Bubbles

I think Bubbles is between 4 and 5 years. He was just a stray cat that I saw from time to time around our apartment building. I felt sorry for him since he always seemed to be injured in some way and he was very thin. However he was also very afraid of people and it took me about three months to get him to come into my apartment. At first I just put some food outside and later I would sit outside while he was eating and every day I would sit a little closer to the food. Eventually he let me touch him and I then moved the food closer to my door and eventually inside. Even once he decided that it was ok to hang out in the apartment it was still not all plain sailing. Allthough I had him neutered, he continued to fight with the other stray cats. I had to take him to the vet several times since his injuries were severe. All my efforts to make him stay inside were useless. He would just start crying and not stop. Things are getting better all the time though. He now stays inside most of the time and I just let him out in the evening when I can keep and eye on him. He gets along well with my other cat, Mrs. B and my neighbors cat. He still does not want other people to touch him, but is not so terrified anymore. He is terribly attached to me. When I come home he is often sitting in the window waiting for me. Dispite his ferocity with other cats, he is very sweet with people. -Cecelia

Oh wow Mr. Bubbles you are just so cute. Basically ditto to what Kat said. That was a great story. I love cats who have a favorite (sp) pet. He is lucky to have you in his life. You did a great thing for him. Hope it lasts a lifetime.
He's so cute.

Hi Kat,

Yes, I know where St. John is, it is above Lansing toward the middle of the mitten. Probably about 1-1/2 from where I live. Hope all goes well with the computer access today.

Emma's Kat said...

Claire - See Lansing sounds familiar to me. Maybe that's where my Uncle Tom lives. I failed to ask my dad about that. Oh well!

Well, blogger seems to be doing okay for the moment. We'll see what happens this afternoon!

Has everyone checked out Danielle's Stupid Trivia site?? And I don't mean that it's stupid, really, that's what she calls it!:)I don't know what the link to it is right off, but if you clink...clink?! CLICK...lol, on her link to Ventor's Welcome below, it's listed under her links sections!

I don't know why I started calling him Bubbles. People around the apartment told me that they called him Cid, so that is his official name. And I'm sure he would prefer a strong name like Cid and not Bubbles. But he's my little baby, so he has to put up with it.

Cecelia- I love Bubbles and the rest of your gang! Your site os on my "everyday list!"

I never got a chance to comment on Mr. Plunger Butt's second picture yesterday because STUPID BLOGGER went down around noon. I finally decided to wait 'til morning.

2 of my mother's mob were climbers. Cassius had no problem with ladders, and loved to go up on the roof with my step-father. Pirate could get to the roof without a ladder. She was great at up-climbing, but always had to be persuaded to come down. She would yell down the chimney to let us know she was up there.

UPDATE-Shep the Dog is fine. It was just that his "old dog lump" itched, so he scratched, and it got icky. He has antibiotic cream and a bandage to keep him from scratching. He was working on the bandage last night, so now he has a t-shirt over the bandage. I'll get a picture and send it to PDJ!

Meowmepurr's Mumma said...

I meant to say that I love Bossi's spot and tail! LOA, your gang is quite something. I still like the picture of Baby MUS with his little paws up!

danielle said...

Poor Shep. But that sounds really cute with a t-shirt. Jake is still on baby food. I offer him treats and doesn't even think about it will not eat them. How is Amber today? How is George? How about that beautiful lady Missy Blue Eyes?

Emma's Kat said...

Did anyone notice the subtle change in Kat's Cat?!? I think I like it much mo' bettah!

danielle said...

Kat,
If you are talking about the color on the blogger bar yes it looks good.

GS,
Glad to hear Bryan's arm is on the way to recovery. I am more than happy to "spoil" Jake withthe food. As long as he eats. I wish I could leave early on Fridays. I'm jealous.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

First of all, Bubbles is stunning. Never seen a cat quite like him. Will come back and read about him later.

