Maximus

This is my Maximus! He is from Prescott, Arizona. I was living there 5 years ago when a co-worker found Max under the hood of her car. Someone obviously dumped him off in the parking lot where I worked at because there are no houses near by. Max is very lucky to be alive since she drove her car through part of the parking lot before she heard his cries & pulled over. She opened her hood & BAM there was a sweet little kitten just trying to keep warm. He was so little then, we couldn’t even tell if he was a boy or a girl! Now he is a huge, healthy boy that loves to chew up mommy’s stuff!! ~ jaysa

Good morning! Let me hurry and type before Kim beats me to 1st spot! hehehe What a sweet sweet picture! Thank goodness Max was found before it was too late!! Wasn't it Bandito from 5/18 that had a similar story? What a sweetie Max is! I love the little seagull or "V" his eyes down to his nose makes. How peacefull! Wish I was where Max is in this picture!! I didn't want to get up this morning! Well, I gotta run! Gotta get myself ready before waking the 2nd grader for school!

I love this picture of Max! He does look like he's resting so peacefully. His story is heart warming. What a happy ending. Max is so beautiful! Jaysa, thanks for stepping up and giving your wonderful Max a home. I'm sure he loves you so much, just look at how content he looks!

Good Morning All!!!

Good morning all.
Love this story of Max. He is a beauty. And he is one lucky cat. He is just snuggled in that bed, guess it is "his" bed!!!

Check out http://graceandkittens.blogspot.com/ to see the latest news about Deb's kittens.

Congratulations again to Rose and Emily, and to Brutus and Marigold. And especially to Debra, who saved this beautiful family. And to all of the Fuzz Pack, we have all been in this together, Kim. It reminds me of the saying, "We may not have it all together, but together we have it all!".

ML, well said!

BTW, I was typing so fast that I forgot words or spelled them wrong. OOPS!

Good Morning everyone!
Maximus is adorableus! He looks so sweet and content, partially due to the fact he is still in bed. Lucky cat!

I am so glad to hear that two of Grace's babies will soon have new homes, and that it is with a member of the Fuzz Pack no less. Do the rest of us get to be honorary god mothers? :o)

That is so awesome about Brutus and Marigold!!!!! Good for you Rose.

Good Morning, FuZZ Pack!!
I can't begin to tell you how ELATED I am that Deb is entrusting Brutus and Marigold to me and Emily! I feel like sending Birth Announcements out! Can't wait to see Emily's reaction to her neice & nephew! She's a truly good cat, and I expect after the bit of cattitude she'll level my way, she's going to LOVE the little critters! How could she not?! She's a very sociable cat, and how about INTERACTIVE TOYS???!! She may think I'm the best mom, ever!
Have to go for now, I've allowed Emily to be spoiled by coming out on the terrace for a half-hour or so...when I was up this morning at 2:30, she thought it was wakey-wakey time and started a new sort of mewing, a sign she wants "outside...chase bugs...wish-in-one-paw about the birds...!
Be back later!
(gosh, is my face gonna HURT from this ear-to-ear grin!)

Of Course, you're all Godparents!!

Deb, really now -- "Fuss" pack???? Ha-ha. Go get your coffee.

Rose, bet you didn't get any sleep last night. Just wait until Brutus and Marigold are enroute to you.

Those tiny little kitties just don't know the stir they have caused, do they. Not even their Momma has a clue. And for being so tiny, they have a whole slew of godparents watching over them, a whole Fuzz Pack worth!

Morning everyone!

Hi Maximus! Oh, the possibilities for nicknames. Maximus Cute-us. Maximus Tabby-us. Maximus Fuzz. etc.

Wow. So much activity going on. That is so neat that Grace's family is starting to find homes. With Fuzz Packers no less. Not even a shred of a hint of a doubt that they will have a loving forever home!

Anonymous said...

