Kandinsky (RIP)

Kandinsky was dumped as a kitten-cat at the Glasgow Cat and Dog Home in 2000. We took her home. At first she growled a lot. She farted and walked like a cowboy. Before too long I found she had given birth in my wardrobe. Too young to be a mum Kandi hid all the kittens from us so we couldn't keep them warm enough. She had been booked in for sterilisation - but it turns out it was a bit late! Since then she has been a very happy cat - and easily the noisiest cat I have ever met. She loves to make her opinions known, which is sensible I think. She is very affectionate and ADORES attention - the more strokes the better. She is also a fantastic judge of character. She can sniff out a cat hater miles off and deliberately heads straight for them to try to prove that cats are loveable. Unfortunately this rarely has the desired result! About a year ago Kandi became ill (skin irritation etc). She was given steroid treatment and it calmed down. This summer she became ill again - we assumed it was the same condition until a lump appeared on her face. We took her to the vets who diagnosed lymphoma. I am proud of my cat - she's still not making any fuss despite the illness and has put up with all the prodding from the V..E..T..s without ever scratching or fighting back. Kandi is no longer sick as she passed to the Rainbow Bridge on Dec. 28, 2006. -Ceri H.

Good morning! So glad Kandi found you Ceri and lived a great life with you. She sounds like she was just a delightful little girl. I will keep you in my thoughts as I know you miss her terribly. She was a beautiful girl with her green eyes and black eyeliner. That mouth expression is just too cute! Rest in peace sweet Kandinsky.

What a wonderfully strong cat! That was such an insperational story, too. I have to say, this is one of the best cat photos that I've ever seen! I mean really, she was looking front and center. It's as if you asked her to sit on a chair and say "cheese!" This is wonderful memorial picture for you, at least I think it really captured the essence of your Kandi Girl.

Good Day to my fuzz sisters! HOORAY, THE KIDS WENT BACK TO SCHOOL TODAY!!!!!!

What pretty eyes! And doesn't she look like she's about to tell you exactly what she thinks about something? Such a sweetie! I'm sorry she's passed on. Purrs!

I'm sorry - I thought I had said thank you for posting this for me last week but there's nothing here.

It's a lovely post. We miss our cat in lots of little ways but it is good to see so many nice comments about her. People have started to broach the 'will you get a new cat' issue but I think we won't for a good while.

So thank you Kat x I'll probably be back again next time I'm thinking about her!!
