Good morning! Hi Lucie! I just love her buff, grey and white calico markings. Very unusual and beautiful! Susan S. if you're visiting Kat's Cat, how old is Lucie? And also, how old is Freddie now? We know he was just little in the picture at PDJ.

Morning everyone!

Hi Lucie!

Lucie is quite beautiful and looks so very soft and fuzzy...and of course huggable.

I've never seen Man Oh Manny. I'll have to check it out.

Good morning everyone!
Lucy is beautiful! Got to go check out Freddie!
Have a good day everyone!

Lucie is very elegant looking and I also think that Freddie is adorable. Very sweet.

Ohhh, meow's Mom!! Oh where oh where have you been? lol

Donna, did you have a chance to check out ManOhManny? Too many great sites out there!

Hi Kat1, I spent 2 minutes on it right after I posted here. I will need some time to go through it. It looks great. I scrolled to the bottom post--it was for some time in April--and it was about coming home with groceries. I had to laugh: Kona does that too! :-)

Lucie is just so pretty. For some reason, I want to give her name a slight Italian zing: Loo-chy.

I too have to agree with all of you, Lucie's markings are very unusual which makes her a very unique kitty and very pretty. Well GS, looks like you have a Queen and King of the family!!

GS, I just read Manny's blog about the race for the bathroom. Too funny. But our house is like yours. We don't even try to keep them out, it would be useless.

Wiley, especially, always seems to follow me in or show up shortly after I, errr, get started. Out of habit, I just close but don't latch the door. She just pushes on in.

Emma's Kat said...

Has anyone looked at SOMC today? The very last pic for today is rather disturbing to me. Does anyone agree??

Man oh manny was funny. Every day banter with a cat.

When I sit on the throne for awhile I get visited by all the cats (4)to get their butt rubbed. I keep wondering if that has anything to do with being in the bathroom or what?? Oh well, we all leave satisfied.

Is that to much information????

Lynn said...

Lucie is adorable, and she does have a really unique color. It looks like she is daydreaming about something.
I just read part of the manny blog and it is funny. I wanted to do something similar for Ella on my blog but I need to get some new pics of her first. Oh yeah Ella had a trip to the vet this past weekend, which went ok except she wouldn't let the tech draw blood so they could test it. The vet said we could just try it at her next check-up. She also said Ella could stand to lose a few pounds she weighed in at 13 lbs! Oh well I guess we both need to go on a diet together! LOL

Good Afternonn everyone!

Luice you are a very beautiful kitty baby.I love her pretty markings. Kathy C. thanks for sharing her pic with us.

Oh by the way Casper's Mom that wasn't to much info to me. 3-4 of my 5 do the same to us. Except Pounce sits in there with you while you take a shower.

Hi Kat1, I'm not a big fan of SomC. I glance at it at least once per day and I don't mind some of them, but most of the time I find myself feeling sorry for the cats. I think they have a disclaimer about what kinds of photos they will accept, but I worry that there will be people out there who will try to push the limits.

For example, the only one I don't mind for today is the kitten wrapped up in the towel on the couch. And the reason is because it's expression tells me it's fine.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Hi everyone.
Kathy C, Lucie is so beautiful, such unique markings. Her eyes are a beautiful color, and the rest of her fur seems to be somewhat muted or smokey. If Freddie is older, want to see another picture of him...and/or picture of Lucie and Freddie together.

Kat1, I'm not a real big SoMC fan, either. Seems silly cause cats are great enough without anything on 'em. That's just my feeling, though. If you are talking about the cat pic with the little (hard) plastic car on its soft underbelly, plus the other stuff under the cat's armpits, etc., that did not look comfortable. Nor cute.

Donna & Caspers Mom - You cannot keep Missy out of our...er, her bathroom. That is her domain. She just lets us use it. She can work that little paw under the door and unlock it somehow. See, being a new cat person, I figured that was normal cat behavior. Guess it is!

Have you seen the Cute Overload for 5/14, Mother's day for Step-Mom/Adoptive Mom's? There is a sequence of shots of a baby and a big dog. I love dogs, but it makes me nervous to see such a tiny, soft little baby beside that big dog. Mainly the second picture; the last two look very posed. I won't let my little poodle, Bear, get around big dogs, they could too easily break her little back without meaning to. But I am a worry wart!

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Kathleen, almost forgot, your little Rosie sounds like she is wasting no time making herself at home. Bet it was just too cute to hear her snoring away this morning.

