Rosie the Rose - 100th Kitty to be Posted!!

Rosie was found at the Persian and Himalayan Rescue Foundation in Mill Valley, CA, a great organization. She is a red 2-year old Persian who was rescued by the group from a shelter after being left by her family(for what reasons we don't know). We had originally intended to adopt two Himalayan sisters, who had similar colorings to Shadow, our 19-year old whom we had lost several weeks previously, but couldn't resist this orange bundle. She has adapted beautifully and is growing in her hair. Although all her traits are cute to me (proud mom), her best is when she rolls over for a tummy rub and gently grabs your hand with all fours. Or perhaps when she sleeps on your chest snoring so loudly (smoosh face) with her very long whiskers going up your nose. We are very blessed. -Kathleen

She is a beautiful girl and I love the description of her personality. She sounds like she has lots of charm. Thanks for sharing her with us.

Good morning! She is so cute! Wish I could see her in person. Lucky Karen C.!! I don't know that I've ever seen a Persian in person! Terrible, huh?! She is a beautiful girl and too cute w/her shaved self! Would love to see her w/hair grown in!

Kathleen - We're all anxious to hear about her and Cairo! How are things going w/them?

How's Jake, Danielle? And everyone else?!

ML - If you're on today, hope you feel better soon! Stay rested! I too like the idea of calling the name and email address list...The Fuzz Family Tree. What does everyone think? Like, ML said, anyone who wants to be on the list can go thru me and I will make sure ML gets all your info. All the regular fuzz pack that comments everyday is on the list of course.

Rosie the Rose is beautiful. Love the description. She looks like such a sweetie. Please give her a tummy rub for me!

ML: HOPE YOU ARE FEELING BETTER. If you need anything, you have my numbers!

She is so cute Riquel will go nut when she sees he ahahahahha se is going to want her for SIMBA LOL she is funny looking but Beautiful lol

Aaaawww she is cute! Her nose is a little more squishy than his, but she kinda looks like my Simba (see March archives). Isn't it amazing, and disgusting how people can just dump off their pets for any or no reason at all. I know life throws some punches at you, but I would live in a box with my babies before I gave them up, or at least ask grandma to take them in for awhile. I guess that is because to me they are not cats, they are my babies, my children, hairy and a little funny looking, but my babies none the less.

100th CAT!!!! And such a beauty to be posted too!!! Kathleen, your description of Rosie just made her leap off the page and come to life! She is a lovely lady AND she loves tummy rubs!!!!!!

Kat, I just types a big ole congrats, got emotional too, and Blogger got rid of it!!! ARGH!!! Well, I'm not up to typing it all again so I'll say this, I'm so proud to be a part of something that was started because we felt the big kitties were being left out. I remember your first post! And then you made your site even better when you not only honored present kitties, but you also honored kitties past. That meant so much to those who loved and then lost their pet and you let us share is their lives. It takes a special person to care so much for her Fuzz Family! And Kat, you are special and I'm happy to have you as a friend. You ladies, you're all my best friends and I look forward to reading your posts everyday. And like a snowball, we pick up someone new every now and then, and they become a member of the family too. Thanks Kat, for being such a great Kat Master!

ya, what she said!

ML, if you're up, read the posts then GO BACK TO BED! Get better soon, we're thinking of you!

Why thank you Kim!! You're so sweet and ditto to you! I'm so glad to have you as a friend, as well as all my Fuzz Family!! It's so great having great kitty lover friends! That I can talk to endlessly about my kitties! And anything, for that matter!! And even though we can't be there physically for each other, we are definately there for each other in mind and heart! I love you guys!

Riquel - We'll have to get a picture from Kathleen of Rosie w/her hair grown out and then a pic of Simba and I'll post them together! Maybe they'll be online sweethearts like Casper and MBE...lol!

Anonymous said...

Ditto for Kim's remark. I have such a great circle of new friends. Hankie needed now!

Kat, where in Virginia do you live, I will have to visit you when we move up to Maryland. My daughter attends college in Lynchberg.
ML: IF YOU ARE READING THIS, THEN YOU KNOW YOU ARE BEING NAUGHTY AND SHOULD BE RESTING! SO....REST, DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS, GET BETTER!

Anonymous said...

