These are pictures of Otis, a working cat who I met at a Massachusetts bookstore. His duties include greeting customers, perfoming quality control checks of bookshelf and book placement, assisting in purchases (especially bagging books), and putting customers at ease by lounging on the floor. While I was browsing for a book, he followed my progress from the top of the bookshelves. When I pulled out a book for a closer look, he reached down and patted the top of my head. i would love to have a helper when i go to pick out books. lol
He is beautiful. Don't you love being able to have cats in the workplace? I have a small ad agency in my home, and I can not imagine working without my four furry ones. My first cat to have really furry paws was Emlee, the tuffs literally stick out a quarter inch from her prone paw. One of our employees named them her "drop shadows", after the shadows we place under product photos in a layout.
So, does Otis prefer fiction or non-fiction?

Otis is a very handsome kitty. I just love the markings on his face.I knew 3 cats that had a similar job. They were in a boockstore there in North Carolina.

Doesn't the Cat Who books have a cat in the book store or is it Jan Karon's books. Can't remember. There is a place in town where they do nails and they have a little dog there. Really cute. Otis you are one handsome kitty. Keep up the good work on your job.
Otis is so handsome, and a working guy, how neat. I would love to shop at a book store, well, any store, that had cats around to help you. Reminds me of Jazper at the Wren's Nest (Purrchance to Dream).
Lesa here... Otis works at a combination science fiction/fantasy and detective genre bookstore. He recommended a fantasy book to me, and it turned out to be good. He was so outgoing -- not a timid kittyboy at all! I'm definitely going back... just to snorgle a furry paw!
