Cricket
Cricket came all the way from W.VA, where she was queen of her horse barn. She is the mother of many litters and came to the rescue group, A.R.T. with her last litter of two. She was loved very much by her owner, and it was hard for her mom to let her go. But, she knew it was best for Cricket and now Cricket is queen bee of her city home I'm sure! Cricket was a small girl (maybe 8 lbs.) and was 4 yrs. old in this pic from last June. She is a sweet girl who loves pets, kitty massages and being carried around. Everyone was shocked to know she was a barn kitty. Shows how much her mommy loved her! -Kat1 (my sister's kitty :) )

She looks like a queen! She's a lovely girl who looks very confident. From Country Cat to City Cat, the tales she could tell!
Sometimes doing what's best for these sweeties isn't always the easiest thing. It's takes a truly caring person to do what, in their heart, they know is the right thing!
I have to agree. Her cheeks are so furry that my fingers would be burried in then all the time. I just want to give her little kisses all over her sweet head.
This cay is absolutely beautiful. Good luck to Cricket and her family.
SHe is a very lucky kitty to have had a mommy who cared enough to give her a better home.
I just love the look like you are disturbing my peace her. A very Queenly royal looking girl, all hail Queen Cricket...
She is a beauty. She looks smart too, barn cats always are very intelligent.
Diva FuZZ.
YES, MADAME, WE WILL GO AROUND YOU ON THE STAIRS. What a pretty girl is our Cricket, and you can tell she spends time every day on her eye makeup.
When I was a kid, we had one cat(out of many) who LOVED to be carried. My step-father always claimed that if we carried Timi all the time, she would develop toteitis, and not be able to walk for herself any more. ::sigh:: It's amazing what kids will believe, and what adults will tell them!
She is beautiful...she looks like the cat my mother in law used to own.
Meowmepurr, you are too funny. I heard that before as a kid too, (not by my parents)but by others who didn't recognize pets as family members, the way my family did.
PS. All our cats and dogs walked just fine on their own. HA!
Cricket looks like a fuzzy version of a cat I had when I was younger. I named her Pippin, after the hobbit of LOTR who was always getting into trouble.
Cricket, however, doesn't look like [much] of a trouble-maker.
Hi Cricket!
And, of course, everyone would just step over her on the step. It would never occur to me to ask her to move!
What a great expression on that fuzzy face! I love the fluffy neck. I'd be petting her all the time.
Are you sure she wasn't one of the barn cats in a Mrs. Murphy's mystery before she left for the city??? Anywhere she is, it looks like she is well cared for and loved.
You'd think that with 3 adorable kitties, I'd be able to get some really great pictures like this one of Cricket and all the others shown. So far I've got good ones for stuffonmycat and mycathatesyou.com. I'll keep trying!
OK, I've just added to my profile for those of you who have checked it out. I didn't realize, duh, that I had one. For those of you who have checked, now you'll actually have something to read!
Rita,
She does look a little Maine Coonish. But size wise definately not Maine Coonish! She might weigh 8 1/2 pounds. Very petite. I will be posting her daughter Tilly next week sometime. She looks very similar to Cricket. A beauty also.
Yes, Cricket was the queen of the farm and very much loved and missed everyday. She was so much fun to watch her teach her babies how to mouse, love on the dogs and be careful around the horses. She would go for walks with me and tell me stories along the way while I was looking for the horses. She was not a cat, so she thought, she was part people and dog.My only hope for her is that she is happy in her new home and loved at least half as much as I loved her.