I agree about "Stuff on my Cat". I don't generally go to that site because of how the poor cats are displayed but went today because of Kat1's remark. I've owned many cats of the years and would never do the things this site shows. Little Gizmo didn't look too happy either. If a cat gets themselves into an unusual situation and you can take a picture, that is one thing but to put them into what must be uncomfortable situations just for a laugh. I guess I don't get it. Of course, lately I've adopted rescue cats and they have had enough upset in their lives without my adding to it just to take a picture.

danielle said...

My spot will go in the bathroom with me and will not allow me to shut the door at all. He has a loud deep meow and that is all you hear. He will also try hard to open it if it gets shut. He will even scratch the wall thinking that will work.

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

Kat, do you mean the picture with the cat wrapped up in a streamer? I found it disturbing because it looked like a pair of panties on the cat's head!

OK, Oscar and now Simon are the same way with the whole bathroom thing. Oscar will rub my legs while I'm, uh, "busy!" Simon will sit on the side of the tub and watch. I have to keep Simon out while My 4 year old son is going potty, I'm sure you can guess why! A little guy standing up with a steady stream, it's too much for the kitty to resist! I know, TMI! It's just really funny. "Mommy, Mommy, help, Simon is trying to get in the toilet!" LOL!

Kim, that is hilarious imagery! LOL!

Hi FuZ Family,
Couldn't resist joining in the Cat-in-the-Bathroom
discussion! I lost all privacy the day I got Emily. I just moved into a floor level apartment when I picked up 5-week-old Emily, and she a)attached herself to the nobby-knit sweater I was wearing (she still nurses on it, always makes bread - it's her "num-num sweater") and b) the first time I went into the "W.C." even living alone, I closed the door and just as I was, ah, seated I hear this frantic little high-pitched "Mew? Meew??" I let her know that, yes I was in there, but her cries got more frantic, so I had to eh, reach to open the door, and she comes hopping in like near infant kittens due, So Glad she wasn't abandoned again...My heart melted everytime she'd not noticed where I'd gone and thise little frantic Mews would come around looking for her mum...or was it her Num-Num Sweater?! Kat,thanks for the tip about the Manny site !
Lovely Lucie is a pallette of cami-colors,and oh,so soft looking! Emily used to kike to drag my sneaker across the room and drop toys in them. I tried putting them on one day and wondered why one felt so tight in the toes, and found one of her fuzztoys in the toe!

The Royals and Gentleman Beau said...

can't type worth a hill o'beans today...sorry folks!

The Royals and Gentleman Beau said...

Hi Rosie! I will, as I have been promising Kat for ages, have pics of Emily e-mailed as soon as a friend teaches me HOW too! Funny you should ask about her boo-bage.
I found a wasp in the bathroom window and she heard it buzzing, so having had great success last week, went bravely into battle for me - only to get stung for the effort! Rosie, I DID think of you, as I was watching her right FB
enlarge to a DD, poor thing...

Emma's Kat said...

I definately didn't think they were trying to put their kitty in danger. And I don't think the cat was choking, just that it was like you said, GS...Scared and trying to get out of the streamers. I think if the streamers were around the kitty enough it wouldn't be able to get away w/out help. Sorry, everyone. I'm not trying to get everybody in an uproar. I was just a little disturbed by this pic and surprised SOMC posted it. No worries, though. I'm sure the cat was fine, but...okay I'm stopping there. lol

The Royals and Gentleman Beau said...

Oh GS, she's fine now! She went under my nightstand, and let me sit with her. I wanted to make sure she wasn't going to have an allergic reaction or something...she wouldn't let me pick her up, let alone apply ice to the FB affected, but after about an hour, she was gingerly trying out her dry food and drinking water. Today she went back up into the window, so she's not permanently spooked, but I found out how the wasp got in (a workman left the top window open) so there should be no further intruders...She's My Brave Girl!!!

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

DID NO ONE NOTICE THAT THIS CAT'S HEAD WAS COMPLETELY COVERED?!!!! To heck with the garn streamer, I'm mad that they covered it's head!!! With what looked like panites, at that!!!!!!!
ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!
OK, better now.

Emma's Kat said...

That's what disturbed me too Kim! I just am thinking, why would you put that on your cat's head. It's not cute or funny! Poor kitty is all I can say. I just hope all is well w/the kitty. And I just want to say again, I wasn't trying to cause a ruckus or undue attention to SOMC, but it's just a weird pic. I sat there and studied the pic and thought it over. I just wish the owner would come on and say something to clarify, but...there's probably nothing to clarify. Okay, I'm done. Nothing we can do now.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Hey, Rose, do you have the pictures in digital format? We sure want to see the Brave Emily. If I can help you with anything, let me know.
Never cared for SoMC, investigated the link 'cause the link is on Kat's site. Love Kat's cause we get to the see beautiful grown up cats in all their glory. They don't need a thing. They are perfect...er, purr-fect.

