Munchkin

This is Munchkin. She is an 8 year old calico. We adopted her when she was about 4 weeks old, and she was tiny! She is the craziest cat I have ever known. She does flips and stands on her head when she wants attention. She is the sweetest baby, and has her daddy wrapped around her paw. However, her favorite thing to do is climb in mommy's lap and nurse, she was taken away from her cat mommy too soon (the lady we adopted her from told us she was 6wks & the runt) so ever since she was a baby she would climb up on my chest and kneed my shoulder and suck on my blouse, and she does it to this day, I end up with a big wet spot on my shirt, but it makes her happy. -Riquel

Good Morning Krusty Crew! Sorry, that's from Spongebob Square Pants. Good Morning Fuzz Family!

Munchkin is a very pretty lady! Calicos are so beautiful because they're are not two alike. I think it's sweet how she still nurses. I think now thouhg, it'a comfort thing. Wow, she really is a sweet and beautiful girl!

Danielle, how is everything? I hope everyone is feeling better.

good morning all! well, i am getting ready to head back home. made it back to knoxville last night. now it is time to go home! sumter here we come. like dorothy said "there's no place like home". it is even true for animals. there's no place like a forever home. could we use that at the NPO website?

munchkin - you are a beauty! just love those "wild looking' stripes in your grey patches. so sweet how you go to your mommy and "nurse". i really like the pic of you on next to the railing. what a pretty belly. tell mommy to rub it for me.

danielle said...

Good morning Fuzz Family! I was just checking the posts from the weekend. OMG Geoffrey is beautiful. Manny is also very cute. Now Munchkin..... Very beautiful. Love the coloring. The best pose is the one with the exposed belly. She needs a good rubbing. I would love to volunter for that job. Does she play with your hand through the railing? We have a cat who loves to do that.

I am going to call the vet today at lunchtime and see how Jake is doing. I hope that he has eaten on his own. I loved seeing him yesterday he was more mobile than he has been. Is it odd tha the kept sitting in his litterbox? That seemed to be his favorite place to sit.

danielle said...

I am terrible. Rosie Happy belated birthday!!!!! How's Bryan?

Emma's Kat said...

Good morning Danielle. I too hope Jake is eating better. It is normal in situations where kitties don't know where they are and may be a little scared. Although, my foster kitten was doing the same yesterday and she wasn't scared or anything. I finally moved the kittens down into the spare room. They were getting too big for the crate and old enough to find the litter box and all. I have lots of pix to show you guys!!

Good Morning Everyone!!!!
Munchkin, you are a very beautiful baby girl. I really love her tabbby calico markings though. I knew a kitty named pumpkin(RIP) that was a calico tabby. riquel, you have a sweet kitty baby, thanks for sharing her with us.

I hope everyone is doing well today.

danielle said...

Kat thank you. I would love the pics sent so I can put them on my site. I wonder if sitting in the litter would be like us sitting on the beach?

Anonymous said...

Danielle,

I'm glad to hear that Jake was a bit better yesterday. Sometimes they sit in their litter boxes as a sense of security but if his problem is kidney related, he might feel pressure to urinate and therefore wants to be on his box. Hope all goes well today and all our prayers and good wishes have helped Jake. We all care and hope you will let us know.

Wow...my baby is Cat of the Day! This is the one I was telling you guys about that eats McDonald's French Fries and Cheetoes. And when she purrs she sounds like she has eaten a cricket, she kind of purrs and chirps at the same time, and she talks all the time!

Linda Kiara, that is funny...yes I was in the door way of my bedroom when I took this picture, it is not a David Cutler home, it is a Colony Home or now KB Home...that's funny though.

Emma's Kat said...

Linda - How old is Kiara now? Just wondering if she's old enough to be now posted on the adult kitty site!

You guys get your minds out of the gutter!!(adult kitty site;)) 'Specially you Rosie! j/k...just pickin.

She is a beautiful girl and all cats are "naughty" at one time or another. We just don't always understand their sense of humor.

Anonymous said...

Hello Fuzz Pack!! I need some advice. The babies are doing fine with weaning. But, Grace is meowing a lot. She is upset. Help, how can I soothe her. Tomorrow I am taking Grace to her "maybe forever home" with Marylynn who lives in Spring, TX. She is very interested in adopting Grace. Her grandson wants to adopt Foster & Pete . Marigold & Brutus should be ready to fly to Rose by the weekend. WE DID IT FUZZ PACK!! I can't thank you all enough for your support!

