Rascal

Although I've always loved cats, I never thought we'd have one since my husband was a confirmed cat hater. But one summer a little tabby stray won him over. After the stray disappeared, he wanted to get a kitten, but he had 2 requirements: 1) a male 2) with personality. That's when a little black kitten we named Rascal came into our lives. That was a little over 6 years ago and Rascal's been master of the house ever since. He was definitely more than we bargained for. We've sometimes joked that 5 other cats must have been short changed on the personality thanks to Rascal. One thing he's learned to do is sit up and beg for kitty treats. He's so cute that I don't have the heart to tell him that this is actually a dog trick and beneath a cat's dignity. He learned it so well that he sits up anytime he wants something: for treats, to see what I'm cooking, to be let in, to be let out, to play with his toys. -Leigh

Rascal is just so cute. He looks really serious. That is great about the personality and the tricks. Hope he keeps you entertained for years to come.

Hi Fuzz Pack,
SBC finally fixed the line problems early this morning. When you lose both phone and DSL, it is like you are totally cut off from everything. Because you are.

Rascal, you are a beautiful kitty. I am a little partial to black cats. Isn't it a neat thing when a confirmed cat hater "melts" and knows the joys of having a cat around.

And Kat. Wow. I got a package in the mail yesterday. Maybe you all could hear me squealing and yelling (and crying). Got a wonderful DLS and no one to tell! I LOVE IT. It is so cool. It's got my favorite picture of my favorite cat, Missy. And it has an inscription from you guys. Thanks so much. I'm more tempted to frame it than actually use it. Hee-hee.

Thanks again, so much.

Good Morning! Rascal is beautiful!

Great news! Karen was able to meet Norma, animal lover and long time rescuer. Norma offered to foster the beautiful shelter kitty we've named Jade (because of her eyes). I think it was just in time, because Jade has been too scared at the shelter to eat and has lost so much weight you can feel every bone. Norma is an artist who works from home (and does beautiful paintings), and is a lovely person. Jade now has a quiet loving home with a patient woman who's willing to help her adjust. Unfortunately, Jade's reactions indicate that she was probably abused, so the adjusting may take some time. Please pray that this sweet kitty can get healthy again and learn to trust. And, thank God for Norma! THANK YOU KAREN!

UPDATE ON TENNESSEE KITTIES:
Samantha rescued the kitties and took them home. Samantha is fostering them, but since she is pregnant, can only do so for a few days. I have sent out tons of emails asking for help. IMOMS is helping too. Hopefully we will have a home today!

OOOH, I love Rascal's little face!!! He's so knowing and those eyes are penetrating! He's very handome and sounds like he has the best personality! Spend a little time with a cat and even a cat hater can't resist!

Thanks for the reminder Kat! This get together is going to be such a blast!!!

Good Morning Fuzz Family!

Morning all, Rascal is so handsome, and what a beautiful coat! Sounds like he definitely keeps things lively. The begging things sounds so cute, I can just picture it.

Deb that's great about Jade. Sounds like you found the perfect home for her.

Ella and Fitzgerald had another go round this morning. Fitz went after Ella out of nowhere had her pinned down. Then I break it up and Ella chased Fitz into my room under my bed. I had to spray them with my water bottle to quiet things down. I just don't know what I'm gonna do with those two.

I'm still worried about Fitz, his eye hasn't gotten better yet and is still watering some. I'm wondering if Ella might have scratched him in the eye during one of their fights. He has no problems seeing or anything that I can tell, he just squints sometimes cause his eye gets sorta gunky and I have to keep cleaning it. I know I need to probably get him to the vet, but I can't really afford it right now. I'm gonna try to get him there soon though.

ELLA'S MOM Hi! My Simon has the same problem. There is a simple, inexpensive solution. Go to the health food story and buy Lysine. You can put it on his food or if you can find the paste, some vets have it, feed it directly too him. It only take 2ml of the paste. We give it too him 2x a day. This was recomemded by the vet. It works. The drainage is some kind of eye allergy.

EVERYONE must check out Cute Overload today! The second picture is so cute it will have you in tears!!!

GATTINA-Welcome to the Fuzz Pack. If you check the sidebar, you will see that there are lots of us, and we do like to talk about our cats! We also manage to DO things. Mostly, through our network and DEB*, we rescue cats and kittens. I'm about to lose count and we've only been at it since March!

Good Morning Fuzz Sisters! Added Hoorays to Deb*, Karen, Norma and Samantha! That's three more!!

RASCAL- you sound like you are properly named! My sister had a cat who was just beautiful-and dumb as a post. We used to laugh that he was back in line for looks, and missed the brains line all together. Anyhow, I very much enjoy your comments, and I will try to keep Miss Meepsie from harassing you. She seems to be partial to the black boys, and Casper!

Rascal - You are a very handsome boy. You sound like a very fun kitty to have around.
Leigh, my husband was not a cat person when we first meet. That was until he meet my cat Taps. It is funny how those who hate cats meet that one kitty that changes everything.
Gattina- welcome to the Fuzz family.
Good Morning Fuzz Family!!!!!
I hope everyone is doing fine.

I can relate to the "cat hater", although mine was more a "cat avoider" since I was afraid of cats. Like Charley always says, all it takes is the RIGHT cat.

Rascal like Meowmepurrs said above you look like you are properly named, and what Rosie said you do look like you mean business even if you do have beautiful eyes. So glad your Daddy turned around and can't live without you now. You are quite the handsome cat.

Yes, I find it really amazing how many of us are in the fuzz family since March. Gattina I also welcome you.

Can't get Casper posted yet, blogger is being a blooper this morning and it's almost noon.

We have our house up for sale now. Since the last episode with Frank we just can't take care of our 3.65 acres out here in the boonies anymore. I will be busy taking each room at a time and cleaning thoroughly. If it sells I might not have so much cleaning to do then. I hope. Got to go see if I can post again

Rascal you look like a character. And I like your blog.

Finally got Casper posted.

Last night when I was feeding Amber the cats were waiting for their snacks. Casper and Cleo sat up on their haunches and batting each other back and forth. It was so cute. But of course when I got the camera on they quit. Camera was on the kitchen table too and I got it quite quick. I would have loved to have gotten that picture.

Rascal, you are such a handsome cat and you have your humans trained well. You know JUST what to do to get what you want!

And yes, isn't it a blast to turn cat dislikers/avoiders into cat likers/lovers? My aunty, who I go to the movies with every Sunday, is a confirmed DOG person. Her basis for disliking cats are the neighbor's cats who apparently do the tango on her car at night and leave putty paw prints that she has to constantly wipe off. But Bebe won her over. He usually hides when strangers visit but she comes over so often that he's gotten used to her and decided to work his charm on her. He always comes over to greet her, gives her head butts, and rubs his face on her feet. And she LIKES him! Now she looks for her "buddy" when she visits. We need to fumigate our house for termites in 2 weeks and she's agreed to take all 4 cats for the day. All because of Bebe!

Well, at least Miss Meowmepurr, herownself, isn't the only one propositioning the boys!!

Like Deb*, I have been out all day, eye doc, mall crawl(while I waited for my glasses), groceries. Whoopee! Well, they got one pair out of three done, so at least one more trip to the Mall. My eyes are fine, no problems, which is nice, since my favorite things are reading, cross-stitch, knitting, and the infernal tube!

Try to keep cool, all of you Back East. We had ours, but I'm sorry you are getting it too.
