Wiley
We found Wiley in 2003 during our 14-month stay in St. George, UT. We found her on a cold November night, hungry for food and love and attention, with her fur just starting to mat and tangle. Bil and I both just knew we should keep her. The best estimate is that she was 8-9 months old. We think she is at least part Maine Coon. At first, I thought she was polydactl, but, no, she just has big feet. Her legs are disproportionately short for her length and I don't know if that was due to malnutrition as a kitten (can that happen?), or if it was just the genetic roll of the dice. She is such a sweety, our little love-bug, quick with a purr and is always hanging around with us, no matter what room we are in. She has the softest fur of any cat I've ever had. She is also very smart. I've been clicker-training our cats and Wiley is the star pupil. She knows to jump in the empty laundry basket, jump on a chair or step-stool, and sit-up. She and Kona get along quite well, but "the girls" -- Maddie and Wiley -- don't really care for each other; but live peacefully ~90% of the time. I'm biased, but I think she is a very pretty, very photogenic kitty. The picture of her in Bil's arms, is the closest we have to a baby picture--the night we brought her home, 11/2003. -Donna

i remember wiley! she is still a cutie. she did a great job finding you and bil and charming the socks off of you. ;) her fur does look to be silky soft. donna, thanks for sharing her with us on KCOTD!
Cool! Here's our Wiley-girl. She is our little love bug, with silky, soft fur. Smoochies Wiley. Thanks, Kat, for making Wiley KCOTD today. I read all of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows over the weekend. I liked it!
You're welcome Donna! She should've been posted a long time ago! Can you believe that Kona was the 3rd KCotD! Seems like so long ago.
Oh she is bootiful and floofy like me! I have big feets like that and short legs too!
She definately looks like a Coon or Norwegian Forest Cat. The legs are always short on Coons. And the ear tufts, the big feet - could be either breed. Beautiful creature!
she is beautiful!!!!
Wiley is absolutely beautiful I love her gorgeous face and those cute lil' legs! And she sounds like a smarty too!! Wow Wiley you got the whole package girl! Congrats on being COTD! :)
Floofy and sweet - what a cutie!
Awwww, you're adorable, Wiley!

Thank you for your comments about Wiley-kins. Yes, she got "shorted" in the leg-length department. We call her our "low-rider" :-) We always thought she was at least part Maine Coon. I've not looked into Norwegian Forest; I'll have to check on that. We sometimes wonder if she is supposed to be Maine Coon but did not turn out right, so she was abandoned. If so....our gain!
Wiley is absolutely gorgeous! her face is stunning and she looks very sweet. i love her big feet and long fluffy fur. very cool that she is trained too :)
Wiley is so beautiful. In the picture with Bil holding her, it looks like she's making love paws in the air, doesn't it. She knew she'd found a home.
Missy has really short legs, too. Low-rider is cute, I'll have to call her that. Wiley's fur looks a lot like Missy's fur, maybe a tad longer.
She is a beautiful girl.
Thanks for sharing.
Actually I think Wiley just wrapped you around her paws. She knew she had found a forever home. Just love the picture of her sitting on her haunches. So cute. Hi Donna. Hope you are still having a great time on your running events.