Oh ya, he would probably like an online sweetheart! It would probably be nice for him to have a feline woman in his life that doesn't smack at him every chance they get, or pin him to the ground and stand on top of them, while they are screaming at the top of their lungs. He is 3 years old, so they would be purrrfect for each other.

Anonymous said...

that should have been stand on top of him

Emma's Kat said...

Poor Simba! lol

Deb - I live in Virginia Beach or VABeach as we say. That would be great!

Anonymous said...

It's kind of funny in a way. The first time it happened, my husband and I weren't in the room, and all of a sudden we heard this awful screaming coming from Charlotte. Well I took off to see if she was okay, cause Indigo is always chasing and harrassing her, I walk in the room Simba is on his back, Charlotte has her two front paws on him holding him down, and she is screaming at the top of her lungs. Simba is just laying there, looking at me like, whatever, but if it wouldn't be too much trouble, can you get her off of me? He is so laid back it is funny.

Balloons and invisible cookies for everyone!! Kat, thank you for all the hard work you have done, bringing us all together and really making a FAMILY of all of us.

THREE CHEERS FOR KAT!!

KATHLEEN-- Your sweet Rosie is just as cute as a bug's left ear! I, too, have always had a soft spot for himis, having been owned by 3 of them. I just love Rosie's summer cut, but I can't wait to see her in all her fluffy glory either.

ML--Rest and get better soon!!

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

Riquel, that's hysterical! I can see it now, "Uh, like, can you get her off of me please? She's ruining the vibe."

LOA, I'm learning them too. I'm not down with the lingo that much but I'm getting better! LOL!

Ya know Rosie, I forgot to mention that I had a Himi/Persain named Toby when I was growing up. Toby was the most laid back cat and LOVED belly rubs! He was all white, and I mean WHITE! We lost him in the snow when he was a kitten. From that day on though, he decided he liked being dirty and so always layed in the dirt. That cat had a bath at least once a week for the first serveral years of his 18 year life!

Danielle - Hope all is well! You better have a good excuse! lol Mine was my hubby hogging the computer! It better be good! In all seriousness, I do hope all is well!

Morning everyone!

Hi RtheR! So nice to finally see your pic. Kathleen, you are so wonderful to adopt Rosie and Cairo.

I can't believe this is the 100th kitty! Didn't we just get started? Kona was 3rd kitty back on March 23rd.

This is such a wonderful site to come to everyday. Like all of you, M,K, & W aren't "just cats"--there's no such thing. Like Riquel said, they are our babies.

For those of you who also like horses, check out the mini on Pet of the Day:

I wonder what our cats would think of that pet in the backyard :-)

Sorry, sorry, sorry! But do go check out the video on Cute Overload. Oh my, those hesitant first steps.

OK, I'll leave you alone for awhile...

So happy to finally see the lovely Rosie the Rose. What a beautiful girl. And now she has a sister. Congratulations. Rosie is something special and was worth the wait -- and she is the 100th cat! Wow!

I too like Karen S's idea of the Fuzz Family Tree, tomorrow I will have it finished (hopefully...). I had to get up to feed and walk the dog (ahem), HAD to check the two sites (Kats and PDJ). going back to sleep now.

Charley's nurse will be here at noon, and the housekeeper at 1, fortunately, and his physical therapist (whew), so he'll be busy. And I can rest without worrying about him (he has to be watched 24/7). Right now I have neighbors looking in on him while I SLEEP. Feeling better, if not, going to the doctor in the a.m.

Miss "talking" to you...ML

Karen - Rut-roh! lol

Good point, Karen-but so much fun!!!! A day isn't complete without checking onto our Fuzz sites for me. Congrats to Kat (100), GS and Danielle for providing us with these wonderful forums and so many beautiful cats and other wonderful pictures.

Good afternoon everyone. I got in trouble at work and this is my only post for today. I will be on tonight 5:30ish. eastern time.

Rosie the Rose you are beautiful!!!! Congrats on 100 kitties.

Jake pulled out a stitch and we have to go to the vets tonight. He is eating a little bit. He gets mad after the meds so he doesn't want to eat. I will report later. Have a great day!

Lynn said...

Good Afternoon All,

Kat I can't believe this is your 100th cat posted either. Boy does time fly! Love Rosie the Rose, its cute she likes belly rubs, wish my Ella did :-( Wonder how her and Cairo are getting along?