Haven't had time to read any posts yet...it was down all yesterday for me.

Check out Missy's site, mis-titled MLGTestSite (http://mlgtestsite.blogspot.com/).I put an entry for Casper and Missy so we can compare...they do look a lot alike.

Missy jumped up when she saw Casper's pix, but she doesn't get near the screen. She relaxes at the edge of the desk, but gazes at his picture. I'll still get a shot with everything so you can see.

Hope Bryan is doing better, and glad Jakey is healing. And Deb, hope that post-root canal is okay. And glad to hear Shep is okay -- Bear has those bumps, too.

I'll get back on later, got the nurse and lab tech here for Charley's bloodwork, the physical therapist just walked in, two neighbors brought sick computers over...yikes! A full house.

Kat - the article is coming along slowly. Want to include Neko once he gets over his shyness here on your site. Emailed the Neko programmer for help, I'm scared to duplicate your site for testing, could affect the postings.

Yak at you all later.
Have a great Friday all...

Mister Bubbles has wonderful "coloring". He is too handsome! I'm glad that he has a great "forever" home. Marigold & Brutus continue to entertain. My vet said that they could probably fly out next week, she is checking them out first and getting their "papers" ready. Rose, sorry I haven't called. Mouth is very sore due to root canals.

Hey Guys!!!

Blogger's feeling better today (knock wood or whatever surface is good luck for servers)

GS has a really good trivia question today!

Deb, sympathy pains for you, sis...! Hope it subsides enough for you to enjoy the weekend...you DO get some downtime, right???

Gotta visit everybody's site while Blogger's in a good mood...

Cecilia, Bubble's story is one of the kindest I've heard...I get the feeling "Cid" has a plan that you are his chosen biped, so there...a Very Exclusive and Discerning Feline! He seems to like to be photographed in the same pose, like he thinks that's his "better side"! Bless you both!

Chat with y'all later...

Emma's Kat said...

Danielle- You're getting as bad as Rose...posting 3 times! :)

Ewww! She's gonna get me! lol

Sorry,
I remember what I want to say after its too late.

No worries! I'm just pickin' on ya! :)

uuhhhhh...I Read That Kat!!!
::heh-heh::: That's O K A Y!!! I'm just glad to see that I'm not the only one with "Multiple Posting Disorder" LOL!!

Debra just sent me a bunch of photos of the babies, oh gosh, they are SO cute they can make my teeth hurt...oooh, sorry Deb...:p

Isn't it fun that Blogger's in such a good mood??! Better than my internet provider - they reconfigured my e-mail overnight and half my files went missing in the deep recesses of (oops - poor taste joke deleted) the bloody machine...um, ML...can I have an appointment for a consult?!

It's such a pleasant day out today, but Emily burrowed a whole in the screen door big enough for her F.B.'s and was working up to her ears before I noticed...Tried putting electrical tape on it...she pulled it off...she's gonna meet her match in Brutus, I can see it! Actually, the two of them will probably stay out of trouble, matching kittywits with each other!!

I think I'm going to part with you for the moment...don't miss me too much, it might be good for you.

(I don't know what that meant either...

ciao!

Loa,
I love the big kitties. Ask anyone. But if he thinks he young and skinny well indulge him. It might do him good. Glad to hear the others are being nice.

Hello, Bubbles! I just LOVE his "all knowing" expression. I guess when they're neutered so late in life, their fighting instincts will remain even when they can't do anything with the lady cats after driving away rival toms.

My sister and her family are visiting from San Antonio for 2 weeks and are staying with us. It's amazing how cats are able to vanish when they want to hide. They finally came out of hiding this morning after pulling their vanishing act since Tuesday night. In addition to my nephew and niece who are 6 and 4, my brother-in-law's seeing eye dog is also staying with us. It's so funny seeing a 90+ pound German Sheperd being intimidated by a cat. Bebe hissed at him this morning and Vaughn jumped back and slunk away. And he gave a big yelp when Pumpkin dashed past him. He's used to cats since my sister has 3 of her own but he's scared of ours. LOL!

danielle said...

