Brewster
Brewster is a lovable, handsome and certainly not camera shy, ginger cat who loves life and lots of attention. Brewster came to us in 1993 after being orphaned by someone who "dumped" him in front of our home in New Hampshire along with a bag of food and a note saying, "We are moving to New Jersey and cannot take our cat." Although he would never admit it today, Brewster was a very scared little boy at the time (wouldn't you be?). A year or so ago, Brewster had a stroke and since then he has trouble with his balance. He slowly lost his sight and is now totally blind. Amazingly, he has adjusted and can "feel" his way to food, water, etc., very well! Brewster is a real snuggler, who loves people and warmly welcomes every visitor to our home. His birthday is celebrated as June 15, 1992. -Barid

Oh my, what an amazing story! The people who dumped him must have been guided to your door! How sad for that to happen to such an awesome cat. And then the poor guy suffers a stroke, what a survivor! He is absolutely gorgeous, I'm partial to Gingers! He is a real camera ham and very photogenic! I absolutely love the picture on the right, he should be in a magazine or calendar!
Good morning Fuzz Family! How is everyone today? Kat? Jakey? Deb? Frank? I's serious, if I've missed anyone, please pipe on in and tell me how you are, I care about ALL of you!
Kat, do you think you could add a link to the Fuzz Family Trip site?
OH wow I LOVE your kitty. That is a shame for a cat to be treated like that. I am very glad though he ended up on your door step. He's soooo cute. You are right he is not camera shy. He looks like he is a natural in front of it.
Big post on my venters site check it out. You MUST go.
For sure! I thought about it yesterday, but wondered if you wanted just fuzz packers there or...
I actually saw a link to the FFCA on another site, not any of ours! I can't remember what site, but I could find it again.
Kat, I thought about that, about if you should post a link. But it looks like the trip is going to be in 2008. This would not only let Fuzz members to check in on the site but it would give new and every increasing members a chance to get in on the action. The trip is two years away, I think you'll have quite a few new members by then.
EXCUSE TERRIBLE SPELLING PLEASE! I SUFFER FROM CSS! Can't spell SH*T! Yes, I also suffer from CRS!!!
Wow, Brewster is beautiful! I can't understand how someone can just leave their fur baby behind like that! They wouldn't do it to their human children, (at least I hope not), so why do they think doing it to a fur baby is okay. It looks like he is in good hands, better hands now. It is great that he is a snuggler, I love that.
I have a couple of snugglers of my own, I was asleep on my side last night, and I woke up this morning with my Charlotte snuggled up beside my legs, and my Indigo snuggled up by my chest. Most amazing since most of the time Indigo is beating up on Charlotte.
Oh, Brewster is a wonderful fellow, I'm very impressed by his ability to adjust and do so well after his stroke and I love cats who snuggle. Love his handsome face. Thanks for sharing his pictures and story with all of us.
Brewster is certainly a handsome fellow. So you have had him since he was about a year old. Glad they dumped him by your home! Know he is, too.
He has another one of those gorgeous character faces, so knowing. What a little survivor he is.
Happy Birthday a month late, Brewster. You are a handsome fellow.
Wow, I forgot to say good morning! Good morning! I too love these pix of Brewster! He is so adorable! Bari it's a good thing they knew of you! Who knows what would of happened to sweet Brewster! How old was Brewster on hims b-day? I know it probably said on your site. Just failed to include it!
Well, my throat is feeling better and fever gone, but...I've been coughing so much and so hard, I feel like my eyes are gonna pop out! lol Sorry for that visual. And I won't give any detail about blowing my nose and what it looked like!! Ewwww! So, YES, I called the doctor and they are calling in something for me. I'm so done being sick!! Will someone please tell my body that! I need to get out of the house!! lol
what a life handsome Brewster has lead so far! i'm so glad you were there to rescue him. i don't understand how peeps can leave animals like that. it sickens me. and you know, they probably thought they were being nice by leaving a note and all. UGH!
okay, done ranting....
i love Brewster's pose. he looks like he's posing for a school photo. LOL!!! he is very sweet and handsome. thanks for sharing.
What a sweetie Brewster is!! I wish I could meet him & pet him on his tummy!! He looks so cute!!
Thank goodness for people like you to take care of such a important kitty!!

Good Morning, Brewster, and good morning to all my Fuzz Sisters!!
Brewster, you are one seriously handsome Gentleman Cat. Talk about a camera ham, I agree that his Cat of the Day picture looks like a school picture!! What a strong and brave cat to survive and thrive with his blindness and balance issues.
Bari, I'm so glad that those people dropped him at your house; he was meant to have a GOOD home for his "forever" home!
