Tommy & Toby

These are my boys - Tommy and Toby. Toby is a Hemingway and is the one on top. Tommy is a stray that we adopted but still allowed to go outside. We got Toby after Tommy came up missing and we were heartbroken. Then we found Tommy at a Petsmart 15 miles from our house. A neighbor took him to a no-kill shelter because she thought he did not have a home and she loved him but couldn't keep him. The no-kill shelter offers pets for adoption at the Petsmart. Our vet figured out he was there after we told him Tommy was missing when we took Toby to see him because he had the sniffles. Even though Tommy was a fierce tom he loved Toby immediately and they are best pals and bring a tremendous amount of joy to our house and we love them dearly. -Tammy E.

Good morning! Cute...cute...cute!
None of my grown up kitties sleep w/each other! Emma and Benj will once in a blue moon! And they lick each other, but not on a daily basis. Tommy looks like what my little foster Boca is gonna look like when he gets all growed up. Same cream and light grey coloring. Although Tommy looks like he has some black w/grey mixed on his back. I love Tommy's scruched ear!

These boys look so happy together. What an amazing story!!! Did you have to adopt Tommy again or were you able to straighten things out? Tommy has a very pretty nose. Toby has very vivid stripes. They're both so handsome! I love this picture, they just look so comfy together! I'm so happy that you found Tommy and were able to get your family back together.

Good Morning All!

Your boys are soooo cute!!!!! Thank god someone brought him somewhere and you were able to find him. Maybe it was supposed to happen like that. Where Toby came to you to help find Tommy. Toby is his guardian angel. Maybe.

HAPPY B-DAY KIM!!!! :):):):):)

Good Morning Fuzz-Pack!

I checked out the past couple days worth of kitties. They are all so cute. That was a good story about Cheebi. Sorry to hear about the loss. He is waiting at the rainbow bridge. And Bebe is adorable with that smudge. Also (one last thing) I saw a Max look a like yesterday. But this was a girl named Cat. Well hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning everyone!

What beautiful boys you have Tammy. You're so lucky. I agree that it all must have supposed to work out that way.

Wiley and Kona will sometimes sleep within about a foot of each other, and Kona and Maddie would share a kitty bed when he was a kitten, but that's it now that they're all grown up.

I love this picture!

Happy Birthday Kim! :-)

Happy Birthday, Kim! =^.^=

What a happy ending! I wish that would've happened to me too :( Meeko and Gheeri used to sleep together, now Gheeri just sleeps as close as she possibly can to me without being on top of me. She reserves the climbing of me for when she wants me to get up, which is rare. She seems to enjoy just sleeping with me in bed, curled up in my arm. I guess it's a product of getting older, huh? Probably gonna be awile until she accepts her new brother-not expecting cuddling anytime soon.

Morning, Fuzz Pack. I put something up for Sunday, if anyone's interested.

Thank you ladies! I got a special birthday present, much to my husbands chargrin. I was adopted by a 3-5 month old kitten. After talking to Kat, we have decided that he's a Flame Point Siamese. I can't officially have him until Thursday. That was the agreement that I made with my husband. He wants to wait a few days before making any decisions. But the kids love him and Oscar says it's OK. And, he's already in the house. I've talked to the vet and he is fine being around Oscar as long as there are no fights that draw bodily fluids. I could go on and on but won't. I just wanted to tell all my friends about our new baby. His name is Simon and he fits right in!!!

donna said...

Kim, what a wonderful birthday present! Especially if Oscar approves.

GS, how's the new guy? Have you decided on a new name for him?

Rose said...

Happy Birthday, Kim!

What a great gift, a new fuzzbaby!
Have any idea what we'll be calling him?!

Tammy, your two big guys look so comfortable sleeping so closely.
Toby is very handsome...umm...I'm a bit naieve, but when you say "Hemingway", you mean polydactyl? Any case, I've had cats agree to sleep on different parts of my bed, but none too close to the other...baffling creatures!
I'm SO gld you met up with Tommy again - imagine !!

I've had one of those days where I've felt like I've been doing alot, but getting nowhere...uugghh!

Sleepy time cats. They could pass as brothers. Very pretty markings. I So like Tommy's belly. Looks like you can pet it and get away with it. So glad to hear that you found Tommy and the family is back together again.

Casper and Patches sleep together in the winter. Stove isn't on anymore so they have abandoned the chair by the stove.

Happy Birthday Kim..Great birthday present. He sounds like a very handsome kitty.

Karen C. said...

Aww - they're so sweet there together. Mine still do that, but normally only two at a time. It's pretty rare to see all three together. I want to pet that big soft tummy!

Rose, I know just how you feel. I think I'm having one now....

donna, the really funny thing is that I thought of the name Tobias on my way to work, and ran it by Bryan, and we're deciding. Then I look at the CotD, and there's a Toby! I thought it was a sign... I still like Aslan, but I don't think it's going over well with Bryan. And I had liked Thomas O'Malley, and Bry liked it, but he started calling him Tom, and I HATED it. So unoriginal, so cliche. Anyhow-we're still searching (but I hope it's Tobias!)

Kim, that is AB FAB!!!!!! Wow, I wonder if he's just a mix or if he's full! I always wanted a Siamese. But we have much of a talker in The New Cat-I don't think I could handle more chatter than what we have! LOL

What beautiful kitties. Wanted you all to know that we visited Shadow at the pet memorial park in Napa this weekend-it was such a beautiful, peaceful place, rolling hills, green lawn, plenty of sunshine.
BYW, thanks for the tips regarding Himis-have actually had 2 and 1 Persian so am aware of the pitfalls of their fur. For those with long hairs, was advised by a groomer recently that Johnson's Baby Cornstarch powder works wonders in preventing/reducing mats.

