Isabelle

Isabelle was my first fur baby. I used to joke that because she was a black cat, she must have witch's magic, because she certainly bewitched me from the beginning. She had a pink puffball that she carried around like a child with a blankie. Unfortunately, on one of our many moves with the army, puffball was lost. I swear she grieved for that puffball and she never much cared for playing with any other toy after that. She loved to hide in boxes and paper bags and under the covers. She was probably the most affectionate cat I've ever had. She is the one who kneeded her paws and licked my neck. She and my grandfather got along famously. They would nap together in his recliner in front of the TV. Two weeks after he passed away, Isabelle became very ill. She was diagnosed with diabetes (at the age of 12) and I had to have her euthanized. I know she is waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge, sitting on my Grandpa's lap under a shade tree. -Karen S.

**Don't forget to check out Bari's foster fam HERE! Also, check out Emma's new blog: A Blog for Emma! And last, but not least, scroll all the way to the bottom of Kat's Cat and play w/my adopted pet benji. Think I'll change his name when I get the time. Sorry he's all the way at the bottom, but he wouldn't fit up higher.**

~ML - A message to you: Isabelle was a true tuxedo! White underside's and white whiskers and feet. This is cool! I like this secret highlighting stuff! Someone will probably figure it out!

Good morning! I swear! I didn't plan this! Posting two tuxedos in a row. Didn't I do this before, oh, it was black cats. Anyway!

Karen S. - Isabelle was a beauty! It sounds like she was a sweety too! I'm so sorry for your loss! Everytime I read the end of Isabelle's story I cry! It's so sweet to think of her and your grandfather!

Everyone - I just figured out how to use the hyperlinks last night! I just hadn't really every taken the time to figure them out. So, in the blue paragraph, if you didn't already know, click on the words in diffrent color...they are links.

Good Morning, Fuzz Family!! It's good to be home and back on my own computer, with all my bookmarks and stuff. Not to mention my dear old spouse, and my furry gang. I finally felt at home when Meepsie curled up behind my knees.

KAREN S.--your Isabelle was a beauty, and sounds like a good girl, too! I agree that she is waiting, with Grandpa. It is good to think of our loved ones, both the 4 foots and the 2 foots waiting together! A while back, my sister furnished the Rainbow Bridge with sofas for the dogs. Her dogs always slept on the sofa, so she figured there should be sofas for the Bridge.

Well, the monsoon season started while I was in Tucson. 105 and low humidity is one thing, 105 and raining is the pits!! Thank heaven for ac!! Other than the weather, I had a great time!! If you want to see my grumbles, check at Venters.

I need to check around and see what else has happened while I was gone--TTFN

Morning all,

Hello Isabelle! What a cutie she was. I like her other friend too, in the background on the bed.

That's Bear Donna. Isn't he just the cutes fluffball! He'll be posted next weekend.

KC and the Giggleman Kitties said...

I love Bear, too. He/she has a perfect diamond on the face. Can't wait to see Bear close up.

My last post, I meant to say:
Yea Karen C. She is a smart cookie... because she was the first to find the secret message!

Meowmepurr, I know what you mean about being home and normal again. Especially sleeping in your own bed. So glad Meepsie welcomed you home.

Isabelle, looks like you had a lot of love from grandpa and Karen S when you were here on this earth. I see that you live on in Karen's heart as well it should be. You are one pretty kitty. Who is the cutie laying behind you on the bed???

Hubby, is doing O.K. today and we did get to go to our son's house for dinner yesterday but we did not stay for the fireworks as he was getting tired.

Had this racket going on behind me and Cleo was trying to get a frog in between the windows. I tried to close it and get him but I would have squished it so it finally got on the floor and I took it out before Cleo could play with it. Poor Cleo???

Hello Fuzz Family!

Isabelle, she was such a lovely girl. It's so obvious that you really loved her and love her still. It's wonderful that she and your Grandfather formed that special bond. It broke her heart when he passed so she decided to be with him and keep him company. I know that she didn't die of a broken heart but it's romantic to think that's what really happened. I know it was hard for you but you did the right thing.
And all I can do is echo everyone else, she IS waiting for you, along with Grandpa, at the Rainbow Bridge!