Oh that is so funny. You have to get pictures of them. Send them to Pet Du Jour!

Anonymous said...

Sure, Danielle. I'll send you some pictures. I'll try to get some with him interacting with the cats. When he first arrived, I got a pic of him nose to nose with Blackie. Then she started to make these evil growling sounds and he ran away. LOL!

Karen C: Thank you for the compliment on my daughters. I think they are beautiful -- inside & out. Tatum is 19 and yes, that blonde hair is natural...Sloane is 16 and the curls are natural. Rascals got the good hair, I'm stuck with brown! They both love to dress up. Even if we are just staying around the house, they are perfectly dressed. Tatum has a classical style while Sloane prefers vintage. I am very proud of them both. Tatum starts her Sophomore year in college in September -- full academic scholarship. Sloane will be a Junior in High School in Bethesda, Maryland, where we are moving to in August. She is always on Highest Honors. Can you tell that I'm a little proud of them?

Hope I didn't bore anyone. One of my kitties, Spats, is sitting on my lap & purring. She sends meows to everyone.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Oh, Karen, you must see her white "lion" cat...just too cute. Unfortunately, the photos were on my computer pre-crash (Deb: hint, hint, hint).

Emma's Kat said...

Not to worry everyone!! They are on my list to post! Matter of fact, Sassy & Spats will be posted tomorrow!! And then Mr. Seaborne will be shortly after them! And Summer....and who am I forgetting Deb!!?? Oh yeah, Sam!

Anonymous said...

what a beautiful cat and such a touching story. bless your heart for having such patience to rescue this tough guy. i've done lotsa rescuing too, and it is always worth it! good luck!

Anonymous said...

From the expression on his face, Bubbles knows exactly how unique and handsome he is. It is that same bored expression that supermodels get that says "yes darling, of course you think I'm beautiful. Now be quiet and worship me."

So good to hear that everyone is on the mend!

Deb, hope you feel better in the next couple of days. I never had a root canal, but (about 20 years ago) I did have a couple of impacted wisdom teeth "dug" out a piece at a time. I do sympathize. When the pain is in your mouth it just seems worse than anywhere else. Hang in there!

Well, here I go to see if it will post. Sounds like you haven't had to much trouble today. Karen C had to check where Lomita was. I had heard the name before and couldn't remember if it was in the bay area or L.A. area. I had a cousin that lived in Torrance but I don't know if she is there anymore. I used to live in the San Gabriel vally, Temple City until 1978 when we moved up here in far Northern CA. I call it the far north because people call the bay area in the north. To me it's in central CA.

Anyhow.......Bubbles is really a handsome cat. His markings are kind of unusual, but he looks cuddly. I think it's really neat when you finally won him over like you did. So neat that you didn't give up. Patches was like that, it took forever to do what I can do now. But now I love it when she will let me pick her up, not for long though, and hug her.

ML, I could send some more pictures of Casper to you if you would like them.

Amber.............can't really tell if she is improving our not. She is still bleeding. But today she seemed to be a little more active. I got a urine sample and took it to the vet day before yesterday but haven't heard from him about the results yet.

Oh yes, Mary Lynn I checked your site and enjoyed Missy's pictures all over again. Oh, of course, I think she is a beauty.

No, I am farther north than Bodega. Don't know if you know where Redding is, or Red Bluff. We live 20 miles from Red Bluff, what you call out in the boonies. We got sick of all the people and traffic down near West Covina and moved up here. I would imagine you have a lot of traffic where you are also. I lived in East Los Angeles, Temple City and Valinda (near west covina)while in So. Cal.

Good Morning! Wel, early morning anyway. Woke up and thought I would blog. ML, I'm sending you new pics right away. Never say that I can't take a hint! Karen: thanks for the sympathy. I love my Fuzz Family!