Kim said...

Rose, we've named him Simon. He has such pretty blue eyes. Yes, they're crossed!

GS, I don't know if he's full or a mix. He looks like he could be full but not sure how likely that would be. I've been picking thorns and ticks off of him. When the kids go to bed, then I will put on his Frontline.

Thanks everyone, this has been a good birthday! I've really been wanting another kitty but Alan has been so against it. In the end, all it took was for one to walk right into our home. I'll get a picture of him soon.

Tommy and Toby, your so sweet. It's obvious that you know a lot of love from your humans!

Rose & GS, Is it the weather?! I've tried to get things done and just not felt like doing anything! I got some clothes folded and played w/my son and my furry children. That's it!! But ya know what?! I don't care. It's raining here and cloudy (obviously!), so I know that's a big portion of my moodiness today. You girls can guess the other reason!! lol

GS, I like Tobias as well as Aslan. I'm sure Gheeri and he will be buds soon. Chasing and playing together. Can't wait to SEE him!! Hint hint! lol

Tommy and Toby are just beautiful. How cute and innocent they look asleep. So glad you found Tommy. Happy Birthday, Kim. What a great present to have Simon find you. Glad Oscar is getting a companion. Bet you can't wait till Thursday.
I can't wait to see photos of all these new cats. Simon, Boca and Tobias!!! More hints!

The anticipation of seeing Simon,
Boca, Tobias (LOVE that Name,GS!)
PLUS Loa has her Fuzzbabies on the way to Kat...I really admire you, Kat! How you have family and yourself to look after, and how creative you are to develop this site that is So Special...there was an entry on TDK, and the writer was sad that the pics she submitted to TDK were of her kitten when she was already 4-6 months old...dare I drop a note in?! Yes, I think so - this IS a site for Cats...okay, let me get SOMETHING DONE TODAY!!

Emma's Kat said...

Rose, Cleo has already been posted here! Doncha amemba? Look in the April Archives to refresh your memory.

Loa, I received the pic of Steppa today and she will be posted in a couple of weeks. She has to get in line...lol!

ML (Mary Lynn) said...

Yes, this is THE site for Cats! And the people that love them.
Forgot about Loa's cats, as well. Can't wait...!

Kim said...

OK, you have to see the kitten on Kitten Picture! She could be a combo of Tommy and Toby with the color, striping, and the nose. SO CUTE!

casper's mom said...

Thanks again Kat1 for posting Cleo because that is why I sent her to your site since she didn't pop up on Dailykitten. The picture I sent to Kittenmaster was different than the one I sent you. She was older in the one I sent to you and was taken after I sent the other one to Kittenmaster. I actually didn't think I got just her face in the one I sent you. I also was surprised how it came out so clear.

Rose I do know what you mean about working and seeming not accomplishing anything. Yesterday was like that but today I made up for it. I actually finished what I started.

Rose said...

OhMyGosh...I did as I was instructed and referenced the April Archives -
HOW COULD I HAVE OVERLOOKED CLEO!!
Not only was Cleo my mom's favorite name for a cat, but Cleo could be EMILY'S SISTER!! Except her nose is black instead of her chin!
I'm soooo sorry!

Ptooey...HYAK...What a day...

Where is our Rosie, anyhow???

Loa said...

O MY i cant tell the Queen she has to get in line lol So do u want me to line them all up now ? thanks for leting me know u gat the photo of Steppa

Rose I checked the sites. Don't you have a picture of Emily on it anywhere? Couldn't find one. Sure would like to see Cleo's sister.

casper's mom said...

I meant the different sites on Kats cat of the day. Can the end of the day be a good excuse for not getting my thoughts out right???

Emma's Kat said...

Thank you C's mom! Rose?? lol

That is soooooooo Awesome you found your kitty after all!!!!!!

Rose said...

Casper's Mom - I've been promising Kat a picture of Emily, but I can't get the photo softwear to work and have been unable to pin my friend down to 'splain it to me...which is probably a good thing, since I learned on this site just recently, that I can have regular photos transfered to digital format to download-that would be MUCH better than the one I managed to scan in. Besides, there's a few really cute pics I'd rather submit for Kat's approval!
One Proud Momma would I Be!!!

Okay Loa! Let's see those babies!!!

3rd - thanks to everyone for all of the wonderful comments about cheebie yesterday. for some reason blogger has been really slow loading for me (if at all). yesterday was nice. i cried a little but felt comforted by everyones comments. i even got my husband to talk a little about cheebie with me. we laughed about some of his antics. it really helped my heart.

4th - i am so glad loa is able to send pics of her babies. can't wait to see them. i am looking forward to seeing GS's little baby too. hurry up with the pics!!

finally 5th - i said i would keep everyone posted about the job interview i went on. well, they sent me an email (3 days earlier than they said they would) with an offer for employment! i was still getting my questions together to ask them over the phone. so now i have to call them first thing in the morning w/ the questions and let them know i can't start next monday like they want. i need the answers to my questions before i say yes. will let you know tomorrow if i say yes.

The no-kill shelter that had Tommy at Petsmart called them and they released him to us. It was quite the ordeal - finding him and seeing him in a cage. Poor guy! They sleep together and groom each other all the time and yes - Toby is a polydactyl - his feet are so big he looks like he has baseball gloves on! Needless to say neither are allowed outside and they run our household - to the point that are non-furry kids sometimes get a little jealous!