ML I can only imagine what you must be going through. Make sure you take care of yourself.

Ella sends purrs out to Jake and tells him to be a good boy and follow doctors orders!

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

Hi again, I'm back for a few minutes while Bear eats again. Then it's off to walk her. Wish dogs used litter boxes.

Danielle, what is with Jake?? Is he another of those little devil cats with the sugar cookie faces?

So Jakey pulled a stitch now. You have your hands full with him, don't you! Watch your mail, sent you something yesterday.

Okay, it's off to poop...for Bear... and back to rest.

Kat, thanks for the beautiful bowl of soup. So delicious and absolutely zero calories.

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

Hello all, just checking in. Sorry that you got in trouble Danielle. I hope it's not serious.

Rose and Rosie, where are you? I need my daily dose of sane and insane. Wait, the insane would be me, wouldn't it?! HAHA!!

That's it, not much to report. I'm still emotionally drained from my post this morning! LOL!

OH, Sean will be home in two days, but who's counting?!

Emma's Kat said...

Yeah! Deb's name is now in blue! Now you just need to fill out your profile page! :)

ML - Your welcome of the soup. Hope it makes you feel a little better! :)

Danielle - Are you not gonna be able to post in the mornings now?

He everyone! Good evening! I am on my way to bed. I haven't stopped since I got home. Running all around. I want to give a Jake update. The vet is not going to replace the stitch he pulled out so it will have a chance toget all the gookie stuff out. He is going to take a pill everyday for 10 days. He was taking liquid amox. but his face and paws just turned pink. (fighter) As did my clothes. Hopefully one pill will work. I chose to go back to the baby food. He is gobbeling that up. YEAH!!!!! Well I have court tomorrow and will be home. I am thinking about staying on the computer all day. I will hopefully be home by 9. 10 at the latest. I will do some posting then. Good night. I hope everyone is feeling well. I hope the migrane is gone. I hope the worries of vacationing children subsides. I will see you all tomorrow. I love my Fuzz Family!

Oscar the Puppy Cat said...

Good night sweetie, take it easy!

Anonymous said...

Rosie is lovely! I love her smoosh face. Persians always look like babies to me, even when they are all grown up.

ML-I'm looking forward to getting my copy of the Fuzz Family Tree (I didn't know I was coining a phrase--I was just trying to be a little bit funny)--after you are feeling better. Take care of yourself!

Can't believe this is the 100th kitty! It really has been a wonderful first 100 days, with many more to come! Thanks, Kat! (Hope your area isn't flooded with all the rain on the east coast)

Must fo for now, His Royal Highness, Oreo the 1st is meowing my name. I am being summoned to lift him to his food dish. He never eats all of his food at one time. Unfortunately, Sammy, our dog, will scarf up anything that isn't nailed down. So, I have to keep the cat's dish on the counter top where Sam can't reach it. And, Oreo insists on being lifted to the countertop, as jumping up on his own is beneath him!

that was supposed to be "must go for now"--slip of the finger

Hi everyone,
I'm up again -- you guessed it, Bear was hungry! Each time she has gotten me up, I've posted someplace. Poodle are hyper, even when they are 16+ years old.

When I woke up a few minutes ago, Missy Blue Eyes was right on the bed with me. Yea! This is only the second or third time she's done that. Bear fell asleep someplace else, usually she is right beside me.

Deb, I'm with you about the beach. Love it. I'm past sunworshipping, too. But love the water, the sounds. Have a friend in Tiki Village (Texas City near Galveston), love her house. It's built up over the water, you can barely hear each other talk for the ocean noise. We were thinking about moving there for retirement, but with hurricanes and all, I'm not sure.

Emma's Kat said...

Karen S. - No flooding in our area, but not far down the street, yes. They were starting clean up today and declaring Sandbridge and Back Bay as disaster areas. I too have a dog named Sammie. Sammie, short for Samantha. Is your dog a boy? You should send pix into PDJ! Would love to see your Sammy!

Deb - That's me too. I so enjoy walking along the beach at night and the smells and sounds. Don't like the sun and water. I hate swimming in the ocean. Won't do it! Nope! So, you're moving to MD? When? You probably already said, so I'll go back and read.

Emma's Kat said...

Oh, Deb - I'm not sure how far Bethesda is from me. When I get time I will try and find out!
