Mako

This gently giant (he weighed 17 lbs.) is Mako. He lost his fight against a very aggressive form of cancer about two years ago. I lost him in less than 3 months from first diagnosis. He would find some of the strangest places to sleep. This was a plastic clothes hamper and my nightstand. -Shirley

Good morning! And Happy Easter! I'll be gone most of the day, so I figured I'd comment now while I have the chance.

Mako is the sweetest ball of fluff. I love his popcorn pillow. Two questions, Shirley:
1. Is Mako part Siamese? Are his eyes crossed? They look blue thru the camera flash. He looks like my Marley who is a Flamepoint Siamese Mix.
2. What does his name, Mako, mean? No offense, but it makes me think of a shark. But I can't see Mako as having been anything but sweet and cuddly! RIP Mako, angel kitty!

Good Morning Friends and Happy Easter!

Shirley, Mako looks every inch the mushpillow!! What is that he's resting his head on in the first
picture? Looks to me like a bag of Popcorn, but then I haven't had Breakfast yet! I'm sorry Mako is not in your present with you, but since (I think) Meowmepurr's Momma told me about the Rainbow Bridge, it's confirmed that I have my entire fuzz family waiting for me!
I'm certain Mako's scoped out a nice, sunny but UNIQUE spot to snooze away!!
Kat1! I saw your Benji! I never knew what The Infinate Cat Project was, but I LOVE the concept! Nice BIG ol' HUGGABLE Benji looks very much the webbrowser! Is TICP in his FAVORITES list?! Just don
t get him a wireless mouse, or you'll never find it!

Have a Blessed Day Everyone!!

Happy Easter Everyone! Mako was a beautiful cat! I'm sorry for your loss but I believe, as Emily Rose does, that he's got a nice place waiting for you. He looks like a sweet cat who brought you much joy! I've lost three cats in my lifetime and it never gets easier. They become part of our family. But I'll see them again one day.

Anonymous, I'm sorry for the loss of your Aunt. It sounds like you might have been close.

Danielle, still thinking of you and Jake. Hang in there, you'll know more tomorrow. I'm sure he'll be just fine. Please keep us posted.

Well all, I hope your day as a bright sunny one!

What a sweet marshmallow kitty!

Re: Jake's troubles-- We had a wonderful cat who had major problems with crystals and urinary blockages. He had a really bad episode with urine backing up into his kidneys and causing partial renal failure, but thanks to the care of a great vet and some good kitty luck, made an amazing recovery and went on to live for many more happy and healthy years. Kidney problems are severe, but just take care of your little guy and cross your fingers. It's definitely a life threatening situation, but I've seen an amazing recovery firsthand. One other suggestion I haven't seen yet is trying a pet water fountain (We got on of the cheaper models for about $20 and it works fine). Many cats prefer to drink moving water and will drink more from a recirculating fountain than from a bowl of still water. This makes their urine less concentrated and less likely to form crystals. Danielle, good luck to you and your Jake-- I can tell that you love him a lot.

What a pretty cat. He looks so cuddly. Looks like he tried to get comfy anywhere he could. Agreed he does look like a marshmallow.

I also agree with Kim, it gets no easier when you loose them sweet babies.

HAPPY EASTER

Mako was certainly a handsome fellow. You just want to hug him, he's so soft and fluffy, like you all said, a big kitty mushmallow. His nose looks like it might have been speckled? I know you really miss him, he looks like a perfect companion. Thanks Shirley, for sharing Mako with us.
And please, keep us posted on Jake. I looked back, has a picture of Jake been posted????
BTW, my vet said to only give my cat and dog bottled water. At the time, figured she had stock in Dasini or something. She said the impurities & minerals in our water (Houston, TX) cause stones.

Hi Mako!

I agree: you do look soft and cuddly. What a sweet boy.

An adorable, cuddly, extra fluffy angel!

Any word about Jake?

Karen, I think she won't know more until Monday. She hopes to bring him home tomorrow too. But, we would like to know how he's doing at the vet, if you know, Danielle.??

Good Morning all,
I hope everyone had a great Easter. Mako is absolutely beautiful. What seems to be the oddest places to sleep are usually the most comfortable. Sorry to hear of his passing. He will be waitinf to meet you again over the Rainbow Bridge.

Sorry for saying it again to those I emailed.

I found out yesterday that if I didn't get him to the vet when I did he would have died. On the lighter side his catheter is coming out today and if he goes to the bathroom by himself he will come home tomorrow. Thank you everyone for your support. It has meant the world to me.

I know you must really miss this sweetie. I still miss one that I lost to feline leukemia 16 years ago. But you had a great time with him while he was here with you, didn't you?

i have had so many cats over my lifetime so far. most have gone to the rainbow bridge. i now have only two kitties with me. they too will one day join my other babies.

when i think of any of them, i can not help but to shed a tear for i miss them so.

i know i will need to bring a super sized bag of catnip, toys and treats for all of them when we meet again.

thank you to everyone for the kind comments.