Mumma, you're home! We missed you! It's good that you got to see your Mom, but I know you're happy to be home with your hubby and furr babies!

Did everyone have a great 4th?

Isabelle, you are very pretty. I love the tuxedo cats. Mrs. B are very happy to see all the other tux-friends.

By the way, I added some links to my page to other fuzz-family blogs. If your blog is not there, please let me know and I'll add it.

What wonderful memories to have of your beautiful Isabelle. She sounded like a really loving kitty and as your furrst fuzz baby, probably helped you to decide to take in other kitties as seen on the picture on the left. If you started out with a really difficult cat, it might have made you think again about getting another one.

I'm leaving for Denver tonight so I'll be gone for a week. The fuzz pack has been talking about having a "reunion" (which is funny since most of us haven't met each other before!) and the group I'm going to see are people I've met on the internet. I'm going to the 19th annual Beauty and the Beast convention! When I first hooked up to the internet in 1999, while surfing around, I decided to look up my favorite TV show from the 1980s. I had NO IDEA that there were still fan groups in existence for a TV show that's been off the air for so long. I visited all the sites, read all the fan fic I could find, and joined in various discussion groups. They finally talked me into going to the 2003 convention in San Francisco and though they were a complete bunch of strangers that I only knew online, they were the nicest bunch of people and welcomed me into the fold. I made a whole lot of friends from across the country and have since gone to all the following conventions. It sounds like the fuzz pack gathering could be just like that and I'm seriously thinking about going too! Here's a link to my favorite BATB website (there are a lot more out there!): http://www.classicalliance.net/index.html and a link to the convention website: http://www.rememberthemagic.net/

I'll catch up with everyone next week when I get back.

I tried to post while I was at work today, but I lost my wireless connection.

Thanks to everyone for all the kind words about my Izzy. She died in 1997 and it was a really bad year for me. I also lost my maternal grandmother, got divorced, and had to totally uproot and move back to KY and find a new job. But that is all nearly 10 years in my past and I only think of Isabelle with smiles.

That is Bear on the bed with her. He was a great cat also--a couple of years younger than Isabelle. I have small framed pictures of both of them in my shadow box.

Here's a "special needs" cutie left homeless after Katrina:

Linda, I hope you have a safe trip and a wonderful time! I hope our fuzz gathering will be as successful as the one you travel to every year! I can't wait to meet you and everyone here. BTW, when we have it and if you come, I have some things I'd like you to pick up for me. I'll send you the money of course. It's getting harder and harder for Grams to get out and I hate to have her buy and send thing too me. Tamarind Candy, coconut balls, rice cakes, porkhash (SP?) and the list goes on! LOL! I'll be nice, I promise! But seriously, have a WONDERFUL time!

Thanks, Kim! I'm wrapping things up here at work before heading home to finish packing. They'll just have to do without me next week! :) On previous conventions, I've brought boxes of chocolate covered shortbread cookies from Big Island Candies in Hilo but this year I'm bringing Mauna Loa chocolate covered macadamia nuts. Gotta give the mainland people a taste of Hawaii!

i probably won't have too much time to post the rest of this week. it seems work has picked up and i am doing new stuff. tomorrow i have to write my first contract. it is mostly fill in the blank but i have to fill them in correctly. i still haven't figured out why our engineering firm has to write a contract between the client and the contractor. i guess it is because the client is a public college.

isabelle was a special kitty. she knew she had you hook, line and sinker as a kitty person even if you didn't think you were. such a pretty face. love the pic of her in the box looking up at the camera. great pic. i can see her in my minds eye waiting for you w/ your grandpa at the rainbow bridge. she has her little pink puffball in her mouth waiting to share it with you. "mommy, i finally found my puffy!" tissues please (the whole box)

kat and ml, i got the hidden message earlier but didn't have time to post a reply. i finally saw benji, got about 30 seconds to play w/ him. still can't see neko.

hope tomorrow finds everyone in good health, good spirits, and good fortune. good night all!