Hi! Okay, I've had my coffee, so hopefully no typos! Max is a very fortunat cat. I love the expression on his face! Completely at peace! Rose, I will throw a "kitty shower" via the internet! I'm so excited that these babies will have such a good home with you. Okay, Fuzz Packers, Pete & Foster, as well as Grace are still in need! These kitties are so lucky to have such wonderful Godmothers!

Anonymous said...

Well, heck, still can't spell, that should be "fortunate"!! Back to the coffee!!! :)

Gosh, just read the previous postings and want to congratulate Rose on her new family additions. Brutus and Marigold will be wonderful for Emily to care for. She will probably be licking their foreheads in no time. Hope all our email outreaches will help to find homes for Grace and the other babies.

Check out http://graceandkittens.blogspot.com/, just added new unseen absolutely adorable photos of Pete and Foster in an unashamedly blatant attempt to find them homes. Look into their eyes -- you can't resist!!!! Hopefully, these can also go to a Fuzz Packer (or a soon to be Fuzz Packer!).

Kat, do Momma Grace & Company qualify as Ginger Cats?

Danielle, Bil and I are leaving for Stockholm Sweden on Thursday morning. We're running in the Stockholm Marathon on Saturday. We're then going to spend a few days in Reykjavik, Iceland before coming home on Saturday 6/10. It will be a fun trip. I've never been off the North American continent (Tijuana, Mexico and Vancouver and Victoria, Canada are the extent of my international travels).

I'll have a lot of catching up to do when we get home.

danielle said...

Donna,
I remember now. You were talking about that a short while ago. I hope you guys have a great time. It sounds like a lot of fun, and maybe a lot of work too. I'm sure you both will have a great time. Just don't forget to get pictures and put them on your site. Now who will be taking care of Wiley, Maddie, and Kona?

I have been all over New England and to Utah and Colorado. That's it for me. Were all those trips for your competitions or for relaxation?

UUhhh, above is a greeting from Emily to all!! She just decided to walk over the keyboard...!

Maximus, you handsome pusscat!! You're doing what I was too wired up to do last night!!! Looks like a nice, restful sleep you're having...You are one of the things I love about Kat's site...you are a SURVIVOR, like so many felines, and survivor FuZZbabies find the kindest biped mommas to help nurse you and keep you safe until you find your furrrever home. I'm a survivor too, I'm told, so I relate strongly to all your stories...Happy life to all FuZZes!

I think there is something wrong with my Jake. He still is not back to normal. He's not eating or drinking much. He hides all the time still wont come to me. I think maybe he is depressed. Any suggestions?

My weekend was nice. Good weather finally. My daughter was in a parade lots of pictures. Had a nice cookout yesterday. Sorry tohear about the rain for those who had it. Just think it can only get better.

Anonymous said...

Oh Danielle, I hope Jakey is OK. I don't know what could be the cause.

(BTW, my sister is already here to kitty sit for us. Such a relief to have someone here, staying with our fuzz-babies and keeping them company. However, I still get so sad just thinking about being away from them for so long--all of 10 days. Especially my Kona-boy who was being exceptionally lovey with me last night. Sigh.)

danielle said...

Donna,
I know the feeling. It seems like he knows something is up. and wants as much time as he can get. I haven't spent much time away from mine either. The 8 days Jake was in the vets was horible. It looks like he might have to back. Sob Sob :(

Anonymous said...

Sleepy time Max. Looks so peaceful. So glad he was found in time and rescued. Handsome boy.

Loa, loved that remark about the baby shower. Sounds like PDJ is having her share of baby showers. Don't blame her about being concerned about all her little families out in the rain.

Danielle I am so sorry about Jake, but it does sound like he will be going back to the vet. Prayers again going up for sweet Jake. Poor guy, he's been through so much, and so have you. Not fair!

danielle said...

Caspers mom,
I am going to call the vet at lunch time and see what they say. Thank you very much.
How is that beautiful boy of yours doing? I was looking at both his pictures earlier today. He is just so cute.

Anonymous said...

Casper is doing just fine. He's enjoying the outdoors for awhile right now. He is such a good boy, he's the only one that stays in the fenced yard I have out back. I don't like any of the cats jumping the fence as they get burs and all that kind of stuff, as the back yard has grass and is kept up.