The Royals and Gentleman Beau said...

Hi mary lynn, that's part of my problem...maybe a major one, the pics I have are on film...I heard that prints can be transferred to disc? Anyway, that's what I'm counting on, or I'll get one of those disposable digital cameras, as a real one is out of budget for awhile - any advice??? Thanking you in advance!

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

Hi Rose, Kim here. I don't know if you have a Walmart or Walgreens where you live but you can take a regular disposible film camera in to be developed and there will be a box on the envelope that asks if you want to put your pictures on a disk as well. I do that all the time.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

You can go to Walmart -- or just about anywhere -- and get the prints made to disc (and prints also, if you want). If you have a print already, Walmart can scan it to a digital image, which can be emailed (or printed). You can use any of the disposable film cameras, just turn it in for processing with the pictures on disc. Then you put the CD in your computer and you can use the digital pictures in email, word processing, art programs, just whatever you want.

The little cheapie digital cameras (like $50 and below) usually have terrible quality pictures. Fuzzy, blurry, no detail. Get a cheapie film camera. Walmart can develop the prints to a CD or disk and you can also download the pictures to your computer from W-M. They have a nice free software package that allows you to work with your digital prints.

You can order prints made online for about 12 cents each (good Kodak prints). They also have a ton of fun stuff you can order using your photos: tee shirts, mousepads, coffee mugs, etc.

Sorry to go on and on, love working with computers. See this month's article shaping up nicely, think it will be about this very subject. Thanks Rose. If I can help with anything -- any of you Fuzz Pack -- please ask. I might not know how to brush my poor Missy Blue Eyes, but I know computers!

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

ML, I sure wish you were at my house! I know NOTHING about computers. For my birthday, my husband got me a very nice Nikon digital camera, 8mpx, the works! Then he had to leave for Ft. Chaffee. So I know HOW to take pictures, for the most part. I CAN download them onto the computer. I can email them to people. BUT I'LL BE DOG GONE if I can figure out how to edit them!!! ARGH! I'm pulling my hair out over this whole situation! Luckily my husband will be home the week after next and he can finally show me what I'm doing wrong. Sure wish you could be here to help me though.

Lets see, we now have a grooming expert and a computer expert. What other wonderful experts do we have in our Fuzz Family?!

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Check out this website: http://www.irfanview.com/. I have used their freebie graphics program, Iranview, for years. It can acquire digital photos directly from a card or scanner, crop, change red-eye, reduce size. Don't require anything real sophisticated, this is a neat little program. Will also let you create slideshows, add text, etc.

Well, one thing for sure, none of you who have posted photos needs any help in the photography department. There are some good photos on here.

Kim - i don't think my occupation would help anyone out much. although i work with computers i do CAD (computer aided drafting). but i used to be a seamstress in an upholstery shop for 23 years. i can cut out and sew furniture, boat seats, and car seats in my sleep. which i have done. work all day and then all night. whew, i was really tired when i woke up the next morning.LOL

anyways, the bathroom issue is at my house also. yuki only visits me first thing in the morning to let me know she knows i am awake and it is time for her to be fed. kimiko sits in the window sill and watches my morning routine. occasionally she gets very vocal while i am in the shower. i have no idea why she gets so upset. she has even stuck her head into the shower to see me. at least she cares about me. sometimes she misses me so much she will curl up in my lap while i am "busy" and i have the hardest time getting her to leave. this is the only time she will lay in my lap. go figure.

as far as SomC - sometimes the pics are cute and sometimes i wonder about how far up some peoples elevators go. i agree that kitty shouldn't have had whatever it was on it's head. but i know my cat yuki will let me cover her with elastic ponytail holders b/c she is too lazy to chase them when i am flicking them at her. her arms move for them but the body does not go anywhere. i suppose it is her version of low impact exercise. every now and then she will actually roll over trying to catch a ponytail holder. BTW i do count how many i start and end with. i do't think those things would go thru her system too well.

enough jabbering. good night ladies. oh yeah, i will fill everyone in on that job position tomorrow.

I loved Rosie's description of Lucie "Hot fudge Sundae Fuzz." I sure do think it fits.

Boast away Kathleen! We love hearing how she's doing. I'm so happy for you that you found each other. As hard as it is to lose one we love, you have to move on and Rosie came along to help fill the emptiness of Shadow not being there anymore. Rosie will never replace her, but you will grow to love her just as much. I can't imagine not having kitties in my home! The quote for today is so true. Ok, done being gushy! lol Good night!