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They all have homes. It is so awesome. I am soooooo happy!

Deb, I left you a comment on TDK too. Grace senses that something is up. Cat's are VERY intuitive! She may not know what's going on, just that something is going on. Congrats!!!! You've done a fantastic job! There, I think that was almost word for word that I left on TDK. LOL! Good for you Deb!!!!

Anonymous said...

Deb,

I agree with Kim, she is just anxious and senses the changes for her babies and herself. I hope the woman who is meeting Grace will love her as much as we all have come to love her and the babies. You've done a wonderful job. Congratulations!!!!

HOT DAMN, WE DID IT!! Deb, ML, Rose, Rita, Kat--you all worked so hard to find homes for these babies and beautiful Grace. As "The Fuzz Family," we have successfully completed our first rescue & placement! WOW!! ::loud cheering, balloons rising, confetti falling::

Meowmepurr's mumma -- couldn't have said it better :)!! I absolutely love your writing! Your descriptions are wonderful!! We did indeed DO IT! I've been up with Grace giving her lots of attention. She is doing better. The kittens are just bouncing all over the place. I'll send some more pics! THANK YOU SO MUCH FUZZ FAMILY!! p.s. The lady from Spring, TX sounds like a lovely woman. She lost her forever cat last year and can't wait to give Grace love & a new home!!

Munchkin - what a cute name! And what a lovely kitty! (She reminds me of my calico, Fleur. She was a live wire, too.) It's sweet that she's so attached to her human mama.

Moms, that's a great slogan! "There's no place like a forever home." I love it!

It's great to hear about Grace and her kittens. So, they all have properly appreciative humans now? Congratulations to everyone who worked so hard for them! You really deserve the baloons and confetti!

I hope to hear more good news about Jake, too.

Hi Fuzz Pack,
Been having a lot of trouble even getting this site up today. I would imagine Munchkin is a beautiful cat, but so far haven't seen her yet.

Glad to hear Jake is doing good. Prayers for Danielle and Jake.

Missy is in the Kitty Hospital right now. Apparently she didn't fare too well in the cat fight with Gracie. Other than a lot of missing hair, which is okay, the vet found a cut on the bottom of the inside of her mouth. They took a couple of stitches, but it is so swollen it filled up her whole widdle mouth. Her tongue is pushed up against the roof of her mouth. She is having a lot of trouble breathing; she can't eat or drink water.
They've got her on antibiotic and are watching her very closely. Please keep her in your prayers. And say a few prayers for Missy's terrible mommy & daddy for even thinking they liked Grace better than Missy.

Glad to hear Momma Grace & Company have forever homes.

danielle said...

Oh My god poor little kitty. I hope everything is ok. I would hate to see that beautiful creature hurt. We are sending get well soon wishes. Purrs Huggles, the whole nine yards to her. She will be in our thoughts and prayers.

How is Amber?

How is Cleo?

ML, so sorry to hear about MBE! You know, it's that woman thing. They don't it a Cat Fight when women get together, for nothing. We are thinking of her and hoping for a speeding recovery! Give Missy a hug and kiss from me and a nose kiss from Oscar and a hot toung kiss from Simon! HEY SIMON YOUNG MAN, you cut that out right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry ML, he's not fixed yet! Hope that put a smile on your face. I know this is a stressful time for you.

Grace and MBE, you young ladies need to be nice now. Your fuzz sisters and need to set a good example! LOL!

Rosie, your crazy! Those are the two most decent pics I had of Munchkin. Normally she lays around the house spread eagle all the time. My husband and I joke that she is posing for "Play Kitten".

Well, sure hope I can get this posted this time. Was on earlier this morning but couldn't post either here or on PDJ. Munchkin, you are a really pretty kitty. Love that Riquel got a picture of how your coloring is on your back and then on your belly. Wouldn't think you had so much white on the first pic. Bet anything your claws come out if you try to rub that pretty belly.

Mary Lynn, Casper and I are so sorry to hear about Missy. Prayers going up for our little girlfriend. Can't remember who went after who, but wonder if the kittens Grace had could have made that difference or not.