Hope the vet has good things to say.

Anonymous said...

Like right now Cleo is on the outside taunting the boys that are being good at the moment. Gizmo likes to jump also. They stay outside about a half hour or so. Casper does like to lay and smash my flowers though.

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

Hello again! Man, I'm gone for 2 hours and come back and the message board has EXPLODED!

Danielle, I'm sorry to hear that Jake is regressing. I hope it's nothing serious and wait anxiously for word from you!

Donna, I think it's awesome that you're goin on this trip with your husband. Not that you wouldn't go, better clear that up! But that the two of you can find the time to travel and do the things you enjoy. I'm going on vacation in a week with the kids. Alan can't go. I wonder if we'll EVER get to go on a trip, just the two of us?! One day maybe.

Hi GS! Sucks about the rain. The kitties will be fine because you're vigilant about keeping them safe. I understand your worries though.

Hey Kat, maybe I should send Oscar's picture in. And yes, ya big meanie, I saw the big orange cat, just didn't think to look to see if there was a link under the picture! LOL!

Anonymous said...

Danielle,

Saying a prayer that Jake is his old self again quickly. We all know how hard it is to diagnose our beloved pets (if only we were smart enough to understand all they want us to know). Contacting the vet is the best step to take.

Anonymous said...

My head is spinning. This is what I get for waiting until lunch to look at the messages!

Danielle, I hope Jake is OK. I'm pulling for you.

Donna, have a great trip!

Congratulations to Rose and the new babies. New kittens are more fun than anything. (Now, I want one, too!)

Maximus is such an appropriate name. This kitty is definitely what my best friend here would have called a "Major Cat."

OK, back to work.

Hi everyone,

Just been catching up after being away for the weekend. I see everyone has been really busy! I have got to get a computer! I've just enjoyed looking at all the cute kitties I've missed.

Max is so adorable, he reminds me of a sleeping child, all tucked in his bed. Very cute.

I'm glad to here some of Gracies kitties are starting to find homes, I bet all of them will have one pretty soon.

Danielle I'll be sending prayers up for Jake too. I hope he's ok and it's nothing serious.

Oh I got tell you I saw the cutest kitties yesterday. I was outside yesterday morning and this momma cat and three black and white kittens were walking through our neighborhood. I figured they must be feral. I wish I had thought to get my camera and get a picture. It was just the cutest thing they were all tagging along behind momma. I was a bit worried though since they were crossing the street. People sometimes drive down our street pretty fast. I hope I get to see them again sometime.

Hope everyone had a nice holiday.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Donna, have a great trip. Am glad to hear your adorable bunch will not be alone or [shudder] boarded. I know you all will miss each other, but you can tell them (and us!) stories when you get back.

Danielle, let us know immediately what the vet says about Jake. You both are in our prayers.

Casper's Mom - So Casper and MBE have even more in common. Missy loves gardens and plants. Since she is strictly an in the house cat, I have her kitty grass growing and try to keep safe things around her. She tries to climb in the pots with them.

I just wish we could see Rose's face when those kittens are delivered and they see each other for the very first time!

Emma's Kat said...

ML - Yes, Grace is definately a ginger kitty and they have ginger and white kitties posted as well!
Kim - You should send in a pic of Oscar boy!

Donna - Be safe and have a great trip and run!

Danielle - Jakey will be in all our prayers! We love you Jakey! :)

Jan - Where the h-e-double hockey sticks are ya?? lol You've been MIA!!

danielle said...

Thanks everyone. I called the vet and he is going back tonight to be checked out again. Hopefully everything is ok.

If anyone needs to vent go to my site. Click on my name and there is a link in my profile.

