the heat index is near 90 here and supposed to be near 100 this weekend....yuck!

Well, just got back from the vet. As most of you have guessed, little KC has gained weight. She is 1 pound, 3 ounces, so she has gained 1/4 lb! Yes. She had a really good time, Godmother Deb met us at the Houston Cat Hospital. After that, we went to Petco. KC personally approved some big feathers and a small feather ball. Charley bought a laser flash ball. And I picked out a new food dish and a package of "cat crazies". Missy and Bear will share the toys.

And then Godmother Deb went beserk. There are seven of the most beautiful kittens at the Houston Cat Hospital, waiting in cages in the receiption area. Deb decided to buy toys for them all. She doesn't do anything half way. We carted back three huge scratching posts -- one of each cage -- plus mice in all forms: furred, feathered, felt, you name it; jingle balls, crazies. Those kitties thought it was Christmas and Deb was Santa Claus. You never saw such happy little kittens. We are going to set up a blog just for them, to give them a hand in finding the forever homes they deserve.

I would like to nominate Deb as Official Fairy Godmother of the Fuzz Pack, and, actually, of All Fuzzes Everywhere!!

I would not insult Deb by suggesting that this be an Honorary Position; however What she does and When she does it should be at her discretion only.

To quote Our Dear Rosie, "DISCUSS!"(but I'm gonna start her wings tonight-septre and tiara to come!)

Lexi- I feel certain that your beautiful Maddie is waiting at the Bridge for you. I so admire you for your rescue work. Obviously Maddie trained you well.

Anyone (Kat) know when they announce the winners for the Blogs of Summer???? Thought it was today!

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

The Houston Cat Hospital, where KC had her second vet appointment, has three cages of the most beautiful little kittens for adoption in the waiting room. Deb immediately noticed the kittens had no toys.

We took KC to Petco for some new toys.

ML - So happy KC had a great report from Dr. Smith! Isn't it a shame that no matter where you go there are kittens and cats w/out homes! One simple solution would prevent this: Spay & Neuter! How hard is that?! As far as announcing the Blog of Summer...??? It was supposed to be today, but I'm assuming he's been busy and is trying to get everything together. Going to check on it now.

Meow's Mom - I think that would be great. I 2nd her for honorary Fairy Godmother!

It is nice to "meet" Maddie - rescues are just the best friends. They seem to understand love easily and know that they are special in their own way...much paw applause for all you have done for these babies!!!