Danielle, hope Jake is progressing a lot better. Got prayers going up for both Jake and Missy. Cleo is back to normal. As I said before I think that she might have gotten something outside that didn't agree with her. Amber, she is another story. She is taking her meds like a good girl but it isn't helping. Her bleeding wasn't a whole lot to begin with but she is still bleeding. She seems more lethargic. Going to call the vet and give him a report as soon as I get off. She is still eating good though and doing her jobs outside. Guess that is a good sign. Glad that all kittens and Grace have found a forever home.

OMG! I just feel horrible about Missy. I just left a message on ML's phone. ML -- please call me! I really don't know what to say except that we are so sorry!! Missy, please get well!

Emma's Kat said...

ML, hope you got my email. Sorry so late getting back to ya! Again, sorry to hear about MBE's mouth!

Deb, I posted a comment below to you.

Fuzzball prayers for everyone, you know who you are!

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Well everyone, Missy is back at home. I have to really watch her tonight in case she can't breath, they will "tube" her, whatever that is. But there is only about a 30% chance of that happening.
She had a stitch and the bottom of her mouth is swollen up like a marble, she can barely close her mouth. But she is a tough little girl. If all goes well, she'll go in Thursday to be checked again.
Yes, definitely the kittens had everything to do with it. It's just cat-like, maternal instinct. Gracie is a good, protective Momma.
I bought Missy a new SuperScratcher (you know what those are?), they are her favorite things in the world. She is stretched out on it now. Bear missed her so much, the dog and cat get along great.
Thanks all for your concern, and keep those prayers and purrs coming for Missy the next few days. Her nickname is Mew-Mew -- although some thing it is Hissy, ha-ha.

Emma's Kat said...

Lol, what about Hissy Missy ML?! LOL! Sorry Missy, we love you!

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Well, it's an improvement over Pissy Missy! That's what Charley calls her when she hisses.

Anonymous said...

I'm so glad that Missy is home. I hope that she continues to improve. Grace says that she is so sorry!

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Missy has been hungry, didn't know what to feed her, she only eats hard cat food and kitty grass. I had a can of tuna in water, and poured off some of the water. Missy lapped it up, then proceeded to the open can (the tuna is shredded really fine) and is gobbling that down now.
I think she is going to make a really fast recovery.
Missy knows Grace was just being a good mommy -- remember, Missy had a litter herself when she was 5 months old. Rumor has it she was fierce protecting those kits. She was still a street cat at that time. Think that's where she learned that HISS!
Opps, just turned around for a second, Bear (poodle) found the tuna. Gotta go...

Anonymous said...

I'm so happy that Missy is eating! Grace & company were worried! Me too!! Thank you for understanding that Grace was in "protective mode"! She is really such a love.

Anonymous said...

Glad that Missy can eat. That stitches thing was scary! I so hope she's well fast.

Still pulling for Jake, too!

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Deb,
Love your pictures of Seaborne? Hope I got his name right. Love the one called the lion sleeps tonight. Too cute cause he just got a lion cut. You must send these in for posting or Kat will get on you about it. Rules is rules.
You know how I was whining about Missy not being affectionate? I was exhausted after we got home, laid down for a second, she got up beside me, purred and went to sleep. I kid you not. Wish I had photos.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Yea! I finally see Munchkin. She is very pretty. Get a photo of her standing on her head, too! She has such big eyes. And she is a Daddy's girl. Too sweet.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Everyone knows by now Miss Missy has one stitch in her lower jaw and is doing fine. We do have to keep close watch on her tonight to be sure there are no breathing problems.
Gracie is probably the sweetest little angel cat I have ever met. But is a fiercely good momma cat. If the kittens had not been present, it never would have happened.

BTW, one thing Deb hasn't mentioned is how rare it is for a female cat to be orange. We were talking this fact about while playing with the kittens. Rose, your Marigold is a treasure in more ways than one. And Momma Gracie is very rare as well. Someone told me back when I researching cats they call a male calico or a female orange a "money cat". Cause it's so rare. Maybe some of the Fuzz Pack cat experts know about this.

Thank you, Fuzz Pack, for your prayers, purrs, good wishes and cards for Missy.

And let's say some thank you prayers to Momma Gracie for making it against the odds and raising four of the most gorgeous kittens ever. And to Debra, because let's face it, Momma Grace & Company would not be here today without her. Yeah, Debra!

Anonymous said...