Grace & Company send get well soon wishes to Jake. Danielle, I know how you feel, it is horrible when one of your babies is sick. Please let us know how Jake is doing. Went to Houston Cat Hospital (our vet) to pick up more A/D food for the kittens. She had 2 more families "dumped" at her doorstep. Four babies that were left without a mommy, thank goodness they are about three months old. Spent a hour there calming kittens. Anybody in Houston, THESE KITTENS NEED HOMES. CONTACT HOUSTON CAT HOSPITAL -- 713/782-MEOW. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN!

OK ML, now I feel even more awful than I usually do!!! We're new to our town and don't know anyone. I MUST board my kitties when I travel for more than two days! I hate to do it and wish there was another way. We use to take Oscar with us to my parents house in Louisian but he HAD to be drugged. He was so traumatized from the car ride! Now that we have Simon, my parents said no more, their cats get so upset now!
Anyone live near Northern Arkansas?!

Anonymous said...

I'm sorry, Kim, I live in Michigan or I would be glad to help but I do know there are services around here where pet sitters, who are bonded (which is important) can be hired to come into the house, feed, water and clean litter plus play with pets but I have no idea what that costs. I just see the ads in the local papers.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Oh, no, Kim, please don't feel awful. Now I feel awful!

Boarding isn't bad, it is a very safe way to leave them. Like you, I have had to do it, will have to again but just don't like it. It's actually the being apart -- nothing about being apart is good, for cat or human.

I used to have to travel for work and board Bear (the mini poodle). Suffered all kinds of guilt; someone finally told me she was safer being boarded than being alone during the day, waiting for me to come home from work. I finally "coped" by figuring the dog and I were both having "vacations".

Wish I was nearby, Missy & I would gladly keep/look in on Oscar.

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

I know gals. Actually, when we lived in Tulsa, we had a pet sitter for times when we didn't go to my parent's house. In this small town, they've never heard of such a thing!!! My problem with boarding is that all I can think about it that they're in a cage, all day and night. It's not like a dog that gets to go out in a run, of for a walk. I just feel so guilty. But I know they're safe and if anything should happen, they're in the right place.
ML, don't feel awful, I was just giving you a hard time! :) I do have to board them, but I had to poke fun at you. You're my fuzz sister, felt that I could do that.

Thanks Claire, you're my fuzz sister too. You all are!

The Royals and Gentleman Beau said...

Danielle, I'm sorry Jake isn't feeling well...I forgot if you had your vet do the surgery last time or not. If not, don't be afraid of it, because I knew someone at work whose cat had the same condition. She thought the vet was suggesting a sex change operation or something silly, but it's just a surgery to shorten the urethra. I worked there for 6 years more, and she was forever changing pics of her cat- "seasonal shots", sort of! The FuZZ looked fit and happy. Prayers & candles for you & Jake, as always...

My favorite nickname for Max is MAX-I-MOUSE!!! Yeah, he didn't want to get out of bed when I was making it so I just tucked him in!! Very lucky kitty!! Oh, has anyone ever had a cat with a chewing problem?

Thanks, Jaysa

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

Max-I-Mouse, that's too cute! I would have just tucked mine in too! How sweet is that! No, can't say mine have had chewing problems. Hopefully someone will have some insight.

Hi, Jaysa! Thanks for sharing Max with us. He looks so contented! Our cats don't chew things ... except for cardboard. The edges and flaps on our cardboard boxes have kitty fang marks on them. I think Bebe is the worst culprit but Tiger does this too. Pumpkin, however, is play-biting everyone. He grabs and bites but not very hard. Sometimes when I'm carrying him and start to put him down, his arms are wrapped around my hand while he's biting me and his feet aren't set for landing and he ends up doing a summersault. Gymnasticat!

hello everyone. i just sent kat1 the pics and the story of the little fuzz hiding under my husbands car. i haven't been playing with her too much. :) but i have cleaned her up a bit as she had quite a few fleas. :( but she loved being groomed! she loves attention. i wish i could keep her but i don't have the time to put into a kitten right now as rex (see pdj - red chow chow) is in need of attention. wouldn't be fair to either.

jaysa - maximus is way too cute. i just love his expression of complete contentment. if only i could sleep that well. sigh.