Paul's doc appointment went well, and he is fine(at least that's what I remember-LOL). For being a "good wife" and going with him, I got taken out to dinner, thank you!
Wow--I looked at the Fuzz Family Gathering site, I'll comment there in a bit. Kim, you've done wonderful work there. Also, KIM, thank you for the wonderful pictures, what a lovely family you have(including you)!!
EVERYONE--you MUST go to Venters Welcome today--it is just super!!
I have a few minutes during lunch to take a peek at the kitty blogs. Brewster looks very handsome and dignified. I cannot believe people would abandon a beloved pet. Its good he has you to take care of him, especially since his stroke. If his former family had kept him, what would have become of him when he got sick?
Kat--glad to hear you are better, but I know what you mean about the coughing and nose blowing. I've been doing that for a week now. I think I started with a chest cold (or bronchitus) and it has now migrated to my sinuses. I don't feel bad or have any fever. However, its embarassing to be honking your nose or hacking up a lung every 5 minutes in the presence of your coworkers! Sometimes I get that tickle in the back of my throat and I cough repeatedly for 5 minutes or more. It is getting better, but I just want it to completely go away!
Still have a few minutes left on my lunch time. Gone to check out Danielle's blog.
Hello efurrybody!
What a beautiful cat Brewster is and such an awe inspiring story. I am so glad he found you to care and love him as he needed. Even though he can no longer see through his eyes, they are just as magical and full of life. I truly believe that cats don't have the same handicaps we do when we suffer some life altering ailment. They seem to have the right attitude about just getting on with it the best they know how.
Thank you for sharing Brewster.
What a handsome boy! We're very partial to gingers...and tuxies and tiggers and torties and.... you get the idea. There's a special place in heaven for folks who rescue animals.
brewster is such an inspiration. if only we humans could adjust so well when stuff happens. he is a handsome fellow and love his "bib". his face looks xtra sweet in the pic on the left. bless you for having such a big heart to take him in.
i think i'm back where i can blog again. i did ck out the reunion site earlier and left a couple of comments. snuck them in when the boss wasn't lookin'. shhhhh, be very very quiet and don't tell!
kat, i like the weekend idea. i did manage to sneak a peek but didn't feel well enough to post this weekend. that story will be at ventor's. well off to go read all the blogs and find out how everyone is doing.
Dr. Deb - Paging Dr. Deb! Dr. Deb please answer line 1, it's Kat! lol...Okay, they gave me Tequin 400mg. I getting ready to read the pamphlet on it. Hopefully this will knock out whatever's left!
Karen S. - Hope you get better too. Make sure you call your doctor too if you don't start feeling better!
Oh my goodness, I am just in love with this cat! He is sooo beautiful! I am just mesmerized by him!
OK ALL, if you haven't done so already, please check out our trip blog. Kat has a link; Fuzz Family Get Together. There are three things to comment on. We need everyone interested to give their feedback so that we can make this a trip for all to enjoy and remember!
Brewster, you are one lucky cat to have found such a great forever-home. And you are so handsom! I would love to snuggle with you, but since I'm far away, ask your mother for an extra snuggle from me.
Ok Fuzz Family, one more time. I have another update on the trip site and I need EVERYONE to comment. Before I can go any further, I need your help.
Karen, call the doctor!!!
Oh My...I didn't realize our Brewster was honored today! I work from home, but don't always have time to get online during the day! I'd hate to have missed your sharing him!
Thank you all so much for your wonderful concern-filled comments. He is a sweetheart for sure. I'll never know how people can dump animals...not taking your pets when you move is like not taking your children, for heaven's sake!!!
As for the pics on his site, the only one taken since he lost his sight is the 3rd up from the bottom. Obviously his pupils don't react at all now.
As for his age, he just turned 14 in June.
You are all just so sweet. Kat, I'm glad you're feeling better.
Purrs to all from Cat Happy!!
What a sweet sweet Brewster, he is so handsome and cute. Barid, bless you for taking in this sweet heart. So glad he has had a good home as long as you have had him.
Well Kat maybe these anti-biotics will do what you want AND TAKE THAT OLD BUG AWAY FOR GOOD.
Karen S please take care of yourself. Don't let it get to bad before doing something about it.
Frank is doing fine today. This story is reminding me of Amber. I know she is not up to par and there is no complaint coming from her. Mark (vet) said she would start whining if she was in pain. Some how I don't believe it now hearing the story of this sweet sweet cat.
Bari, I'm trying to learn blogging to so we are in the same boat. Was wondering if it is easier to have a web site than a blog site??