Munchkin is a very pretty girl. My cat Isabelle used to kneed my shoulders and lick my neck. It was rather cute when she was a kitten, but eventually I had a 16 pound cat sitting on my chest and I couldn't breathe! I did manage to transfer her display of affection to my forearm--because the last thing I wanted to explain to anyone was how I got a hickey from my cat! She would purr an earthshaking loud purr when she gave me kisses.

Munchkin has some incredibly fluffy looking belly fur. I don't think I could resist tickling it just a little

Anonymous said...

Go Missy, glad to hear you are eating. Very good sign. Prayers are still going up for you and Jake. Goodness sake, Missy was a baby herself when she became a Mom. Sure can't berate a momma acting like a momma.

We went to Wal-Mart today and a lady was finding homes for kittens, two orange and one grey. They were so cute. She said they all had found homes but she was waiting for the people to come out of the store to take them home. Of course, their new Moms or Dads had to buy all the stuff for a new baby. I was so glad to hear she had found homes for them. I did think of Grace and babies since there were two orange kittens.

Emma's Kat said...

ML - Yep, I've heard of it. As a matter of fact, my Benji (I'll email you a pic) came from a group of about 10 "caught" kittens. There were others that we weren't able to catch or trap for that matter! They came from a colony of ferrals behind an office bldg. You may remember me talking about them, but Oh Well! You're gonna hear it again! lol Anyway, we of course don't know for sure who had the same mom and what not, but the first group we caught (in a matter of a week, week and a half) were composed of two black and white/brown male tabbies, two male orange and two female orange! We know for sure the tom cat was a huge orange kitty. My sister-in-law has seen him. Then in the second wave of kittens, there was [another]Grace who was a buff orange female. I don't know if she counts for the rare factor as she is more of a buff colored orange. I will eventually have pix of Benji's sisters, Emma(not my Emmie) & Grace.

Karen S. - In case you're not familiar w/the rules around here...lol...you mention your kitties name, you must send pics to be posted for everyone's viewing pleasure!!! OK?? :)

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Casper's Mom - Taking the kittens in front of a Walmart is a really good marketing tactic. Walmart probably won't object since, like you said, the new owners will be buying up kitty stuff. And think of how many people go in and out of Walmart, the exposure those kittens would get.
Of course, me being so picky and all, I'd be real careful who I gave one of those kittens to. "...oh, you'd like a kitten. We have a few questions we'd like to ask you...step this way, please."

Anonymous said...

Got this message from Marylynn:

Hi, again! My daughter and I are going to surprise my grandson about the kittens, and I know he'll love them. He has made copies from the website and printed "Remember the kitties" at the top of each page! He reminds my daughter and me about them every couple of hours!! Such a funny kid!

So, yes, please bring all three and their "things"!! We are really looking forward to having them all.

And thank you so much (in advance) for bringing them to us.
Marylynn is going to keep Grace and her grandson (age 13) wants Pete & Foster.

Brutus & Marigold will soon be winging their way to Rose.

ML, Kat, Karen, and all the other Fuzz Family, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING YOU HAVE DONE FOR THIS WONDERFUL CAT FAMILY.

ML, I'm so glad that Missy is better and that she doesn't hold a "grudge"! Let me know if I can help in any way.

MEOWS TO EVERYONE!

Emma's Kat said...

That's so cool Deb!!! I'm so happy for Grace and kits!

BTW, Everyone click on the link to Man Oh Manny in my links section!! Look at today's post!! I'm so excited! I can't believe it! Thanks so much Manny!!

Mary Lynn, you are so right about the kind of home those kittens might be getting. Questions would be a good thing to do. Just have to hope that they are getting a good one.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Well, if we use that tactic, we will ask questions, get phone numbers, drop by unannounced for a home inspection, check their driving record, research their family history on the internet...J/K! But we probably would get phone numbers and follow up, just cause we love kitties!
Just gave Missy her medicine, first time I've ever given medicine to a cat. It was very easy, probably because she didn't know it was coming. Now she knows! We'll see how it goes tomorrow at 10 a.m.

Wow, there's Kat's Cat on Manny's Today's Post.

Deb, maybe get us some pix of the new homes. Hopefully Marylynn will post on Kat's? Keep us updated? That would be neat!

Oh, and Deb, if I have problems giving Hissy Missy her meds tomorrow, guess who I'll call???? Ha-ha!