Hello Brewster! You are the One Voted Most Likely to be blessed with the best biped-family in the world! That picture on the left DOES look like a Yearbook Picture!
Yep, there's some substantial FuZZ that can use a huggin'!
Hello to my FuZZ Friends, also!
Kat, see, Dr Deb was right, getting you to call your doc back-for them to switch your meds, they must have thought it strange the Keflex didn't work sooner. Everyone reacts differently to meds...I'm like a goat, I can tolerate ANY med I've ever had to be on!
Karen S, I know, cough spasms are annoying, and you feel EVERYONE is paying attention. What's worse, there's usually SOMEONE who, while crossing by your desk will say in the middle of a spaz "are you ok?"
and all you can do is nod between coughs...augh!! Look after that cough, though...
This is short for me, but I will return, because I have some Young Royals bragging to do!!
chat later...
Hi everyone, Hello to Brewster too!
A gentleman's name for such a gentlemanly cat. I thought the picture on the right looked like a school picture too when I first saw it. Scholarly fuzz! I just love this guy and what a touching story...give him a big hug from me!
Wouldn't you know it? The day I'm supposed to go get my new fuzzy, my boss asks me to stay the whole day! Aaaarrgghhh! Luckily the humane society stays open until 7:00, so I'll be heading that way right from work.
Kat, I'm hoping the new meds will do the trick and you'll be back to yourself in no time.
Hey, Mary Lynn, I finally got a picture of Casper on my blogsite. His baby picture. Yeah!!!!
Oh man, Kathleen, that must have been so scary. Gosh, prayers up for you. Hope Cairo and Rosie give you some loving to help you feel better.
Oh Kathleen! They have no idea what caused it?! How scary! Like you said, thank goodness you weren't alone! You get better girl! Cairo, soon to be......??, will be posted tomorrow. I still can't come up w/any names that seem to suit her. I'm sure one day a name will just click in your head. I'm gonna go stare at her pix and see if I can think of any. Again, hope you continue to feel better and have no more seizures! Not fun. One of my best friend's mom has Epilepsy and deals w/seizures every once in awhile. Her meds control them for the most part. She's had some when she was alone. Anyway, take cares!
C.'s mom - Going to check out your pic on the new site! Love the verse, btw!
Kathleen, I am glad you are doing better - what a frightening thing!!! Keep those kitties close - healing is their specialty even if they do get a bit testy with each other from time to time! Take care of yourself for sure!!!
kathleen, will keep you in my prayers. cairo and rosie too.
ML - Where are yooooouuuu! Hehe...Just want to inform you that you need to go and check out Oreo's site. You have been mentioned in her post today!! If you haven't already been notified and checked it out...go check it out!
Deb! Sweet little Sam?!
Kathleen, I know that was scary! Sean has Epilepsy and the first time he had a Grand Mal, I was terrified!!!!
There are three triggers for a Grand Mal. I can't remember what one of them is but the other two are Illness and the second is Fatigue or being over tired. The Neurologist may want to do an EEG. With Sean, they waited until he had a second GM. Most people who have a seizure due to sickness find that they never have one again. You won't labeled with Epilepsy until you have had two or more. And that is a lable that shouldn't scare you. That just means that you're prone to seizures. A true seizure condition is something else. Sean has a problem because of the hardware that he has in his head. He actually has two different types of seizures.
I hope that you're getting plenty of rest and that you're feeling OK. I'm going to ask a personal question, if you don't want to answer then I'll understand and I apologize for being so nosey. Does your boyfriend live with you? Is there anyone who can stay with you for a few days? Please take care and know that your Fuzz Family is thinking about you!
REF: Blogger Display Problems
Karen C posted on Missy's blog that she upgraded to IE7 Beta version on one computer and has no blogger problems on that one. However, she cautioned NOT to upgrade if you use Wells Fargo Online Banking, as it is not compatible.
I don't use online banking on this computer, just installed the updated Internet Explorer and the blogs display perfectly! Kat, even the green Neko appears!
The upgrade is the best way to go, since the bug originated in Internet Explorer. However, again, if you use Wells Fargo Online Banking, be very cautious about installing at this time. Actually, if I used this computer for anything vital (online banking at any bank, business, etc.) I would be careful about installing a Beta version of anything!!!
Kathleen, please take care of yourself. My neighbor has severe epilepsy and it is totally under control with her medications. It took them a while to adjust the meds. If we can do anything, just ask! Even if it is just to listen (actually, sometimes it's hard to find someone to just listen to us).
And thanks again to Karen C and Victor Tabbycat (and his equally talented Mommy, Jennifer).
